Short walk to everything. The layout of the house was perfect for a family. It had what we needed for the 4 days that we stayed. Sondra was very helpful when we had questions. I would recommend this house to those traveling to Newport!

Great location, clean accommodations
The location of this house is really fantastic. It is on a quiet street just a few minutes' walk from great coffee shops and restaurants. The house is clean and spacious. We were on the second floor of a three story house. The host Sondra is attentive and available if you need to reach her. Our party forgot sheets and towels and she very graciously lent some to us, no questions asked. The only downside I'd say is that we learned we did not have access to one of the bathrooms, so we were sharing one bathroom for eight people. This may just be temporary, but worth noting. Overall it was a lovely stay and a convenient location. I would recommend staying here. Just remember to pack towels and sheets!

We loved having these guests stay with us. The bathroom is available for summer guests and this group was pre-season and heavily discounted. I hope they come back to stay!

Great location
Pros: Great location walking distance to many restaurants & shopping. I loved having an extra (4th) bedroom for the kids, but keep in mind you have to pass through one of the rooms to enter, or enter from the stairs.
The owner, Sondra, was very accessible and accommodating.
We were granted access to the second bathroom which was new and clean. We rarely used it because it was downstairs next to washer/dryer, but was nice to have the access when needed.
Also, was really nice to have a washer/dryer with kiddos.
Cons:
The unit was pretty dusty upon arrival and dirty (stained couch, hair ties under furniture, etc). However, I heard the owner is replacing all the furniture so this may not be an issue for future renters.
Also, the listing states dishwasher which was important for us since we had to wash bottles for our baby, but there was no dishwasher. This was my biggest issue but we dealt. I just wish I had known going in and the listing needs to be updated.
Assuming the furniture is replaced and the unit is well cleaned, I’d still definitely recommend this place for all the qualities listed above (especially location), just keep in mind you’ll be hand washing dishes.
Took off one star for above mentioned but overall happy with our stay and the unit and service. Thank you, Sondra.
This rental was very good value. The second floor apartment is much more spacious than I expected. It is nicely decorated, though the kitchen cabinets and upholstered furniture could use an upgrade. The location was a 10-minute walk from what I consider the center of Newport (Bannister Wharf). There are many restaurants just a short walk down the hill on Broadway. The owner/manager was very prompt, responsive and courteous. One bathroom in an apartment that sleeps 8 (there were only 4 of us) is not ideal but the owner did offer us the use of a second bathroom, which like the laundry room, is downstairs near the garage. I was told to bring my own sheets and towels which I was happy to do. Overall, this is a nice apartment at a good price. My family and I were comfortable and happy there and I would rent it again.

I loved this family and hope they come back to stay. They were respectful, kind and a pleasure to host. We are replacing the sofa and chairs in the living room next summer as they are not as white as they should be, the kitchen cabinets are country style--large white wood stocked with quality kitchen supplies ie William Sonoma plates, bowls, cups and all you will need such as toaster, coffee machine, blender, cooking utensils and much more.
The location is amazing and Faeze and her beautiful family were happy exploring all that Newport has to offer. We are grateful to have met and hosted this wonderful family.
We stayed a weekend in May, the house is beautiful, location incredible and the owners seemed nice and understanding...at first. During our stay we did damage a rug. The owner was there and said no problem, just take it to the trash...she didn't seem bothered and told a story of how she had done the same in college. So we took the rug out to the trash. Both days we had 5 people cleaning the apartment from top to bottom. An hour after we left she took all of our deposit (significant), claiming she had to hire a mover to take the rug out, and the apartment was disgusting. Obviously we wanted to pay for what we had damaged so all I asked for was a receipt for what she bought. I would have asked fora receipt whether it was a small amount or all of the deposit. She never responded. After 3 weeks of dealing with VRBO she was finally able to supply a receipt to them. If that's not strange, the receipt was for a rug that cost $700. Again we want to take responsibility for what we damaged, we own that. However wouldn't someone be a little more upset if they had to pay a lot out of their own pocket for a rug, instead of saying, "no problem." The whole situation was a little sketchy, so make sure if you stay here, you check the tags on everything and if you don't feel like cleaning yourself, maybe hire cleaners. But again, amazing space, perfect location.

I do my best to screen anyone coming in to stay. In 12 years of renting thru VRBO I have NEVER kept a security deposit until now. This group said they were going to a reunion but instead partied all weekend in the house until 3 in the morning each night although they knew others were in the house. The damage to the rug was vomit on the rug, bedding and floors. The rug was hung over the railing by the tenant but to my shock and horror the bedding was bunched up and left on my wood floors for days. I asked them to remove the rug since they had a truck and they threw it next to the trash which the city does not accept (it has to be in a container). I had to hire my contractor to remove the rug and dispose of it, pay the cleaning service more to launder and scrub for DAYS to remove the odor, replace the rug and pillows which was MORE than the deposit. The renter released my phone number and they harassed me for weeks--I supplied ALL the receipts to VRBO and PHOTOS per their policy and STILL the tenant complained. Take responsibility for your actions if you damage a persons home--we give you a beautiful place and you abuse it, what do you expect? A horrible experience!

Overall, the location of the house was very nice and the rooms were spacious. There was only one bathroom as access to the outside bathroom was not given. It was inconvenient to have to bring your own towels and sheets as you have to pay quite a hefty cleaning fee. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. In addition, there was only one roll of paper towels and no napkins. Information regarding the need to bring these items was not mentioned in the description. In the kitchen there was only one bowl and some of the other glassware had stains on them. There was garbage outside by the garbage cans that looked like it had been seen there for a few weeks. In addition, there were very few mirrors in the house making getting ready a challenge. The location was great, however the accommodations and amenities could certainly use some improvement for the price you are paying.

We are an alternative to an inn so to expect bed service such as sheets and towels would drive the cost up but we do offer sheets/towels to traveling guests and ask they be laundered or a service will pick them up for 45.00--I call each guest to remind them. The COST is much lower than an inn so I feel its unfair to expect the same service--this is a house rental. We supply paper towel, a new sponge, dish clothes, dish soap, hand soap in the bathroom as well as the kitchen, hair shampoo and conditioner to start (same as a hotel) and a bath mat and have blow dryers. My glassware is brand new and was not dirty as we washed each new piece prior to this rental--all our dishes are new William Sonoma and we have plenty of everything. Tina is upset because she was charged for some damage--in 12 years we have only had 2 issues which are photographed and explained to VRBO. Partiers need not apply! This is a quality home for families and wedding groups.

Crisp & clean
The apartment was clean and fairly well appointed. One of the bedrooms is a 'pass-through' which might be difficult for some. Everything we needed was within walking distance. We look forward to returning to Newport, as there are so many historical sites to visit. The post-Christmas through New Years time period was hopping with activity everywhere. Enjoy!
