One of the newer builds on KY Lake. Builder handed over the keys in 2015. 4 bedroom, 2 bath with New everything! Covered porches that overlook the lake. Boat parking at the house. Private boat dock with built in sun shelf. Completely furnished except your personal belongings. Less than a mile from Moor's Marina, boat ramp, restaurant, and playground for kids. Location may be the best on the Lake as well, just across from popular local spots-"the sands" and "the rock quarry". Very gentle slope to the water. Walk out downstairs and stroll to the dock to fish, watch boats go by or swim. New grill-gas for your cookouts! Or we have several favorite restaurants just a few minutes away. NEW FOR 2021 - PUFFY MATTRESSES FOR KING AND QUEEN BED, NEW PILLOWS, LINENS, TOWELS and CONCRETE WALKWAYS! Birthday lake trip

We had a wonderful time at Lakin’ Memories for my husband’s 30th birthday. Very clean and spacious house. We spent the majority of time there outside on the decks. Having an on-site boat dock was so helpful and convenient for us. Very friendly owner, he came by and introduced himself in person and wished my husband a happy birthday.

The property is outstanding for our purpose. The house is always clean and well stocked with necessary items. Any communication with owner is always answered promptly. Had issues with washer but the problem was taken care of promptly and to our satisfaction.

Love Lakin Memories

The only reason I don't stay at Lakin Memories when I visit Kentucky Lake is because its already booked. This place is more popular then fleas on a dog. The home is fantastic , the host Ben and his wife have become like family. Oh did I mention the dock for your boat. I want to live in this home. The property Manager Michelle is super helpfull. We will be back!

Book this Lovely Lakeside Retreat!

We loved this property and the personal touches the hosts provide for their guests. The house was very comfortable, clean and cozy. The welcome gift was amazing and touching (no spoilers, but you'll love it, too!). We especially liked just chilling out on the decks watching the fireflies, owls, birds and deer in the back yard. My family was the original owner of Moors Resort and I have stayed in numerous properties in that area over the years. I must say this one was the most comfortable by far. Beds, pillows, shower heads, firm couches, well-stocked kitchen, clean porches, lighting, toiletries...everything was top notch. Highly recommend this property!

Great vacation!

We enjoyed our vacation and would definitely stay at this home again. It was clean and comfortable. It was a good setup for our two family units. Our son and daughter-in-law and granddaughters utilized the downstairs with the three bedrooms and a bathroom and we used the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces, both upstairs and downstairs, for quiet morning coffee or playing with our granddaughters. The owner was responsive and helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We enjoyed the wine and cheese welcome gift too! Since we were near Moor’s and the marina, we ate at Ralph’s which was good and enjoyed ice cream at the marina almost every day when we were out boating. We definitely recommend Larkin’ Memories!

Memories Made

I started scheduling short KY Lake trips with my children, their spouses, and my grandchildren 6 years ago for the purpose of making great family memories. It took us awhile to find the right location and we enjoyed it for a few years until our family outgrew the living space. This year we stayed at Lakin’ Memories and it was wonderful. The accommodations in this new home are very nice with a fully equipped kitchen with lots of extras. The setting is beautiful and we had the use of the boat dock for our pontoon and jet ski. We appreciated the courteous service we received from the owners and thank them for making our trip memorable. We hope to return next year.

Nice place to stay on the lake

We had 3 families staying here for a little over a week. 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and an infant. The layout worked nicely for us all. The home was beautifully decorated and the beds were all very comfortable. The owners thought of everything that would be needed. There were plenty of dishes, silver, cups, pots and pans. We were pleasantly surprised to find toddler plates and utensils as well. We rented a pontoon and were able to make use of the dock for easy loading of supplies which was nice because off all the gear you need with kids. My daughter hid a painted rock on the dock so we hope someone finds it and shares it on the Facebook page “Fort Wayne Rocks”

