This home is in the foothills of the beautiful Black Hills, where prairie meets mountains. Built on a cliff, with a spectacular view of the valley below on 7+ acres, overlooking the beautiful Black Hills. This is the perfect spot for a quiet read-away or a fun family getaway.

The wraparound porch invites quality family bonding time in the fresh air of the Hills with sunrise and sunset views.

Offering 2 bedrooms, plus a loft this home provides plenty of personal and communal space for up to 6 folks. The full kitchen and laundry room round out the home. A garage is included for your vehicle, whether it's 4 wheeled or 2 with plenty of extra parking.

Located within 30 minutes of all of the must see attractions our home is the perfect home base for exploring all that the Black Hills has to offer. Enjoy the tourist sites, take a hike, or nature walk, to embrace the rural life of South Dakota.

Our rate is based upon 4 occupants. Our fee for additional folks is $35 per person/night.

Our home is licensed and inspected by the state of South Dakota as a legitimate vacation rental.

Bob and family were amazing hosts! Even though we arrived a day late due to travel issues and had to leave early due to a family emergency back home, we truly had an amazing time enjoying this property. The house was spotless and the views were spectacular. Make sure you catch a sunrise and go stargazing at night. This property is in a great location for sightseeing, we were only a little drive from seeing Buffalo or the Badlands. Pop's grocery store for ice cream and Lintz Brothers Pizza are near by and great stops to make. We will definitely be back!

We loved our spot in Hermosa for our South Dakota Trip! House was very clean, spacious and well equipped. It is a great location to use as a home base to enjoy all that the Black Hills has to offer. We would return to this house anytime! Bob is a thoughtful and gracious host!

This was our second stay at Bob's place and we loved it just as much as the first time! Our first stay was three years ago and we were eager to return. It is the perfect location for visiting all the popular spots in Custer State Park and the Black Hills. Just far enough from the busyness of Keystone and Rapid City. We stayed with three kids age 4-11, and four adults (two couples) and it was the perfect size for us. The patio overlooking the hillside is the perfect place to enjoy a sunset. It is comfortable and feels like home. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. And Bob is the absolute best host!!

Bob was a great host. He was there to greet us and show us around. The house was spotless. It had everything we needed for our 8 night stay. Bob checked in with us after a few days to see if we needed anything else. He even called on Mother's day to wish the ladies a happy mother's day. If we are ever in the area again, I would be sure to stay there.

The house was beautiful, perfect view from porch of the amazing landscape. It was very clean and comfortable. About 1-1.5 hours from badlands depending on which entrance you use, and about 20 minutes from mt.rushmore. Was a great base for our traveling. The town also had a great restaurant around the corner. The owner, Bob, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and a great resource to help direct you in any advice on what to do for the day. We greatly enjoyed our stay and if we ever get back to South Dakota we would love to stay there again.

We owned a hardware store for 30 years in Nebraska and decided to retire to the beautiful South Dakota Black Hills. In 1983 we joined the National Senior Pro Rodeo Association. This organization gives you a second chance after the kids are gone and you have worked long enough. Bob accumulated several championships in the NSPRA - 3 in the All-Around, 4 in the Ribbon Roping, and 6 in the calf roping. In 2009 through 2012, he was the World Champion Header in the team roping competition in the 60 plus age group. We also traveled in Canada and received several titles there. Bob was inducted into the South Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Donna won the titles in Ribbon Roping with Bob - he catches the calf, she grabs the ribbon off the tail, and runs to the finish line. She's won 4 World championships in the All-Around, 3 World titles in Barrel Racing, and Frontier Champion team roping heeler in 2007. She's also inducted into the South Dakota Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

So, after 15 years in this home, we built a second home down the road, to be closer to our big barn and roping arena.

This home is in the foothills of the beautiful Black Hills, where prairie meets mountains. We built it on a cliff, with a spectacular view. It has log siding, with subtle stone trim, and sits on 7+ acres, overlooking the horse barn and pasture.

We are centrally located to all that is good in the Black Hills.

What makes this property unique

We built our place on a cliff, overlooking the southwest valley. This one-of-a-kind view includes pasture, hills, our roping arena, and the biggest, bluest sky imaginable.

Oh, and did we mention only 20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore and 15 from Custer State Park?!
