Hearthside Cabin is a lovely and unique Northern California vacation rental getaway. No matter how long you stay, you won't want to leave! Nestled among towering redwoods and adjacent to beautiful Austin Creek in historic Cazadero, you'll feel like you've come home when you walk into our peaceful oasis in the forest.

This home offers a spacious living room featuring a rustic wood-burning stove for snug evenings by the fire. Just off the living room and kitchen is a large open deck overlooking the creek with outdoor dining, a gas grill, steps to the hot tub and creek access. A seasonal hammock, ample outdoor seating, and the scents of redwoods and fresh running water add up to a serene escape. With free wifi, you can also work remotely. Plus, a bottle of complimentary wine awaits your arrival!

Hearthside Cabin is located in Cazadero, Sonoma County, where surrounding communities offer all kinds of activities for the entire family. Beaches, golfing, hiking, swimming and, of course, award-winning wineries in the Russian River Valley, are all minutes away.

Know Before You Book:
Maximum Occupancy: The maximum occupancy at Hearthside Cabin is 6. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: On-site parking easily accommodates 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: First bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Twin over Queen bunk bed; Living room: Queen futon.

Bathrooms: One full bathroom and one half bathroom.

Heat Source: There is a mini-split in the living room and a wood-burning fireplace. While there is often firewood at the property, it is not promised. We recommend bringing your own or checking at the property before purchasing wood.

A/C: There is a mini split for heat and A/C.
Being near the coast, the nighttime temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Creek Access: A newly built retaining wall and reinforced creekbank provide a path to the creek. There are stairs from the hot tub area to the path. In the winter the path may be under water.

We had a great time staying in this home. The hosts were very helpful in helping us navigate the area by suggesting nearby grocery stores. We loved that the property was right on the water. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. We had a wonderfully cozy stay in Cazadero!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect set up for a rainy day. The newly remodeled cabin was pleasant and the ourdoor space was amazing!!! Loved the access to the creek for our pups, the deck, the hot tub, and the space out front. One suggestion, the sheets on both beds smellled like mildew. The dryer automatically sets to warm and then you have to set it manually to hot. We think the cleaners are drying them at warm setting and they are not completely dry when they make rhe beds. That was the only negative and wanted to pass along. We will rent again...but will check the sheets before bedtime.

Perfect getaway!

Perfect & quick, getaway for our family of 4 (and our border collie). Cozy cabin great for game night, appetizers on the back patio, and hot tubbing. Took a nice scenic drive to Bodega Bay on one day and did the Korbel tour the next day as the cabin is located in the redwood forest between the coast and the vineyards. Will hopefully be coming back soon!

We had a perfect stay at Hearthside Cabin. Everything was just as described. We loved the hot tub. The spacious deck is an extension of the home. Beds were comfy. We appreciated that there were a few games for kids and that the kitchen was fully stocked. I would definitely stay again!

The location was peaceful, beautiful, and the access to the creek was amazing. Some rooms had a mold smell which we are sensitive to so we will not stay again. Other people may not notice or be bothered by it.

New years getaway

The creekside property was exactly as expected. Wanted to get out of the city for my pup that’s extremely afraid of fireworks for new years. What a quiet and peaceful retreat! Photos represented the property well and access was easy. A lovely getaway from the city for a few days. Very close to the coast with lots of dog friendly beaches. Hope to be back soon!

Cabin getaway

This property is beautiful.the pics don’t do it justice! Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Cars fly by on the road in front of house although it’s only occasionally and the wall heaters kick on throughout the night when cold. Perfect for 3-4 low key ladies to shop go to beach and relax for weeekend.

Quiet home on a beautiful creek under the redwoods

The place was very relaxing. Hot tub was beautifully located under the redwoods near the creek. Linens were exceptionally scented with hormonal disruptive scented laundry detergent. Bring your own wood for the fireplace, as none is provided. BBQ grill is broken and won’t ignite. Otherwise, the place is very comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and very spacious outdoor area.

Family Thanksgiving 2022

Great location with everything you need for a holiday or getaway. House was equipped with all the necessities for a full Thanksgiving dinner just brought the groceries. Easy access from the City but when we arrived we felt like we were in another world. Quiet evenings in the gorgeous redwoods and a spa to relax in! I would highly recommend and would definitely return for a visit. Great decks and views, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, washer and drier and very roomy. Lots of games to entertain you and a great wood stove for those cozy evenings. Thank you for an amazing Family Holiday Vacation

Short family get away

Experience was amazing! The owners thought of everything! We had forgotten baby supplies like baby spoons and they had them! So beautiful, serene, peaceful! My husband is super tall 6’4” so the queen bed was a little small. There were extra trash bags and dish soap, things one of the previous places didn’t have. This will be our go to destination for Sonoma County! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home ❤️

Gorgeous Getaway

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here, and loved every minute. When we arrived the property had not been cleaned due to a miscommunication, but the manager got it sorted and an amazing cleaning team came almost immediately. They did a quick, thorough job. The manager made it up to us with a bottle of wine and refunded part of the cleaning fee, which we really appreciated. Staying creekside was the most magical for us. Our 9 year-old spent hours finding tadpoles and splashing around, and the sound of the water relaxed us. A local highlight was Gold Coast Bakery, which we visited every single day. We took advantage of the short drive to the coast, which features many hiking spots. The cleanliness and amenities were outstanding. We felt right at home. Something we also enjoyed was how it was much cooler at the property due to the redwood canopy. It was maybe 5-10 degrees cooler than when we drove out to the main road. The only downside to this was that our swim clothes and towels wouldn't really dry out. It was a small price to pay for an amazing trip.

In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.

Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.

Why they chose this property

Hearthside Cabin is located in the historic peaceful village of Cazadero amongst the redwood trees. Cazadero is 12 miles to the Sonoma coast, 12 miles to Guerneville, 9 miles to Monte Rio, 7 miles to Duncan’s Mills and a short drive to Russian River Valley wineries. Cazadero has an old fashioned country store and a coffee shop. Duncan's Mills, Guerneville, and Monte Rio have a number of great restaurants. Duncan's Mills has a number of boutique shops. Monte Rio has a public beach with boat rentals (June-September), a movie theater and a small store.

What makes this property unique

Hearthside Cabin has a front yard great for kids, and a back yard with access to seasonal Austin Creek. Cozy cabin with all the modern conveniences!
