Beautifully situated and exceptionally responsive owner.
This cozy 3 bedroom house is suitable for a small group of family or friends. It is on a large lot which is very well laid out. There is a beautiful view, lovely sunrise and amazing stars at night.Inside the house all appliances work very well and the kitchen is well-equipped. Bathrooms are also fine. The living area and dining room are very comfortable, and there is another living area and desk on the upper level where the bedrooms are. When we arrived the area was in a period of unusual summer heat and humidity, and the house was uncomfortable despite an air conditioning unit on each level. We contacted Michael, the owner, and within a few hours people were there to install 2 more ac units and the problem was solved. Other minor problems were dealt with with similar efficiency and concern.Altogether we were very happy with our stay, and would certainly return.

Beautiful views and well kept home
The mountain home is in a great location for mountain hiking. You will be able to see some wonderful views out the windows. The home is clean and well kept. We have stayed here more than once and would definitely rent it again.
This is our 3rd year staying in Jay and every year is just as good as the last. We all love it here: the dogs (who know where we are when we turn in the driveway) to the kids have more than enough outdoor things to do to the parents who can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is well situated for a home base for hiking and travel to nearby towns or just popping down the road to swim in the Ausable.
Stayed here while attending the Ironman participated in by my daughter. Quiet place away from the hustle and bustle in Lake Placid. Scenic view of the mountains was fantastic.
VRBO (not the owner) listed a hot tub amenity that was not present. Owner is very responsive and very apologetic for VRBO’s mistake.
A great hopping off point withe lots to do in the area.
We were up in the region for the World Cup Ski Jumping Event at Lake Placid. This property was a short drive away. We explored The following areas: Keene , Keene Valley, Jay, Wilmington, Lake Placid, Lake Saranac, and Tupper Lake. The property was a lovely and comfortable respite at the end of the day. Listing is on point . We were able to stream the Super Bowl . Would definitely consider rebooking if heading to that area.
Whiteface skiing and Lake Placid amenities- one month staycation
The most attentive owner we ever interacted with. A fabulous location and ambiance. The home is exactly as shown with ideal location for Whiteface skiing and all Lake Placid events. This was our once in a lifetime vacation combined with volunteering for the FISU World University Winter Games. This beautiful, modern home had all we needed for a fantastic stay. A brand new stove and large screen TV added to the experience.
It was quite obvious this homeowner has great concern that you experience why he cares to maintain his home for guests.
The house is in a great location, only 15 mins to the Whiteface Ski Slopes and 25 mins to Lake Placid. Also, it is close to the high peaks hiking area with many beautiful family friendly trails.
We stayed for 7 nights for Christmas. We were able to cook and use the grill. There are fews things that are requiring some attention such the carpets upstairs are getting a bit too stained, some ladybugs trouble. Also, the tv was broken and there were no board games.
The beautiful mountain views made up for the other inconveniences.
Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Central location, nice base for outdoor activities New Years Eve 2023
Stayed with family to see Lake Placid area and also for some ice climbing and winter hiking. The house was snug and warm, the fireplace awesome, well supplied with firewood. We cooked a few meals, and everything needed was available from cookware to spices. Beds were comfortable, hot water plentiful. House is way back on a little road nicely away from everything.
There were lots of lady bugs joining us in the house - getting away from the cold no doubt since that is a problem in the north. Owner was responsive regarding questions and though we had some trouble with the washing machine, based on his response about a new driveway problem (to bring gravel in to level before the next renter) I am sure he would get that fixed pronto.
I would definitely recommend this for a great base for the outdoor lovers out there. Great central location in the Adirondacks.
We had a lovely time spending a few days in this remote property. The back yard view is just beautiful and peaceful looking out over Jay Mountain. It was just the relaxation that two essential workers and the kids needed to wind down and reconnect after the last 2 years of COVID! Would love to see it change with the seasons!
