5 Star Stay!

We had a great stay at this property. The views were beautiful and the cabin itself is comfortable, modern and well-stocked! This is one of the cleanest properties we have ever stayed in and the owners clearly thought of every detail. Blowing Rock is only a few minutes away. We hope to stay here again soon.

Tranquil, Comfy Retreat

Friend and I with pups came to the blowing rock area for a long weekend getaway. This cabin is absolutely wonderful. Beds are super comfy. The place is super clean. The views and the decks are wonderful. We ate dinner on the deck every evening. The kitchen has everything you would need. Great location to hop on the highway to get to anywhere. Sun rises out the front of the cabin or phenomenal every morning!! We actually drove to Grayson Highlands and hiked for a day and it was a very easy drive. Also the Blue Ridge Parkway has so many trails off of it. I would definitely stay here again without any hesitation.

Great cabin. Incredible view!

We have stayed in a LOT of mountain cabins with nice views, but the southern view from this cabin was possibly the best we ever had. Not a bad view to the north either. Cabin was nice, appeared to have been built fairly recently, and very weather-tight. Communications with host were always positive. Cabin is perched on a ridgeline with drop-offs on both sides. Spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view. And only about 3 miles from town.

You will not be disappointed with this place. Everything is top notch regarding the house itself. The views are amazing. Lisa the property manager is always super responsive if you need anything or have questions. The gravel road is a little scary at first especially immediately following a rain storm. But they do a great job raking out the ruts as soon as possible.

Great cottage with a fantastic view!

This was a great stay for a long November weekend in Blowing Rock. My husband and I and our two four-legged kids booked this cottage. It was very clean and well-appointed....very clean and comfortable beds, sheets, towels, nice kitchen and comfortable furniture. It was just a short drive to Main Street in down-town Blowing Rock. There was some construction on Highway 321, looks like they are widening the road, but the house is high enough up the mountain the construction noise couldn't be heard...and it's only temporary. Would love to stay here again when the weather is warmer to take better advantage of the wonderful wrap-around deck! We made up for it by getting to use the wood stove this time around...very comfortable stay!

Our host Lisa could not have been more helpful, always responded immediately to any questions. The pictures of the cabin don't do it justice. The cabin was incredibly clean, spacious and well appointed. The view from the deck is amazing. Can't wait to return next year.

Just spectacular!

We are long time visitors to the Blowing Rock area. This is the most spectacular home we have stayed in. It has all the amenities anyone could need. The views are fantastic.

Beautiful home with beautiful views

The views are breathtaking and pictures do not do them Justice. The house is beautiful. But if you're not from the mountains and used to driving up really windy roads it can be scary. But overall definitely worth it.

Wonderful Get-Away Week

This property is absolutely as advertised. Very clean and stocked with all we needed. Great town and great hikes in Moses Cone Memorial Park. We will definitely return to Blowing Rock and, when we do, we will stay at the Elkridge Cottages again.

A Bit of Heaven

The views in every direction are pure heaven—across valleys and mountains. You can work at the kitchen island lost in distant vistas. The porches have gorgeous views and plenty of room for multiple activities from napping to dining to simply watching the light change across the mountains.

Hidden Gem

The Elkhorn cabin is a cozy and very comfortable place to stay for a getaway. We enjoyed the Mountain View’s on the spacious decks and the firepit at night was an added bonus. We brought our own camp chairs which I recommend. Located a few minutes outside of Blowing Rock, it was so convenient to visit all the popular places. Lisa is very responsive with any questions you may have.

Amazing Views

The Elkhorn cabin was perfect. The location was very convenient to hiking, exploring Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin itself was the perfect size for two couples. The bedrooms with attached bathrooms were very spacious. The open kitchen, dining and living room was very appealing as well. The entire inside of the cabin overlooked the beautiful mountains. The outside wrap around deck was perfect and the fire pit was an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing property

Lovely updated cabin on a little price of heaven property. Amazing views! We spent most of our time outside on the deck , porch, and fire pit area. Mountain views were mesmerizing! We enjoyed delicious dinners at the Speckled Trout and Gamekeeper restaurants. Hiked the trail to Hebron falls. Drove the Blueridge parkway to see more of the Blueridge Mountains.

Why they chose this property

We bought the lot in 2003 and have lived on this same ridge since this time. We loved it so much up here that we wanted to build some other cottages here that we could share with others. There are two new cottages on this ridge.You wake in the morning to the sounds of birds and nature. You feel like you are on the top of the world in this cottage.

There are two separate views with long range views and a very comfortable deck with three separate outdoor spaces. We have added an fire pit outside with comfortable log chairs and a table with a wonderful view of the mountains.
