Originally 2 rural houses 'Cortijo Los Pelaes' has been sympathetically rebuilt to the highest of specifications using a blend of old and new Andalusia styles. With plenty of internal space & 4 private terraces it offers luxury holiday with accommodation ideal for families to enjoy, in complete comfort.

The house has been furnished and equipped to the highest of standards and provides a true 'home away from home' experience, A 9m private pool with stunning mountains as the backdrop and an expansive paved pool surround and garden terracing. The Cortijo is approached up a short track which sees minimal traffic other than the occasional farmer on his tractor. Olive groves and mountains make up the scenery with the village of Rosario in the distance is a one kilometre drive/walk away.
Rosario Village has all the necessary amenities including petrol, bank, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tapas bars and restaurants.
We are one of the few properties in the area officially certified by Ministry of Tourism in 2016 as a 'Rural tourism house' of the highest standard.
It you are looking for a peaceful rural getaway in Andalusia - the 'real Spain'- Cortijo Los Pelaes this is the place for you. We also have WIFI if you need to be connected whilst away.

We are 30 mins north of Malaga and the busy tourist destinations of Costa de Del Sol. Waterparks, beaches, Scuba diving, international boutiques and nightlife abound.

An hours drive north east brings you to Granada, home to the famous moorish palace of The Alhambra.A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Booking is essential.
Granada stands at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada-The skiing worlds best kept secret. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. The season runs through until early April and ski schools in Sierra Nevada speak English and are very friendly. The owners can recommend suitable establishments.
The cities of Cordoba (1.5hrs) and Seville (2hrs) are a day trip away, as well as the historical and cultural towns of Ronda and Jerez.

Outdoor activities: The local countryside affords the traveler great opportunities to discover Spain's wildlife, bird life and fauna. The landscape is ideal for walking and cycling, wonder amongst the surrounding olive groves or hike amongs the surrounding hills and mountains.

Great villa (we all agreed the photos didn't do it justice). Highlights were the amazing views, the pool and lots of great little areas you could go off to if you wanted time alone. the villa itself is well equipped with everything you need for a great stay (kitchen with everything you would need, pool and tennis table, books, pool toys etc, BBQ area with it's own fridge and eating area). Can't think of anything we felt was missing. A car is definitely needed to get around but we did walk into the village every morning for coffee before sun became too hot. Would highly recommend this villa and thank you for hosting us

Amazing holiday in a beautiful villa!

We stayed in this villa in August and had the most amazing time. The host could not have been more accommodating. The house is equipped with everything you could hope for. The views across the mountains are gorgeous and the garden and pool area are just perfect. Thank you for letting us enjoy this beautiful villa!

This is a very nice, very comfortable, very spacious and well-equipped home in a great location. The kitchen is really well-equipped, all the bedrooms are big. The wi-fi is great, both inside the house and in the extensive outdoor areas. The pool is a good size & loungers very comfortable. Check-in and all communications was faultless and the owners provide very comprehensive directions and helpful tips on the local area.The house is less than 5 minutes from the small town of Villanueva del Rosario, which has a good supermarket - and only 40 minutes from Malaga, an hour from Granada & a little more to Cordoba. There's a huge Carrefour supermarket less than half an hour away in the lovely town of Antequera.

Fantastic getaway

We have had a very relaxing well earned break in this beautiful authentic villa. The children have spent the fortnight swimming and playing pool which left my husband and I time to catch up with reading, chatting and listening to music. We highly recommend it to get away from everything!!!

beautiful villa

this is a very spacious villa recently completely renovated to the highest standard with amazing attention to detail including beautiful andalusian tiling in all the bathrooms. it is in a stunning location on the edge of the village but close to restuarants and only 30 minutes from Malaga or an hour from Granada and the amazing Alhambra palace. There was plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and 4 children and the kitchen is very well equipped, behind the villa is a track leading to endless olive groves where it is very safe for children to roam.

Outstanding villa

We couldn't recommend this villa enough - we spent a week here in July and it wasn't long enough, none of us wanted to leave! The villa is stunning with an enormous living area downstairs and large bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms - all perfect for our party of 11 (including 5 young children). The villa is incredibly well equipped from all the mod-cons in the kitchen, air conditioning throughout, to DVDs and Playstation games. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or efficient during the booking process and provided lots of information about the villa and local attractions etc. The villa is very well maintained and immaculate throughout. In all a fantastic holiday!

