Kitchen is well stocked . Nice patio with shade right around dinner time. It is a two bathroom , but both bathrooms are ensuites from the two bedrooms.
Enjoyed our stay
The house perfectly setup for 5 adults and had everything we needed. Outdoor space was fantastic! Patio overlooking the lake and mountains with a great yard down to lake to lounge and play.
Easy access to get back into town or head over to Galbraith to do some awesome mountain biking!!

Perfect lake fron house!
Our vacation at Whatcom lake was just perfect. The front yard is practically the lake beach. It's gorgeous! The house has throughout windows with lake views, lots of light and very pleasant. The house itself is great, a spacious living room, nice kitchen, very pleasant bedrooms and a nice loft to enjoy relax and look at the lake. The two kayaks available for us made my husband very happy and were a nice addition to our vacation. We couldn't have asked for more. The owners were very communicative and provided us with many tips about enjoyable places in the area. We initially came to Bellingham to help our daughter to move into a new apartment but it ended to be an extremely enjoyable family vacation. We wish we had a few more days to spend. We wee also extremely lucky to have an amazing weather.
We will absolutely be back!
This property was absolutely delightful! Very relaxing, comfortable & fun kayaking! Kitchen was well equipped & beds comfortable. Nice outside seating available. The only improvement would be to check the dishes & silverware as some were found in cupboards & drawers to still have food on them when we arrived. Thank you for the delightful stay for our family.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Location is good, but property needs TLC
We really appreciated early access to the property being offered. Some Pro's of the cabin:
- location was close to groceries and parks for bike riding and trail walks, it was also close to the beach at B. D, which is were we spent a lot of our days
- bedding and linens were clean and the beds were comfortable
- Had a smart tv, which we used when the weather was bad
- They left toiletries which was very nice
- Beach towels were provided
- Had a dishwasher
However, considering that travel is resuming after 2 years of pandemic, the cleanliness of the property left something to be desired.
I ended up purchasing some cleaning supplies and wiping down the bathrooms, front entry walls, railing, fridge, kitchen walls and light switches, and spraying a fabric sanitizer on the furniture/carpet. We also ended up descaling the Keurig coffee maker, it was dirty, so I gave it a thorough scrubbing and washed out the water tray. The carpeted stairs/areas are quite stained.
There were several squished bugs on the walls that were just left. The ceiling fans, molding, shower tops and ceilings throughout had cobwebs and massive amounts of dust. Some I actually left, because I just didn't feel it was my responsibility.
The upstairs toilet seat is broken, so it slides to the side whenever you sit down, which gave me a nasty pinch. Bathroom fans did not work in either bathroom.
All of that aside, because yes, sometimes lake front cabins can be "rustic" we were disappointed that the children's play set (pictured) was covered in moss/spiderwebs and appeared to have not been maintained in some time. I did my best to clean the swings and slide. We had specifically looked at this property because our three year old son is very active and loves the outdoors - so having the play set was a huge asset.
We also had some issues with the geese - which is NOT the property owners fault, but it would have been awesome to have access to a rake to keep the poop off the lawn and dock. The lawn essentially became a giant poop field every day, and we didn't want to keep calling them for removal.
The neighbor next door seemed polite, but also appeared to be intoxicated most of the time, again, NOT the owners fault but it did make us uncomfortable, so it should be noted for anyone with young kids.
Overall, if this cabin was like the pictures it would have felt fairly priced. It feels like the pictures were from a long time ago. We did leave a night early.
Peter and Sara’s property on the lake is wonderful and just as advertised. Had a great time swimming in the lake and watching beautiful sunsets from the dock!
Had a lovely week stay. Great swimming from the property and fun kayaking. Close to everything in Bellingham and safe neighborhood. Comfortable house for a family. Kids used loft as third bedroom and loved it!
Excellent location and water view/access. Perfect spot to just relax with the sound of the water lapping against dock. Loved having the kayaks to use. Galbraith was a short distance away for mountain biking. Our dog loved the lake Padden trails too.
This lakeside cabin was so great for getting in and on the lake. Just loved our early morning & sunset paddles. So convenient to just have all the boards on the grassy lawn of this place. The big deck was also great - we enjoyed all our meals outside! Sara and Peter were great hosts.
This cabin is exactly what you need in a lakefront cabin. Basic amenities inside located on a beautiful peace of lake front property! Swing set with a hit with the littles (1 and 2 year old) and kayaks for our teen. Fun for the entire family. Host was helpful and responsive.
Our family of 5, fit perfectly in this lakeside home. Open and spacious, tall ceilings with floor to ceiling windows provide a beautiful view of lake from entire home. We enjoyed our stay!!
We had such a great time and would highly recommend this property for a rental. The house was perfect for our family of four, and our two young kids had a blast in the water and on the play structure. The house was very clean and perfectly appointed, and the owners were very responsive if needed.
Comfortable cabin, great hospitality and beautiful views of Lake Whatcom. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet, beautiful spot with good kayaking and hiking access.
We had an amazing time! The cabin was in a great location and the perfect size for our small family. It was well stocked with daily amenities and common areas were well cleaned. Peter and Sara were very responsive for any last minute questions and support. Look forward to booking again!