Fantastic home perfect for a lake vacation

We have rented many VRBO properties over the years, and Lakin’ Memories was truly one of the best. Kentucky Lake is a calm place to boat and safely do water sports, and this property was the perfect place to come home to. It was clean, comfortable, and so well-stocked! This place had it all—extra comfy blankets, cooking spices, magazines, movies, books, games, pantry staples! We appreciated the welcome gift basket too! The layout worked well for two families. We all felt like we had enough space. On a vacation like this, the outside of the home is important as well. The dock was perfect for our boat and two wave runners. We easily parked two trailers and three vehicles in the paved driveway/next to the driveway on the gravel. We rented a different property in the area last year and had some issues with the steep parking for our trailers. In addition, the property is conveniently located close to Moor’s Marina, the sand beach, and the quarry. Have I mentioned the decks? Beautiful and so welcoming! We spent a lot of our down time outside enjoying the hammock, patio furniture, and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Both Michelle, the property manager, and Ben, the owner, were so kind and communicated promptly to answer any questions we had. Lakin’ Memories lives up to its name—great family memories were made!

"Lakin' Memories" is true to its name...

One of the most memorable vacations we have been on! The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and homey feeling, and super spacious. Even with 8 kids we had plenty of room! The location couldn't have been better either--very close to Moors Marina (which made it easy to rent/launch boats, jet skis, etc--literally a 2 minute ride on the water and less than 5 minutes driving); the beach ("the Sands") was just across the way and very well kept; and the "Rock Quarry" was quite a popular place with our kids--they loved jumping off the cliff and swinging on the rope! We love that the home is nestled back in a little cove--very peaceful and calm--perfect for swimming; and the fishing in the cove was great--caught lots of large blue gill and catfish using red worms! On those days you want to explore, there is lots close by to do. Patti's Settlement has shopping and dining, there's putt putting and animal viewing at Maggie's Jungle Golf and Jungle Run; horseback riding nearby, and we enjoyed checking out the dam. Hoping to hit the old-fashioned drive-in next visit. The countryside around there is beautiful so don't be afraid to venture off the beaten path. Although we cooked most of our own meals (the kitchen is well furnished for all your needs and easy to entertain in--love the open floor plan), we did enjoy and highly recommend Majestic's pizza, Belew's milkshakes, and Parcell's Bakery (also a Deli & Gift Shop). Ralph's down at Moors Marina is an easy order, take and go; or dine-in and enjoy their genuinely friendly hospitality and yummy food. The Housman family has a wonderful thing going here, and we can't wait to return and continue our "Lakin' Memories"! Thank you so much for a wonderful week!

We live near the lake with some of our fondest memories growing up on the water. We have raised our kids the same way and making memories at "Lakin' Memories"! We love to spend time in the outdoors and especially at the lake when we are not traveling for domestically and globally. We love to travel and stay at other VRBO's & AirBNB's internationally and domestically. Busy travel schedules for us means Lakin' Memories is unoccupied too much and available for you. So we love to get away to our refuge on the lake and be together whenever possible, whether it is on the water, on the dock fishing, or on the porch grilling and hanging out. A bad day at the lake, beats a good day at work!

Why they chose this property

This property is completely furnished plus some. It is set up with everything that we could think of even some of what our friends could think of. We took the best of ideas from other homes we stayed at abroad and made them available to our guest at Lakin Memories. Brand new house and clean as a whistle! Tankless water heater means you should never have to take a cold shower here or worry about how long the teenagers stay in there! NEW FOR 2021 - PUFFY MATTRESSES FOR KING AND QUEEN BED, CONCRETE WALKWAYS AND BLUE TOOTH DECK SPEAKERS!

What makes this property unique

Great location in the heart of the Land Between the Lakes area, only a few hours from Nashville, Memphis or St. Louis. Located on the middle of Kentucky Lake in a brand new, lakefront property. You may never want to leave…. The only rule here is you have to RELAX! So, we packed the house with games, leisure reading books from famous authors, TV's with Hulu and Netflix, a fire place and fire pit outside where you can gather with family and friends while looking out over Kentucky Lake.