Perfect Property

The house was beautiful and had the perfect amount of space for our family and our friends family. We had 9 total people. We picked the property based on reviews and they were all correct and true. The villa is located near the small town of Villanueva del Rossario, which is small, but we ate lunch at a local restaurant and it was delicious. Alyson's help in planning our arrival, and knowledge of the area was such a huge help! The villa is located in such a central location. We did a lot of driving but saw the entire south west and east of the country. Beautiful!!

Large family villa in a great location

Lovely well kept pool and garden. Large gas barbeque with fridge, sink and work area as well as a big dining table with built in benches to enjoy al fresco dining. A nice quiet location with great view of the mountain and the local village below. The villa iteslf is big enough that there is always a quiet area to retreat to if you need some 'me time'. The kitchen is fully equiped with oven, range, microwave, fridge etc. and all the utensils, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery you could possibly need. The lounge area is full of games both electronic and physical, as well as a large tv. The table tennis table was a hit with everyone giving hours of fun for all. Both Rob and Patzianne were always available to give advice whenever needed. Overall we had a great holiday at Los Pelaes and would certainly consider returning again.

Great villa!

Great villa, convenient location, very close to motorway, easy access. The villa, its garden and multiple terraces and outdoor spaces are well suited to large families (we were 2 families with teenagers and with the grandparents), everyone found their space. The kitchen is well organised and equipped, lots of fridge and cooking space, including the outdoor kitchen. Rob and Patsy were responsive in case of need (we run out of gaz) and the groceries shopping before arrival was well appreciated. 4/5 stars for the accuracy of online listing as the bedrooms arrangement wasn't quite as listed (although we figured out it would be fine for us from the pictures and pre-booking contact with Alyson). It was very hot during our stay, the air con worked well in the rooms ( less so in the mezzanine, as highlighted pre-booking), the pool was appreciated, and there was enough shade outside for all. We had a truly enjoyable week. Thank you

Superschöne Villa

Die Villa ist wirklich superschön und wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick wohl gefühlt und konnten den Urlaub mit 11 Personen genießen. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, sehr gepflegt und es fehlt absolut an nichts. Die Außenanlagen sind sehr schön und der Pool groß genug, um eine paar Runden zu schwimmen. Mit der direkten Anbindung (3 Minuten) an die Autobahn ist man auch schnell am Meer. Also: Eine absolute Empfehlung von uns.

Hemos estado una semana con toda la familia. (12 personas) La casa es muy espaciosa, cómoda y limpia. La atención de los dueños ha sido buenísima. Muy atentos para que estemos comodísimos. (Muchas gracias por el vino y el queso). La zona y vistas preciosas. El pueblo muy acogedor y la gente de la zona muy amable. La gastronomía de la zona buenísima y económica. I would go back tomorrow

This is a great location to explore Andalucia. A perfect setting for explorations during the day then returning to a comfortable relaxing location. We ranged from 10 to 73 and found plenty of quiet space if needed or locations where we could all gather around for fun and conversation. Our stay the third week in June was perfect. The weather was spectacular as were the views. We kept the windows open and no air conditioning was needed. The pool was a refresher after touring in the hot sun. We sampled the multiple outside eating areas and seemed to eat later and later each eveing. The town of Rosario was fun to browse through and the kids liked shopping at the Tuesday market. We found this a perfect base for travels to Secilla, Cordoba, Granada and Rhonda. Would not hesitate to return.

Fantastic Christmas and New Year whole family holiday.

We stayed as a whole family over Christmas and New Year, 10 people in total, 3 couples and 4 teenage grandchildren. The wall heater units coped well with the log burner adding heat most evenings. Everybody was comfortable with the house warming up more as the days passed. We had great weather, frosty nights with clear blue sky sunny days. The pool table was brilliant and the weather was warm enough for the table tennis table to be used outside. The sun loungers were even used one day! The many seating options outside meant we could always sit in the sun somewhere. The kitchen worked well as did the cooker, we managed a large roast dinner for everybody on Christmas day. Drying clothes was obviously more difficult in winter, however we sorted that problem with two extra temporary washing lines in the sun. All in all a very lovely house in a beautiful location even at Christmas very comfortable.

