About this property
Waterfront home w/ private 43 ft pier & GameRoom!! fantastic views!
Great retreat for the family! Come visit us at Cypress Shores on the inner banks of NC. We are directly on the water! And, not a CONDO! Consider this, very large home with four levels, 3 BR's + Bonus room BR, with two of those being master suites with their own full baths; very large sunroom with great water views; card room/family room/den; and large game room. Yes, you can indeed cook here, and have not only a very large kitchen, but outside grills (gas). Lots of room to gather one-on-one and one-on many for those great conversations and family entertainment. You can't beat the private pier for the entire family and friends; fishing, and water sports with a marina located close by as well.
Cypress Shores is the vacation you have been waiting to have, with a place directly on the Albemarle Sound, sound side of the outer banks. This location has nature at it’s best with fish swimming and jumping, geese, birds, and sea gulls in the air, a quietness away from the hustle of city life, and stars overhead every clear night. It’s a vacation you won’t soon forget. For that perfect fun and relaxing day, and ending with a refreshing uninterrupted sleep at night. Located near Edenton, NC on the inner banks of NC you’ll be able to relax at the water’s edge with your own private pier in full view.
This large vacation home is directly on the water.
There’s lots of property here, about a half acre and the views are extraordinary. You’ll able to grill out on the patio, with a choice of gas grills or charcoal. Enjoy the gentle breeze from the water. Relax on an Adirondack chair on the wide open deck overseeing the water.
This home has excellent fishing – flounder, bass, rock, crabs, stripped bass, and more. You are on the water and within a short drive to many area attractions, such as NC Lighthouses, NC Aquarium, Historic Civil War towns and attractions, Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey's Ridge, The Lost Colony performance, and much, much more. This beautiful water-front lot and home are rich with luxury accommodations and the natural wildlife. See attached pictures . This home has it's own 43 ft. large pier, great for fishing, swimming, sitting, boating, etc. Great family fun. This is the water-front the way it was, a home directly on the water with no condo neighbors! Home has 4-bedrooms, large living room, den, card room, large hardwood floor sunroom, 3 full baths, large garage/gameroom. Fully furnished. With large screen TV's. Ceramic stove, frig., oven, freezer, microwave, outdoor grill for cooking, appliances such as washer/dryer. Home has 4 different levels, sleeping on the upper two levels. All kitchen utensils are on site, plates, eating utensils, coffee maker, pots & pans, etc.
Bedroom view is great! No need to bring bikes, they are on-site already. Super large outside deck. This place has lots of shade as well as sun; and, it's directly on the water! Marina just a mile away, rent a pontoon boat or put your own boat in the water.
(Sorry, no pets allowed) Also, this home must be smoke free, and pet free to accommodate those individuals with allergies.
Planning a big meal and want everyone to eat together? We have the largest area of most any rental for this. (see pictures). 3 tables on the property can be opened for seating for up to 14 persons at the same table!
Some folks consider hotels or condos. There’s huge advantages renting a home like this directly on the Sound Side:
• Fish directly on the water from this lot, fish from the pier or boat
• Great swimming in the open water
• Less neighbors to bother you, especially when you sleep.
• More room to stretch out, this home is large. It’s not one of those hotel one-room BR with kitchen attached.
• Large water views, not like a condo with a small balcony.
• Hi speed cable modem internet & free WiFI
• TV's in many rooms - 60" Ultra HD SMART - all Smart TV's.
• Many enjoyable comforts, large screen TV’s, bikes, games, etc.
• Able to cook out on patios. (but not the deck) Can’t do that in most condos.
• Private 43 ft pier, yes this goes with this property. Only you. (pier planks may be removed after Labor Day - off season - if there's a hurricane coming)
• 3 full baths
• 4 Bedrooms, 4 level home
• All cooking appliances and utensils
• Game room with Gaming & fishing rods/reels
• Back side is to the water, front side is open farmland and natural woods at this property!
• Large 0.66 acre lot
• Washer/dryer/two refrigerators/microwave/coffee pots/stove/two central A/C systems in this home
• Sunroom with multiple seating w/ great water views
• Marina 1 mile away.
• Something for all ages
• Heated Sq Ft is 2785, including gameroom is 3,452 sq ft.
* Much more…
This location is a place the whole family can enjoy, have fun, and not be too close to each other with this large home and game room. Vacation at the home, or, go to the Outer Banks (just a quick drive to NagsHead, NC) and park any of the many free parking lots available to you, which are directly beside the dunes and Atlantic ocean! Enjoy the day there if you wish; however, most vacationers seem to love this beach home as a desired favorite. It has shade, coolness, and many accommodations that appeal to everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions and Notes
1. Is the water safe to swim in? Are there sharks?
Answer: No sharks that I have ever seen in 16 years. Yes, it’s safe. You hear about lakes that have bacteria floating around and persons get infected. Not so on the Sound…the water is too huge and always churning.
