Spacious view home that captures the serenity and beauty of Lopez Island
Beautiful Lopez Island four bedroom home at the top of a hill with a spectacular view overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Fisherman Bay. It's a private view home nestled on 15 acres of land that deer and bald eagles love to call their home. Plan to have a great time hiking, biking, flying kites, playing horseshoes, shooting hoops, or simply enjoying a stroll on the beach - the beach is only a short 15 minute walk away. Enjoy the sound - while beach combing or just relaxing, watching sea birds and seals as they enjoy the surf. If you love privacy, beautiful views, relaxing, and breathing the salt water this is your getaway vacation home. Additionally it's a perfect vacation spot to spend with friends during the 4th of July! The Island has lots of fun activities, a unique flea market and it's topped off with a fantastic fireworks display that our home overlooks. If you need transportation, Lopez has a transit bus and also a Destination Driver for hire (similar to a taxi). If you wish to rent a bike contact Lopez Bicycle Works - I believe they meet ferries, and will take bicycles to the ferry and have them waiting for you upon your arrival. It's approximately a 11 mile bike ride from the ferry to our home. Lopez is a great island to tour by bike, it has few hills, beautiful views, plus two great state parks (Odlin and Spencer Spit) that have wonderful sandy beaches. The Islander Lopez Resort is a great place for dinner or docking your boat. Remember to bring your crab pot, kites or basketball - our home and Lopez has it all. *Guests I want you to know we’re doing our part to help our guests stay safe by thoroughly cleaning & disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.) before you check in. Enjoy your stay. Nola

Overall good. We enjoyed our stay. There was only decaf coffee pods. Regular caffeinated pods would be a good option too. Also, the coffee maker filter basket was missing…I couldn’t find.

A fantastic house to relax in surrounded by so much natural beauty. All amenities, comfortable furnishings, impressive view of the water, could have easily stayed longer
We loved our stay and we loved the view. Everything about the process and the location was awesome and peaceful. The layout was a little weird, with no true master suite and the queen bedroom was upstairs with the other 3 bedrooms downstairs. But that was a minor annoyance compared with so many other amazing amenities and bonuses about the property. We would definitely go back!
Probably our 6th or 7th time at Nola's place, and we always enjoy it.

Home is dated but clean, lovely surroundings and well stocked. When I messaged about checking in the early the response didn't make sense - host implied I should ask the cleaners but no contact info was given. Asked for a phone number but was responded to. Was dealing with a major migraine so we went to property an hour early hoping it would be ready. No one was there but cleaning products were out. So we left for an hour until 4pm (check in). At 4, cleaner was there, her family was watching the TV and no rooms were ready. We sat outside in the wind for 15 minutes till one room was ready. 74 year old mom waiting in the car. Cleaner took until 4:40pm to finish - all the whole tv is cranked. Told host who said cleaner likely was doing the best they can. Communication would have helped and honoring the check in time in the contract. I assumed we would have been credited somewhat as this did really mess up our day but nothing was offered. I recommend confirming the rental is ready at the promised time.
Our family gathered to remember my mother in. Celebration of her life. Our family has deep
roots on Lopez and this property was an ideal place for us to gather!
Everything about this house is perfect. Location, view, room for extended family and of course everything you need for a magical stay at magical place. Will definitely recommend to others and stay again.
Perfect for relaxation , nature, and fun. Home was very clean and well stocked with pretty much everything you need. Enjoyed the spectacular views. Thank you for a memorable stay!
This house and the entire property is so beautiful! It was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The view was absolutely wonderful too. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time exploring Lopez Island. We will absolutely be staying here again in the future. The homeowner (Nola) has done an excellent job making her house an ideal place to stay for one's vacation!
We were only five, but this place could comfortably accommodate larger group.. lovely view. Stores and restaurants here are limited and closed early at this time of year, so we wished we’d brought more of our supplies.. Haven had great pizza!

Thanks Nola!
Thanks for letting us stay at your wonderful home. We will be back!
Great location on Lopez. We biked to a few different beaches and enjoy lyes the view from the house. The fields were beautiful to celebrate the spring for Easter. The house had everything you might need and had more than enough room for two families. Thanks for a great stay!
The house was clean and in great shape with an incredible view. The property is private and has plenty of space for outdoor activities. The home is in a good location, close enough to town to be convenient but far enough away to remain private. Very happy with our stay and would love to stay there again.

This property is one of a kind! Quiet, spacious, lots of room inside and out. Loved sitting on the deck and seeing the wildlife on the property, and watching the ferries go by. Close to everything but also private. We had a wonderful time!
We gathered with our children, granddaughter and brother to enjoy time with cousins our sons grew up with who have moved back to Washington. Lopez island has been a special place for many years. Spending time together walking along Otis Perkins, sharing home cooked meals, enjoying espresso and noodles in the village, attending farm tours and apple cider pressings and re-enacting a photo shoot at Spencer Spit was all part of a much anticipated gathering. This spacious and comfortable home with its spectacular view made our time together bery enjoyable.
This is the second time we've booked the house for a weekend of riding around the island. Spacious house to fit all five of us, superb location with a beautiful view and one of the most affordable rentals on the island. Plan on coming back again next year.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Appreciated responsiveness of host when there was an issue with the downstairs heat throwing a breaker. Wifi was easy to connect to although outside connection seemed a bit spotty at times. View is phenomenal. House is very private.

About the host
Hosted by Nola Ayres
My husband and I built our home in 1984 for relaxation and for our family and friends enjoyment. It was built with love, and we hope that you love it as much as we do. One of the unique features is my great grandmother's 1900 stove, ii's a unique feature in the kitchen. The home is built on a hillside surrounded by 16 acre's that overlooks San Juan Channel and Fisherman Bay. It's truly unique, especially during the 4th of July, the islands fireworks are only a short distance away and are GREAT!. It is a perfect spot 365 days a year to relax with your family and friends. You will never tire of the view, or the sunsets, as it is always changing. It's truly a wonderful family retreat, has lots of room outside for children to play and for everyone to enjoy basketball, horse shoes, sunbathing or barbecuing. It also a short walk to a beautiful beach that is always full of interesting drift wood, shells and agates. You can also bring your boat and rent a spot at the Marina or at the Islander Lopez Resort. The San Juan Islands are beautiful and the waters are easily navigable.
Why they chose this property
You will feel right at home in our home. It was designed around the view, for comfort and for privacy. It is nestled on 16 acres that deer, rabbits, seagulls and bald eagles call their home, as much as we do. It's a magical place with a continual changing view as ships and boats continually pass through - the waterways. It's truly a private getaway that I know you'll enjoy and remember as one of the best retreats and vacations you have had. 4 bedroom - 5 beds / sleeps 8 adults comfortably. Serene, tranquil setting and views that will "capture" you and your guests.
What makes this property unique
A great location to go walking, biking, strolling along the waterfront, or go beach combing. Bring shovels for clam digging, put your crab pots out in the bay, or bring a boat and go fishing - or just tour the beautiful San Juan Islands. There is NO limit to the adventures you can enjoy on Lopez Island and this home. Additionally, it is fun to take day trips on the ferry or your boat to Orcas, Friday Harbor or Shaw Island. The islands are truly a magical treat! Lopez is very friendly and welcoming - everyone waves - so be sure to wave back...It will truly be a special vacation.