Very comfortable home with stunning views of rural Andalucia

We enjoyed a very happy 3 week stay at this lovely property. It was so relaxing and had all amenities. We also enjoyed visits to Cordoba and Granada, Malaga and Antequera and the surrounding coastal spots. Our vacation was in August and so HOT, but I can honestly say that the house never felt hot and we enjoyed the pool whilst benefitting from the terrace which was always cool. This was so important for us with a tiny baby grand daughter as part of our holiday group. A car is a necessity in this part of Andalucia if you want to get out and about. The owners provided us with a lot of information about local places to visit and local supermarkets and restaurants. All in all, I don't know where the time went? We had a lot of fun as a family group in a lovely home which accommodated us all. A holiday we will always remember!

A very quiet relaxing holiday in a beautiful spacious house

We have recently returned from a lovely holiday staying in this beautiful house. We comfortably slept 3 families including 6 adults and 6 children aged between 11 and 14. The house was incredibly clean and has everything you need, including towels for both showering and use around the pool. There was plenty of fridge and freezer space and the kitchen had everything we needed. The outdoor eating area and bbq were well used throughout the holiday. The air con worked well and was very much appreciated in the very warm temperatures. The owners of the house were incredibly helpful throughout the whole booking process and responded very quickly to emails, answering many questions that we asked! Whilst on holiday, Patsy was also very helpful with key information. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Large and nice villa in the countryside north of Malaga, Spain

We spent 10 days of a wonderful vacation in this large villa in September-October 2017. We were four adults and two children. The villa can take another couple. We used only the top floor three bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool, barbecue, pool table, computer games, kitchen, washing machine were used and made our vacation very enjoyable. We only suffered from an ants problem in the kitchen. The location of the villa made it easy for visiting Seville, Ronda, Antequera, Malaga, Cordoba, Granada and Marbella, each in about an hour drive.

Peace and tranquility with great facilities

This villa is very well maintained. It is clean and comfortable with everything you may need for a relaxing break. There is a large well equipped kitchen and plenty of fridge space. The pool is well maintained and does not contain a lot of chemicals. There is a wide variety of games and a pool table. The internet connection was excellent. The satellite tv was not available during our stay. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There are a few different seating areas outside and plenty of loungers round the pool. The water went off at one point for a few hours but this wasn't that inconvenient. You will definitely need a car, it is a 20-25 minute walk into the village although this is quite strenuous for older people. There are a number of bars and restaurants but most places don't serve food until 8-30/9. We also drove into Trebuco a few times which has a bigger selection of places to eat and is only a five minute drive. We also drove to Antequera a few times and went to the supermarket there and ate at the bull ring and a couple of other very good places. The villa is well placed to visit Granada, Seville and we visited Cordoba which was about 1h 20 minutes away and well worth it. We also visited the flamingoes but there was not much water and they were quite a way away. We were well looked after at the villa and I would definitely recommend it if you want peace and quiet.

Lovely home, well equipped in a peaceful location.

We stayed as a family group with two toddlers. Alyson couldn't be more helpful in making sure we were well accommodated, from cots being up and highchairs out, to helping sort out plans for a special birthday while we were there. The house, pool and garden are lovely, offering spacious and comfortable accomodation throughout. The local area was delightful. Just a short drive to a couple of different towns, brimming with choice for fab restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Nice property. Well maintained. Great views.

A well maintained property. Very clean. We were a party of 8 and had plenty of room. Had a little trouble with washing machine since there are no directions in English. You will have to drive if you want to visit the major cities of Andalusia. Granada is an hour away. Sevilla is a little over 2 hours and Córdoba an hour and a half. That said the roads are good and the property is close to main highway but far enough away for peace and quiet. Owner had a lot of good information about the area. Caretaker met us at the house with the keys. Would recommend this property to a friend.

We are a family of four based near London. We love Spain.....and return as much as we can. Ian was brought up on The Balearic Islands and so has a connection with all things Hispanic speaking the language fluently. Our boys are 22 and 18 and have grown up experiencing holidays in Spain and enjoying the villa as their playground with its pool, pool table, and space to run around safely and securely.

Why they chose this property

After travelling extensively both for pleasure and for business we have come up with our dream holiday location with home from home comforts. When travelling with friends, family and extended family we feel it's important that everyone is catered for and has the space to relax and enjoy without feeling cramped, and always having to compromise on space, rooms, beds and facilities.

What makes this property unique

'Home from home' unlike so many rental properties Los Pelaez is equipped to high standard with everything you would find at home. The kitchen boasts a dishwasher , microwave and Siemens double oven and the outdoor entertainment and kitchen area enjoys picturesque mountain views. At night you can experience a wonderful clear nights sky to stargaze. A rural property, but yet easily accessible to all that Andalusia has to offer historical cities, food, wines, beaches etc.
