Come relax in this adorable 2 bedroom, 2 bath, and loft, Ski Chalet. Master bedroom has 1 king bed, spare room has 1 queen bed, and the loft also has 1 queen bed and 1 air mattress. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need, that's if you get sick of eating at all the delicious restaurants in the area, Double Musky, Jack Sprat, and Chair 5, just to name a few of our favorites. This is the perfect home away from home for all your Girdwood adventures. After a long day of skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or fishing, come relax next to the fire place, or take a dip in the new hot tub! We are on a large corner lot, easy to find, yet secluded. Peek-a-boo mountain views from all the front windows allow you to check out the mountain conditions. The chalet is roughly .5 miles from the resort. Its up hill on the way to the resort, so skiing home would be a breeze. Just a short drive brings you to the impressive cross country skiing trail system, in case downhill just isn't your thing. Alyeska has recently opened up an extensive mountain biking trail system for you summer adventurers. There are ample hiking trails in the area, including Winner Creek, a favorite of mine. Girdwood is a great middle ground to explore towns south of Anchorage as well! A short 25 miles south is the town of Whittier, highly recommended for fishing or a sight seeing tour of Prince William Sound, which offers an abundance of marine life in the summer months. Orcas, Humpbacks, otters, and birds to name a few. Keep driving south and you'll find yourself in Seward, Kenai, Soldotna, and Homer.

Our stay in this cabin was a good experience. The bathrooms and kitchen were perfect for our group since there was a bathroom both upstairs and down. We loved being within a short driving distance from both Whittier and Anchorage. The fireplace kept us warm and cozy.
This cabin is in a subdivision but it feels like you're in the woods instead. Super clean, has everything you need and is in a great location to a lot of activities.

Great getaway
Wonderful chalet. Clean quiet and comfortable. Great location. Owner easy to get ahold of and friendly. Close to everything. Highly recommended! We will be back.
This is the second time we have stayed at the chalet. It is the perfect place near all the things we like to do. The two private bedrooms are great for two couples. The living room with large sofa comfortably seated us all. The kitchen had all necessary tools for preparing our meals.

always glad to see you guys back. Glad you enjoyed
We love staying at the chalet so much that we have done so three times. Located in a quiet neighborhood with all the things you need to relax after a day of hiking or sightseeing. The chalet is clean and comfortable. We especially like having access to the hot tub. The owner is very responsive if there are any questions.
We really enjoyed staying at the chalet. Mike is very welcoming and called the day before our arrival to make sure we had everything set. He also checked in on us during the trip. Kitchen is well equipped and the sofa is big enough for a group. Beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels. Having access to a washer and dryer is also a great benefit. Would 100%recommend.

David was great and I would happily rent to him again
We chose this particular house because of the hot tub. It did not disappoint. It was perfect. It was clean and did not smell overwhelmingly of Chlorine. Great communication from owner. He reached out to make sure we made it in ok. He gave great suggestions for restauarants. One thing to point out is the TV with Roku and apps is in the loft. It wasn't an issue fir us as it was nice to be away from TV for a week. Internet was great. We plan to come back in the summer.
So grateful for the fabulous stay at the Girdwood home. We enjoyed the multiple bedrooms for our family of four. The kids loved all of the extras, as this house has so many fun and kid friendly games and interesting things to do like the high loft. Access to Alyeska ski was so easy too. Parking was nice and plowed.
So grateful.

Not cleaned
The house was not clean. Lots of dirt and dog hair on carpet and tile. We spent much of the second day cleaning. The kitchen table had numerous spots of paint or dirt. We covered it with a sheet and did the same with the sofa which looked old and had stains. We found someone’s underwear under the sofa. The front steps from the ground up to the deck are not safe. I put some rocks there to help. Both toilets needed cleaning. The bottom sheet on the upstairs bed had blood spots. Part of our cleaning was to wash the sheets. The washer and dryer are new and worked great. The whole unit could use some TLC. I called the owner numerous times our first day and he seemed unconcerned about our issues. He did finally agree to refund us some of our fee. The neighborhood is quiet and many things to do and see all within a days drive. If we come back we’ll find a different unit.

June Vacation in Alaska
This was the first time my family had ever stayed in a VRBO property so we didn't know exactly what to expect. We had several questions prior to our stay and Jessica responded to all of our questions quickly and was able to answer them all clearly. The ski chalet was conveniently located to all of the activities we had planned. The neighborhood was extremely quite and though not as secluded as we expected, the property was lined with trees giving us some privacy. The inside of the chalet was clean, but needing a little TLC. There were a couple of small holes in the walls and the sectional/ottoman was stained. The bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen were all very clean. There was a window in the living room that the weather seal is broken on and the window was fogged the entire time we were there obscuring the view. Since we visited in June, the weather was quite unpredictable. Some days it was cold and the fireplace came in handy. It warmed the chalet nicely. Other days, it was very warm outside and with no AC, it would have been nice to open windows to let the breeze in. However, only one of the windows in the main part of the chalet had a screen on it and with all of the mosquitoes in the area, we couldn't open the other windows without being eaten alive. All of the doors on the property, interior and exterior, were warped. This made closing, locking and unlocking the doors a challenge. You had to pull very hard to get the interior doors to close and the exterior door with the electronic lock, would stick when the code was put in. So, we had to pull on the door and enter the code to get it to unlock. The exterior of the property had weeds growing up through the steps to the deck, there were cigarette butts all around the property, and cobwebs hanging from most of the railings and eaves. All-in-all we had a wonderful time. The property was exactly what we needed and with a little TLC could be a superb property. If we are ever in the Anchorage/Girdwood area again, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Hey Barry,
Thank you for your feedback on our property. Since your review we have addressed all of your concerns! We had screens put on the windows, the foggy window is being replaced, the outside has been cleaned up. The doors being sticky is due to the heavy snow load every winter causing the house to shift. We are addressing that as best we can. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay over all and I hope you will stay with us again if you ever find yourself in girdwood! Thank you.
Stay was great. House was as listed. Great for a family, lots of space. The hottub was a little dirty, so that would be my only complaint. Would stay here again.
We were totally blessed to have an opportunity to visit Alaska! And to find a place with an outdoor hot tub! Our host Mike was prompt and informative. Definitely recommend!

This is a great location with things to do in all directions. Or a great place to do nothing at all. The accommodations are cozy and inviting, we definitely took advantage of that on a bad weather day to just sit by the fire and do nothing. The hot tub is welcome after a long hike or kayaking out to portage glacier. The owner Mike is great to work with and responds promptly. Will definitely look for this listing again in the future.