Every morning in this house, we enjoyed the most wonderful sunrise coming up over the scenic mountain view. Our dog also loved the sunrise and was often found admiring the backyard full of nature through the grand corner windows on both stories of the house. Speaking of the house, we found everything we needed and got comfortable quickly. Morning coffees were enjoyed on the charming porch and it's fun to hang out down near the terrace/fire pit area. It was easy to take the dog on short walks from the house, and there's plenty of hiking in the area; we ventured up Baxter Mountain with the dog as well. We highly recommend the Ice Jam Inn Restaurant that's nearby and Lake Placid is only about 20 minutes away. We would definitely come stay again!
It is a three bedroom home , each room had beautiful views of the mountains!! We had everything we needed, linens were provided. It was great to be together with my young adult sons. Nice family vacation
We would love to rent in the summer also. Thanks Mike
This house was perfect for our family. The views were beautiful and the kids loved exploring all around the woods! It was peaceful and close to whiteface mountain!! Loved everything about it had a wonderful time!!!
The house is in a beautiful spot and has spectacular views of the mountains and sky (including night sky). Kim, the property manager was incredibly helpful and responsive.
My family and I very much enjoyed this property. Great views and the feeling of being off the grid while only being a short drive from a main road. Will certainly hope to stay here again!
Wonderful house, close to Jay, but hidden in the woods. Close enough to hiking trailheads, but allowed us to have a peaceful spot to relax at the end of the day. Had everything we needed for two adults, two kids, and two dogs. Great views to the Jay range and a covered porch and chairs to enjoy the beginning/end of the day. Will definitely be back in the future.
A friend and I were lucky enough to get to spend three months at this amazing home. The location is perfect for skiing, hiking, fly-fishing, and many other great outdoor activities. The house is up a beautiful private road, and it has a stunning view of the river valley and nearby mountain range. We spent as much time as possible soaking in the view from the porch and backyard. There is also a grilling area with a picnic table. The house is large and comfortable, and has a great kitchen. The host was very responsive and helpful whenever we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer - we will definitely be back.
My husband and I -- together with our mountain-climbing beagle, spent a little less than a week in this great house. It's a perfect rental for outdoors-lovers and has a very cool sunken grotto with beautiful vines climbing all over grapevines on the ceiling. Also in this grotto is a new-looking grill and great fire-pit!
It was wonderful for us that the owners let owners bring well-behaved (no-dogs on beds is their rule) dogs. Floor coverings and furnishings are attractive and confortable, and may have been chosen with the "dogs-are-allowed" idea in mind---i.e, were easy to keep clean.
The Lake Placid area has SO many beautiful rivers, falls, ponds, and woodland hikes to offer. We wished we had another week or two! Obviously, we'll be looking to return soon.
Many thanks to the owners for letting others share this mountain paradise!
It was pretty warm and sunny when we were there. But the two well-placed and strong air conditioners had no trouble bringing the second floor bedrooms to a nice sleeping sleeping.
If you are looking for a wonderful and quite place to stay, look no further! The house is beautiful and well maintained. The best feature is the side porch and the amazing view you will get to see everyday of the Jay mountains. The view alone would have me rent this home again.
The property owner, Michael was great to deal with! We had an issue with the grill, I emailed him, he responded quickly and the next day someone came out, assess the problem and fixed it.
If you decide to book this property you will not be disappointed.
We have stayed for a week in June for the last 3 years. It is a clean spacious home with a wonderful view. Great location for mountain hiking. Property Manager is responsive and helpful.

Very comfortable house with a fantastic view!
The view is fantastic. I could have stayed on the property and watched the morning clouds move along the mountains as the sun rose. The house is nicely situated in a woodsy area off of the main road. You can hear traffic, faintly, in the background but the place is very quiet.
The house is spacious and very comfortable. It has all the amenities a house should have. Marlene, who manages the property, is extremely helpful and very available.
If it is very hot the upstairs bedrooms can be hot - there are some window fans and a ceiling fan to help.