2. Is there sand at Cypress Shores rental?
Answer: Yes, the Sound itself has pure sandy bottoms just like the ocean side when you put your toes in the sand. Unfortunately we don’t have a beach front, we have bulkheads that protect the property, typical for Sound side. The view is still spectacular.
3. Are there fish in the Sound?
Answer: Absolutely. In summer months (starting in June) large fish actually jump/hop out of the water in late evenings. You can see this on any nice evening in the summer. Fishing is best in the spring, summer, fall.
4. Can I fish off the pier?
Answer: If you have a fishing license you can.
5. Can I launch a boat at Cypress Shores?
Answer: You can launch a boat from Mackey’s marina (about a mile away), they have a boat slip. For a small canoe or kayak you can lunch from the back yard of Cypress Shores. If you can carry it, you can launch it.
6. Are jet skis used on the Sound?
Answer: Absolutely, if you have one. I’d go out on a calm day, otherwise you’re going to have a sore behind. Note: Jetskiis are not available on this property your use.
7. How deep is the water off the pier?
Answer: It’s about 4-5 ft deep, depending on tide. There’s ladder access directly to the water from the pier.
8. Why does it cost so much to rent for a week at Cypress Shores?
Answer: Actually it’s moderately if not cheaply priced. Compare this price per day to that of hotels, you’re find its about the same. Yet a hotel is a cramped bedroom and bath where-as Cypress Shores is very large. Also, living on the water is very expensive, from taxes, insurance, to upkeep. With hurricane Irene we lost all planks from the pier and needed 22 dump trucks to fill the hole made in the back yard and 1 tractor-trailer of sod. It was expensive.
9. Is it quiet at Cypress Shores?
Answer: Yes indeed. Cypress Shores is more for those persons or families that do not wish to have too much commercialism and heavy traffic and persons walking through yards. It’s very quiet with home owners. There’s large tracks of farmland on the front side, and nothing but water in the backyard. I can’t think of a better place to relax.
10. Is the water from the facets at Cypress Shores safe to drink?
Answer: Yes, it's municipal water. We prefer bottled water for drinking, but everyone has different tastes. Water is on the township water system, with good water pressure for showers.
11. Can I bring my very small dog with me to Cypress Shores?
Answer: Sorry, no. Totally against our rules. We must keep this place free of animals for those persons, including ourselves, with allergies.
12. What if we have more than 8 persons coming with us?
Answer: Send me a note on HomeAway and explain. It may be that we grant an exception in certain situations.
13. Are there enough games and things to keep us entertained at Cypress Shores?
Answer: We have many games and some arcades. There’s lots to do at Cypress Shores, from biking, swimming, fishing, cook-outs, etc.; however, what you must know is that it’s not necessarily the place that determines if you have a good time, it’s the people you’re with. They make it fun. Of course the environment helps.
14. Are there local stores to get grocery items?
Answer: Yes, only 15-20 away is Edenton and Plymouth. Both have at least 2 large grocery stores. Whichever way you come in, you’ll pass at least one.
15. Is there Air-conditioning at this home?
Answer: Absolutely, not just one large central unit, but two main units covering the 4 levels.
16. Is this home as beautiful as the pictures on your web site?
Answer: It’s identical, there’s how I took the pictures….with my camera phone. It’s the same as pictured.

We work at Research Triangle Park located in Raleigh, NC. We live in Raleigh as well. We are in the telecommunications industry. We love spending time vacationing at the water with our family and friends.
Why they chose this property
Based on past feedback over the last year, we've continued to invest and update this place. Carpet has been replaced with hardwoods on all 3 levels (only the bonus bedroom still has carpet). Updated amenities. Updated bathrooms. New hardwood steps (no carpet). Updated WiFi lines all the way to the street (by Mediacom)., very reliable now. Updated power lines all the way to the street (by Dominion Power).
Not many people are as in tune with the inner banks (IBX) of NC as they are with the Outer Banks (OBX), which we all know has the Ocean and beach. The IBX has accessible water for boating, fishing, swimming, pier activity, and beautiful water views, with green grass leading up to the water and a very unique aspect of SHADE near the waterline. Trees line the bulkhead just feet away from the water. So, you can sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze of the wind and view of the water.
