• Photos this reviewer posted are NOT of our property.
• The guest was NOT being surveilled; there are NO cameras anywhere on the premises, inside or out.
Guest chose to leave one day into their booking after having to be reminded several times to keep the front door closed during our cold Winter weather; they refused to comply.
Everytime they were kindly reminded of this (and other house rules they refused to adhere to) they feigned victimhood with emotional outbursts becoming uncomfortably aggressive. After contacting VRBO and our county’s sheriff support team, it was decided it best for all parties that she vacate the premises to find alternative lodging. She begged for a 24 hr extension which we granted her, but she left the studio filthy, filled with food and garbage, and in gross disarray.
Because we believe acute mental health and/or addiction issues were a factor, we can NOT recommend this person.
I loved my stay and I didn't feel at all like a Mother-in-law but more like visiting royalty! A cozy and comfortable suite with a lovely back yard to sit and enjoy, a lovely neighbourhood that was easy to walk about, and friendly, helpful hosts. I know where I will stay when I'm next back in Seattle! Thank you so much!

good neighborhood, pleasant hosts
This is a great spot in a quiet neighborhood. There are some stairs to get to the apartment, which is in the attic area of a house but it's very private has a private entrance. It is a very nice little apartment and I would stay there again. Great neighborhood restaurants and things to do close by. Close to downtown too. Hostess was great and provided breakfast pastries in the morning.

Response from VrboOwner on 29 Mar, 2020
Kim was a tidy, very quiet and respectful guest; would gladly welcome her return. To clarify any misunderstanding, the studio takes up 2/3 of the 2nd floor of a Cape Cod style home. As with all Cape Cod structures, its slight interior roofline angles are intrinsic to their top floors. The studio is NOT the attic NOR in the attic area. Thank you!

Nice space
Comfortable and compact. A full bed for 2 adults is a little tight but a single is very easy. The host is friendly without being intrusive. The kitchen is spacious.

The little cottage was perfect. It has a separate entrance which was convenient, especially during Covid. Parking out front. Very pleasant hosts. It is clean and bright with a French influence.

What a delightful little studio apartment set in such a beautiful part of Seattle. It was extremely clean and it's clear that the hosts put a lot of thought to the details. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because it felt like I was a guest in someone's home (which I was) vs staying in a hotel. It still felt private though and very safe. I was staying alone so safety is a high priority for me. I would happily stay there again.
Was disappointed. It was a one room apartment no TV or even a radio. Tiny dining table. The bathtub/shower was elevated which made it difficult to get out of; particularly if you’re a senior citizen.

Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to accommodate this guest for the following reasons:
1.) Guest was wholly unresponsive to any communication prior to their check-in date.
2.) Guest iterated that his stay was booked through a second party (his son); and that he never had access to read the description of the property itself prior to his son booking on his behalf.
3.) Guest neglected to follow host's House Rules as informed to read and adhere to on many occasion.
4.) Guest appeared severely disoriented and confused over the course of his stay. So much so, that host had to inform guest where apartment door, light switches and keys were located several times with a 30 minute period, continuing over the course of one week. Even losing keys twice within an hour of his arrival.
5.) Guest suffers from mobility issues which host feared would place property and/or guest himself in harm's way.
6.) Guest violated House Rules and WA State Pandemic Protocols numerous times, putting hosts in grave risk by not correctly wearing his mask, while continuously stepping well into the 6ft distancing range. When told “There’s a pandemic Sir, so you'll need to stay 6 ft away.". His response was “Yeah, yeah, ‘pandemic'. I know.” as if to disregard the pandemic’s seriousness and validity.
No host aims to discourage any fellow host from accepting bookings. However, they should also be aware of these particular concerns and the perceived jeopardy and risks to safety that might be placed onto their operation and/or themselves.
Outstanding place to stay. Owners were wonderful!!
Our son lives 5 houses down so the location was spectacular. Very clean, comfortable, and adorable. Owners were incredibly kind and considerate. Will book again!

Marvelous Magnolia
We feel very fortunate to have found this gem in Magnolia for our Seattle vacation. Jeffrey and Dipa are the best! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with them, and their attention to detail made our stay comfortable and memorable. The studio apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The croissants on our first morning were delicious and a thoughtful treat! There is a bus stop minutes away which took us directly downtown in about 20 minutes. After a busy day exploring Seattle, it was lovely to return to the peaceful back garden at Petits Chenes Anglais and have some relaxation time. We would not hesitate to book here again if we are ever back in Seattle.

Sweet Colonial Studio Apartment
I enjoyed my stay at Jeffrey's apartment. The house was beautiful. comfortable and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals, which is nice. I was able to make breakfast there every day. The Magnolia neighborhood is full of classic houses and is hilly. We didn't rent a car and were able to get around with uber and the bus, the stop is a block away and only 15 minutes ride to get downtown, although I would suggest renting a car for convenience. Jeffrey was a great host, very helpful with recommendations to eat and stories about the neighborhood. He is also a great baker ;) We had a great time and would stay again.

Beautifully comfortable, charming, clean, and safe.
My daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend visit, and it was lovely! It was very comfortable, and the little kitchenette was perfect for morning coffee. It is adjacent to a lovely shaded yard that can be used for sitting as well. The room is airy and clean, we slept so well! The location is perfect - not far from the village of Magnolia and Discovery Park (you could walk there if you love a good hill and want a great workout!) The host is incredibly accommodating. I would absolutely stay there again - I highly recommend this studio!

Convenient to downtown Seattle
This is a great alternative to staying at pricey downtown hotels. The location and the room is lovely, and Jeffrey was a great host. Thank you for the pastries! The stay was very enjoyable.
As mentioned in the previous reviews, the studio is up a couple of flight of stairs. The bath/shower has a high step. Not a problem for most folks.

very good location, comfortable
We stayed for a week, and Jeffrey took good care of us. The welcome-day croissants were a treat. Magnolia is a comfortable old neighborhood, mostly of individual homes. This one is at the top of the hill and remarkably quiet. We slept well and could make light meals for ourselves. Jeffrey and his wife make an effort to provide a quality experience. A car is required to get much of anywhere, but the parking is easy.

Seattle
Owner of the property was very friendly and the property for 1or 2 people was just fine. One thing that should be added to the property is to have a TV (with cable or satellite) available for guests.
dave o.
Response from VrboOwner on 29 Mar, 2020
Thank you David for your review! With regard to your cable/satellite TV suggestion - you might want to check the places you intend to stay at first to make sure they list having a TV available (we do not). Although we aim to accommodate all of our guest's needs, we as residents have discontinued watching traditional TV; Additionally, we find guests use our Wifi for online viewing (news, BBC, Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, etc.) via their laptops instead as well. Thanks again for your input as we continue to strive for excellence. Best wishes, Jeffrey

Why they chose this property
Cape Cod style homes are a rarity in Seattle. Magnolia boasts 4, one of which is partially yours for a stay's length of your choosing.
What makes this property unique
The only home in Magnolia, and handful of homes in Seattle, with a grand-fathered-in private front driveway for guest parking. 30 min walk to Puget Sound. 20 min bus ride to down town.
