As advertised. Was well equipped with everything. Plenty of paper towels, garbage bags and TP. Great views and loved fishing off the dock. Spent a lot of time on the screened in porch. Clean and plenty of kitchen and bathroom towels. Will stay again. Grilled fresh shrimp and oysters from Miss Gina’s.
Wonderful view paired with an extremely comfortable home that was stocked with all essentials!! Neighborhood is great to walk after dinner! This was our second beach week here! Very responsive and nice owners.
This home is perfect! It was the perfect size for our family of 5, the home is gorgeous, and the view is stunning! The kitchen has all the tools you need, beds are comfy, and bathrooms are very nice. I can’t wait to stay here again when we’re back in Marshallberg!
This is our 4th summer so obviously we love coming here. There is always something for everyone! We fish, kayak, swim, snorkel or just sit on the porch watching the birds, boats and dolphins. We get both sunrise and sunset here. We love the privacy but enjoy being close enough to great restaurants nearby. We usually catch a bunch of great fish to eat but we also love getting fresh shrimp from Miss Gina’s. We are already making plans for next summer!
Had a great time. Nice cozy home on the water. It was perfect for my family of four. Convenient to everything, 20 mins to Cape Lookout ferry, 20 mins to Beaufort, 30 mins to Altantic Beach. Great base for the family.
This was a great experience for me and my family. The home is tucked away and right on the water. We were able to fish and crab and explore the tidal areas, all while being close to other popular touristy spots like Beaufort, Moorehead City, and Atlantic Beach. One of favorite things about this place was the ability to catch crab everyday. We will be back.
This is the 4th time we have stayed in this home and it is by far the best in the area, and we have rented several! Very clean, great views of Core Sound and Cape Lookout Lighthouse in the distance. Excellent dock. Plenty of parking. The appliances are new. Amenities are all there and bet of all, the communication with the owner is top notch! Can't recommend enough. We look forward to returning again for our annual fishing trip next fall!
Great stay. They have thought of everything!
Only issue was with neighbors dogs trying to attack ours and they run free to cause messes without the owners of the dogs cleaning up after them.
Had a great stay here. We love the small town of Marshallberg and the location of this house can't be beat. Lots of privacy and quiet with just the wind, waves, and shorebirds calling. Fun fishing off the dock and we took our bikes for very nice evening rides. Spectacular views from the dock, screened in porch, and living area. Highly recommend.
As always, a wonderful stay in the perfect location
This was our third stay at The Murphy's, and we enjoyed this round as much as we did our other visits. We took full advantage of the pier catching (and successfully, safely releasing) red drum, trout, and pinfish. Sunrises and sunsets were incredible. The house was well equipped and comfortable, consistent with previous stays. Proximity to all our favorite go-to's was well with-in 25 minutes making this the ideal place to escape while being able to access wind/water adventures, entertainment, and amazing food. Communication with Danny and Jan was smooth and efficient with immediate responses. There's nothing more we could have asked for, except for a little less wind and a few more days.
We enjoyed this property very much. We were there to celebrate my retirement from the military. We had a blast fishing off the dock and doing other things in the area. We even ventured to use the crab pots. I would recommend this place to everyone.
We had an wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Better than described in listing. Very well stocked with supplies and very clean. Smooth check in and easy communication with owners. Hope to stay here again!
Sunsets and sunrise was the best we ever seen. House was immaculate, owner was great. Definitely going back next year. Thank you Dan and Jan for letting us stay at your home.
Third time staying at this property, it is fantastic! View of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Core Sound, Harkers Island, sunrises and sunsets. Owners are very nice and home is well appointed. Great water access and lots of fun to be had fishing and crabbing off of the dock!
This is a great location for the mature adult crowd wanting to relax, fish and just chill. The owners are responsive and nice! The home is well stocked and clean… we will definitely stay again!!
This house & location are exactly as advertised. Probably better than expected, view is beautiful, very secluded area which was perfect for our family. We did some fishing from the dock & had a great time catching fish. Talked to some locals about what to fish for & with & they were spot on! We took our boat so it was easy to tie up & take in & out of the water. Water is shallow around the dock a little challenging with a deep V boat but we didn’t have any issues. We did swim from the dock & had the best time going to different islands & checking out the area. We threw out a crab pot & caught a few crabs which we released but it was still fun. We will definitely check out this house in the future & recommend to all of our friends. I will say the master bed sleeps like a dream but the 2 spare bedroom mattresses leave a little to be desired. Overall a wonderful slice of Heaven & even better vacation!!!! Huge Thank YOU to the Murphy’s for sharing their house with us!!
This was our second summer family vacation here. Myself, my two daughters, their husbands and two dogs. Everyone had something to do. We were entertained by dolphins, skate and birds. We enjoyed fishing, crabbing, swimming or just reading on the porch. The dogs loved to swim too. We met the caretakers when we arrived and they told us about Miss Gina’s Shrimp. Fresh off the boat, delicious and a total bargain. We caught so many cool fish again….spot, croaker, sea bass, and blue fish. We got lots of crabs including three stone crabs which we threw back in. The highlight was our last day when my son in law caught a 26 inch red drum. We are already planning our return next summer!
Marshallberg takes you back to simpler times…. Riding bikes, catching fish, and spending time with family and friends. That’s why we love it so much. This house was perfection. The kids rode bikes to the Korner store and to visit banjo the pig every day. We caught fish and crabs off the dock and collected treasures during low tide. The wind was pretty wild all week so we only got a few boat days in, but it was still a blast. The owners were very quick to respond with any questions and the house was fully stocked with ANYTHING you may need.

Why they chose this property
This is our HAPPY PLACE! We are just starting to rent because we do not have as much free time to use. We have spent most every summer, spring & fall weekend at Marshelberg since we purchased about 12 years ago. We love it & know you will too!
What makes this property unique
Spectacular views. Quiet. Remote location but close enough to get to Beaufort or Atlantic Beach in just a few minutes.
