Location! Location! Location!

Welcome to Sunny Disposition! Our lakefront home sits on 1.5 acres at the end of a quiet cove in a highly desirable area of the lake, with three marinas (Twin Cove, Mountain Lake, and Norris Dam) just a short boat ride away. Being in a cove, the water is smooth as glass, making it the perfect location to swim and relax without worrying about boat traffic. It's like having your own 1-acre swimming pool! The TVA owns the land on the opposite side of the cove, contributing to the quietness and privacy of our home.

Sunny Disposition is a 2400 SF home with an open floor plan. Wifi is now available. Four bedrooms and a bunk room provide enough beds for 15 people, and the three full bathrooms and one half bath assure privacy for everyone. Two separate living areas provide plenty of seating for everyone.

The first floor includes a fully stocked kitchen, dining area and living room. Vaulted ceilings make the rooms airy and spacious. Four French doors open up to the deck, which includes a gazebo with lots of outdoor furniture. Also on this deck is a dining table that seats six and a gas grill.

Two master bedrooms with newly remodeled private baths are also located on the first floor. Each bedroom has a king bed, and one of the bedrooms has a twin bed with a trundle, making it perfect for a family with small children. A half bath is also included on this floor.

Downstairs is another two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There is a full bath between the two bedrooms. The 400 SF bunk room has two sets of twin beds and a comfy sectional. TV, air hockey, and lots of family friendly games are available on this level. This is a great area for the kids to call their own. There is also a large deck off this area that is under cover in case of a rainy day. Lots of seating is also available on this deck.

The outdoor living space is perfect for the lake. We have almost 2000 SF of deck space, several of the areas being under cover. New steps and two new decks were added in 2016, making the walk to the water a breeze. One of the new decks is right at the water’s edge. Outdoor furniture and an offset umbrella make this deck a perfect place to sit in the shade and watch the kids play in the water. The steps leading to the lake are winding, wide, and beautifully lit. The private dock easily accommodates 3 boats. Two paddle boards and two kayaks are also provided for your enjoyment.

Amenities outside also include a covered front porch with a gas grill, a double entrance asphalt driveway with plenty of room for parking and maneuvering your vehicles, and a fire pit for use at the end of a great day on the lake.

There is a nicely maintained, free boat ramp approximately two miles away by land and one mile by boat. The roads leading to Sunny Disposition are easily navigated. The trip into town to stock up with supplies is close, about 6 miles/15 minutes.

We loved this place so much we came back a second time. The kitchen has everything you could want. The dock is nice with calm water for swimming and fishing. Plenty of parking and things to do inside if it rains. My daughter and I love to read and there were so many books to chose from which was fantastic. Would definitely come back a 3rd time.

Had a great week long vacation at Sunny Disposition! The rooms were larger than we expected and the bunk room in the basement was a great space for the kids. Great location at the end of of a quiet cove. Minutes from Mountain Lake Marina. Property is clean & cozy but spacious. Charming lake decor. Kitchen is well stocked. We had everything we needed. Family vacation

The house had just about everything we needed for our family vacation. Nice view of the lake and the location on the lake was great because there was no boat traffic at all. We swam off the dock with no worries of boats or water traffic! It is a daunting drive back into town so if you are looking for food or shopping, prepare for a 25 minute drive. Nothing is quick unless you have your own boat.

great lake vacation

house is fully stocked with everything you could want or need! it was an oddly chilly rainy week for july but we had fun doing puzzles, playing cornhole, cards, games... enough room for everyone to have their own space when need be also. We had a party of 14, age 4 to 46 and everyone had a blast! Ridge BBQ in town was good for a rainy day and hiking Little Egypt watetfalls was fun also!

Sunny Disposition was the perfect choice for a large family vacation.

We had as many as 18 family members at one point, including 7 grandkids ranging between one and 16 years of age. Everyone had a super time, and we never felt short of space. With plenty to do in the game room and all the water sports during the day, it was an excellent way to gather with family members from several states and have a nice reunion. We will definitely do this again in future years.

perfect getaway

This house has everything! Extra blankets and pillows, TVs in every room, fully stocked kitchen with ice machine, grill, kayaks, paddle boards, floats, even a PS2, diving board and air hockey table! Our stay was wonderful! We barely went to town because everyone was so content on the property. The cove is quiet with no boat traffic. We saw turtles, frogs and a tiny snake and caught bluegills off the dock. We will definitely be back!

This home is beautifully decorated. Regina really did a great job! It was well planned out and accommodated all 15 of us very comfortably. The teenagers enjoyed the bunk room downstairs. Perfect cove house

We had 3 couples, a grandmother and 2 kids in our party. The bedrooms were lovely and the common area was very comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed and the large table was perfect for board games. Bathrooms were beautiful. The dock was so nice for hanging out after a day of cruising on the boat. The best part was the cove! We could swim, paddle board, or just play and we had the whole area to ourselves. Easy access to multiple marinas. What a cool location! House owner was great and easy to talk to. We would like to stay here again.

A fun family get-away on the lake!

Our family had a fabulous time spending Thanksgiving at this beautiful home. The house is warm and spacious. The multiple levels of decks, balconies, and the floating dock really drew us to spend most of our time outdoors. We were unsure how much we would enjoy being on the lake, since it was the off-season, but it was a blast venturing off in the kayaks and paddleboards that are provided at the property. The property owner was very helpful and accomodating, and the communication was great. We hope to come back this summer! Thanks!

What makes this property unique

Definitely the best thing about this house is the location. We are only 15-20 minutes off the highway. The quiet cove was the main thing we were searching for at Norris. Our boat has been beaten up at other rental properties but not here. This is such a nice area for our family to swim and hang out. We absolutely love the cove! The distance from the house to the dock is another huge benefit. This is a much shorter and easier walk than any other place we have stayed! Another great advantage to this location is the close proximity of the marinas…three within ten minutes!
