Welcome to the family friendly community of Slaughter beach, DE where the preferred mode of transportation by the locals is a bicycle or a golf cart, so slow your roll and acclimate. Please feel free to bring yours along and be ready to sharpen your hand signaling skills.
Make the best of your time indoors and outdoors with the amenities at this updated home which sits on 3/4 of an acre of beach front property with unobstructed views. The U-shaped driveway provides ample space for parking pretty much anything (non-commercial) on wheels. A two car garage is also available for keeping your vehicle out of the elements. A 40A EV car charger (about 30miles for each hour of charging) is also available in the garage for your convenience.
For the water sports enthusiast, there's plenty of room to launch your kayak, a day sailer or even a catamaran. There's also a public boat ramp a stones throw away (yeah, you would need a pretty strong arm) to launch your jet ski, sloop or any motorized boat. For those who travel light, there are a couple of kayaks available to suit the occasion.
The inside features all the modern amenities and conveniences to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen features granite countertops with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher and garbage disposal. You’ll never run out of hot water in the 2 newly remodeled spa-like bathrooms because of the tankless water heater with enough suds to spare on account of the whole house water softener. Both bathrooms also feature towel warmers and heated flooring for those nippy days. LED lighted mirrors are also available to shave or put your makeup on.
With 5 distinct outdoor sitting spaces, you can have your pick to suit the mood or the occasion. There’s a screened porch with water views, attached to an open deck with glass balusters with same unobstructed water views. For the early risers, these 2 spots on the east side of the property are perfect for watching the sunrise. Below deck is a wrap around brick patio with an informal outdoor shower to wash yourself off if engaged in any outdoor activities. Around the corner is a “Green Egg” charcoal grill for the grill aficionado, so get ready to put your grill on.
For the sunset lovers, there’s a dedicated deck on the west side of the property available for the occasion.

A great place to stay to see the horseshoe crabs at Full moon! Nicely equipped house on the perfect quiet beach. Close enough to restaurants and stores to be easy…
We had a great stay at Nirvana on the beach. The views from the home were beautiful. The screened in porch was great to sit outside and enjoy the view without worrying about bugs and came in handy during rainy days. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay.
the place was lovely, and well appointed inside. we had expected beach front to have beach access, but we were happy to be within a reasonable drive to a beach suitable for children. wi-fi easy, internet impossible, so no computer or tv and we were too engaged to bother calling for further instructions, so that's on us.

