About this property

Fantastic House In Grand Marais! Walking Distance To Downtown!

NOTE: We have two other properties! One is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, within 1 mile of downtown. The Westside Getaway property is #2240069. The other is the Harbour View Getaway which is also a 3 bedrooms 2 bath property #3379024.


Our Grand Marais Getaway has been a vacation rental for 10 years, and is licensed with the State of Minnesota. It is a bright and spacious home just one block from beautiful Lake Superiorand downtown, in the "coolest small town in America", Grand Marais, MN.

The house sleeps 6-8 people in its three bedroom (2 queens, 1 double, and a couch with pull out bed that is another queen bed. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with a tub/shower, and the other has a shower stall.
We provide Wifi, and Hulu television. There is also a ping pong table in the lower room, which is 4 steps down from the main level. The lower room also has a couch with pull out bed, as well as a bathroom and reading nook. Enjoy a book from our library in our handcrafted twig chairs!
In the warmer months, spend some time in the small studio building nestled in the backyard. It is a great spot for yoga!
The Grand Marais Getaway is within walking distance to all of the downtown. There are many quaint shops, some spectacular restaurants, 2 local breweries, The North House Folk School, and the Grand Marais Art Colony.
For the more adventurous, there the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Lutsen Mountains, and tons of great hiking and mountain biking.
The Grand Marais Getaway is just what you are looking for....a Northwoods style home, near all of the amenities you could want.

Warm and cozy place to unwind after our days spent at the North House Folk School! (Even during a cold spell with -30* outdoor temps and -61 wind chill). The kitchen is well-supplied with excellent quality cooking equipment, as is the game room with puzzles, books and games. Host communication was responsive and friendly. Highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the North Shore!

We had a wonderful stay here over Thanksgiving. The house is warm, cozy and immaculately clean. You cannot beat the location, walking distance to the harbor and downtown Grand Marais. A lovely "home away from home" and the ping pong table was enjoyed by all! Also this home is dog friendly which was essential for us. The heated floors were loved by us and our pup. We will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic house is exactly right! Stocked for tons of fun! Great layout. Special little places to relax inside and out! Feels very private with all of the trees. Easy walk to downtown for shopping and eating. The beds are so so comfortable!

Great Cabin in the Heart of Grand Marais

The cabin has all you need for your stay in Grand Marais. Plenty of space, including a fun rec room with ping pong table. Easy walk to everything in town.

This is our second stay at "The Getaway" & we just love it. Our host is quick to respond & left us a nice welcome gift upon arrival. We love the cabin-like feel to this home in town. It is clean, has everything you need and is well organized for winter or summer. The entry area allows you to come in from the cold & snow & not drag it through the house. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. We cooked most of our meals in the house & had everything we needed. It is well located with in walking distance to downtown bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries & shops. It is also right off the start of the GFT. We will be back as we love this area. We tried sledding with the grand kids this time, and that too is close by the house. I highly recommend this property.

Anniversary, Birthday, Mother’s Day, we had a great time in a very cute home! Proximity to lake and shops was very convenient! 17 month old grandson was head over heels for the rocky beach!! I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return again myself!

This was our second time staying at this particular VRBO and we just love it for our family! Our boys are 10 and 8 and it was perfect for all of us to have our own room and the ping-pong table game room. It was fantastic! Well in the front, there’s an awesome fire pit to sit and enjoy and stare at the stars!Location is fantastic for downtown Grand Marais because of the ease of going up to the gun Flint Trail into the bounder Waters and going up for tons of hikes very centrally located!
