Wonderful basement apartment. Spacious but very comfortable. Set in a quiet area outside town. Greg provided great information immediately before we arrived and was very responsive to our questions. Highly recommended; we would return if we are in the area again.

Perfect place indeed

This is a great place to stay. Quiet neighborhood, out of town but not too far out. This is my second time here and both times have been great. I would definitely recommend.

Peaceful & Beautful

We highly recommend staying here. The basement apartment was very clean and comfortable and the host Greg was always available if we needed anything or had any questions. We had a very peaceful and relaxing vacation there.

Awesome Property!

This was an absolute great property! It’s super clean, has everything you need, beds are really comfortable, and it’s in a very quiet neighborhood. We even saw deer sleeping in neighboring yards when we were coming in at night. The host was super great! Communication was top notch and he even accommodating us staying a few hours later than checkout to accommodate our flight. This will stay as my #1 top pick when coming back to this area. Thanks for making it a great stay and weekend for us!

BEST VRBO EVER - FIVE STARS

We have used VRBO many times. Usually, we feel like the stay was OK. This time the stay was great. Great location in a quiet safe upscale family neighborhood. Exceptionally clean. Everything you can imagine was available in the unit. My wife like the candle in the main room so much she ordered one while we were there. I was even able to get the TVs to work without calling for assistance. Oh yeah, great host too! Comfortable bed, comfortabe seats etc. All good at this VRBO.

Home away from home

We came to Tennessee for a friends wedding and needed a nice place we could bring our dog. Greg was very accommodating and communicative throughout our trip and before. I had questions before booking and he replied within 10 minutes. He answered all my questions and was very kind and helpful. When we arrived he messaged to check in and see if we found everything okay. The place was exactly like the pictures and description. The neighborhood is very nice, quiet and safe. It gets dark out there and walking a dog you want to feel safe in your surroundings. This is the place to stay. Don’t look any further, just press book! It is located to a lot of things. Downtown Kingsport is not far. There are tons of shops and things to do nearby. We enjoyed our time at Greg’s place.

Great stay

The property was in a very nice neighborhood and the rental was very clean and the listing clearly outlined the interior, furnishings and amenities. The location was great for visiting Kingsport and Johnson City. The owner was very responsive. We had a great stay.

Property was excellent, clean and well appointed. Owners live upstairs but were not there most of the day. Neither were we so that worked out great! Always available though for any questions we had. Met our needs very well for our visit to Kingsport. Thank you Greg and Shirley!

Perfect!

It was different to stay in the basement apartment of the owners home but everything was perfect for what we needed. Greg was super attentive and communicated well to make our stay so nice. Unit was super clean and so spacious. It was convenient to the NHRA nationals event we attended. We would definitely stay again if we get back this way.

Thanks so much, Greg and Shirley! You thought of everything to make our stay effortless. Just halfway between our daughter and her family, and our son and his family = a very family Thanksgiving week! The bed was soft and comfy, pillows fresh and plump, hot water excellently hot quickly. The recliner-sofas were great for lounging and resting after busy visits and comings and goings. One for him (facing TV) one for me (facing fireplace) = total relaxation :) Thank you so much! Rachel & Lyman OH - and the maple tree across the street was FABULOUS!! and golden.

Wonderful Place and Even Better People

Owners Greg and Shirley Buchanan are both originally from upstate NY. Shirley is the director of a Senior Center and Greg oversees IT for 63 pizza restaurant locations. Both love to travel and use Home Away often. The two have 5 grandchildren that light up their life and they love spending time with. Both Greg and Shirley love antiquing, flea markets and auctions. Shirley enjoys crafts and sewing. Both love movies both in the theater and watching at home. Both are looking forward to retirement!

This property is a complete basement apartment with its own entrance and private drive. It is spacious and has been furnished to meet the needs of a temporary traveler. The unit has a kitchenette complete with a microwave, refrigerator, crock pots, and a one eye electric burner. It also has an outdoor grill and outdoor seating area.