Horseshoe crab safari
Great location to witness the world renowned horseshoe crab spawning and shorebird stopover. Close to Cape Henlopen State Park to fit in a day at the ocean beach.
This was a lovely spot with a beautiful view. There was plenty of room to have a few friends stay for several nights and then have family visit as well. The kitchen/dining area was fine for eating, chatting and playing games and we really enjoyed the deck and screened in porch. Although the weather was not that great, there are places to visit that are only a short drive away.
Great house in a quiet location. The house had tons of things for us to use (ping pong table, beach cart, etc) and a wonderful outdoor space the kids loved.
The value we got from this property was incredible! Beautiful sunrise and sunsets both viewable from the house. The deck was great to relax and read a book on. Sunroom was a great place for conversing with family. Bathrooms were very clean and had many neat features.
We had a great time here. The house was absolutely lovely! The only issue we had was that I did not check the tides before going and we were surprised by the lack of use of the ocean during low tide. However it was still nice to walk and look for shells during low tide.
Beautiful area, the foliage that faces the Delaware Bay is overgrown and obstructing the view of the bay. I don't know if that can be cut back or modified, the last time we stayed there we could see straight out and walk to the bay. Not this time. The house is very comfortable and well maintained.
We had a wonderful stay. The house was perfect. It was clean and tidy. It had lots of amenities including the use of the garage, sensor lights, great electronics and a ping pong table. There were crabs on the beach that we found fascinating. The circling birds ( trying to eat the crabs ) were a bit loud at times, but this did not diminish the lovely beach vibe. We would recommend this house to others looking to stay in the area. Get the taffy at Dolle’s in Rehoboth. Go to the Lavender Farm in Milton. Take the ferry to Cape May, New Jersey!
We had an awesome stay at this house! It was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a relaxing family getaway. The host was super responsive, and very helpful and provided awesome tips. The fast EV charger was a huge plus. The location was peaceful and felt close to nature. We loved hanging out on the decks and the screened-in porch—so many great views! The garage was huge with ping pong table and bikes. The beach nearby was quiet and untouched. It’s not your typical sunbathing spot, but walking along the shore and spotting horseshoe crabs and birds was a cool experience. No crowds, no noise—just calm and beauty. But also 20-25 drive away from all the big beaches, and the drive back and forth were amazing with beautiful sights and experiences. Definitely will come back and recommed to friends.
This fabulous home is the best rental we've ever experienced. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch, listening to the birds and enjoying the view of the Delaware Bay. Our hosts were fabulous too. So responsive and helpful. Will always remember it fondly! Yes, it was and is Nirvana! Thank you Abu!
Home provided a peaceful vacation experience. Better outdoor upkeep would have improve the beautiful views.
Beach access for walking was not an option. Horseshoe crab shells prevented
this activity. Trees blocking the ocean's views made enjoying the beach limited.
Great location. Nice home. Overall very
nice home.
this activity.
Very economical in the off-season, all updated, modern amenities, as well as all linens, paper products, and kitchen basics. The house is very nice, but at least while we were there, the beach was inaccessible due to washed-up flotsam. The saltmarsh reserve is right across the street. There was a lot of local construction, but other than that, the neighborhood was quiet. Abubakar was extremely responsive to anything we asked for. But a very comfortable bed and up-to-date bathrooms made for a very pleasant stay. Loved the EV charger in the garage!
We loved this house and the location. It felt so natural and relaxing. The house was clean, easy to access and provided plenty of space for our family. We particularly loved the decks, balconies and screened in porch which all provided great views into all directions! We also loved the fact that there was a garage with a ping pong table, bikes, etc. for the kids to use. It is particularly helpful on a rainy day.The beach was as expected - untouched and natural. It was not the beach you typically find if you want to bring your towel, lay on the sand and enjoy great waves. Instead, yes there were many dead horseshoe crabs but it was amazing to see. Not a sight you find many other places. We walked along the shore and observed the surroundings. Much to our surprise there was really no smell at all. When the tide went out, you could walk far out into the sand. We loved it, it was far away from crowds and noises and you see (and hear) birds everywhere, but close enough that you could drive to any busy beach nearby. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place in its natural state, this is surely a place to be!We had a great stay!
The house was great and the deck and screened in porch were awesome for enjoying the unseasonably warm temperatures we had for the weekend. We weren't able to use the speaker/music system because it was too complicated. The view was amazing from the house. However, we were not sure if it is a normal thing, but the beach in front of the house was disgusting - there was a covering of brown debris and horsehoe crab carcasses so there was not sand/beach to go out on. We did drive a little way down the road to a public access, but we were disappointed we didn't have beach access at the house. Overall, nice place!

House was fine, beach was not
The house was clean and well maintained. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable. Some of the other furniture was comfortable, some was not. Kitchen was adequately equipped, though pots, pans, dishes, and glasses could use reorganization and refresh.
The biggest issue was the beach. The main attraction to the house is that it is beachfront but the beach was unusable. It was completely covered with dead horseshoe crabs and crab shells from the shoreline to the dunes and as far as could be seen in either direction. The dead crabs smelled terrible and attracted black flies. When the tide went out the area that wasn't littered with the crabs was more stones than sand. We had to drive twenty minutes south to Broadkill Beach to get in any beach time. That was a deal breaker for us. The point to renting a beachfront house is to be able to walk out the door and enjoy the beach.

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback. It always helps us make the necessary refinements to make our guests stay more comfortable. I am sorry that your stay wasn't what you expected.
Much as it's hard to see right now, that is not par for the course for the beach. If it was, the beach would've closed down years ago and no one would ever return, which isn't the case. We have regatta's and other other beach activities, i.e. beach yoga on the beach, which is well attended.
Conditions might not have been optimal because of the weather (yes, really all boils down to weather), but most beaches go through not so optimal conditions occasionally.
Bottom line, your expectation wasn't met and for that I'm sorry.
A quiet shore location with a great view of the water and driving distance to various beaches. Property had plenty of amenities. Owner was communicative and helpful. Thanks!
Great communication with owner, and he was a gracious host. Our favorite part of the house was the deck overlooking the bay. So comfortable and relaxing! We enjoyed the area and also visited Lewes, Broadkill, Rehoboth, and the DuPont Nature Center.
