We had a great, memorable stay in this lovely home. There were five adults and two toddlers and we had just the right amount of space. We loved the high ceilings, the fireplace, the lovely open floor plan, well stocked kitchen, and the huge backyard. We had few mishaps with some appliances not working unexpectedly, but Chris was so responsive in addressing the issue and providing accommodation, we really appreciate him. Would definitely come back!
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed in this beautiful rental for 5 nights. The VRBO pictures of this house don't do it justice. The house is very nicely decorated with just the right amount of furniture (not too much, not too little), very comfortable beds (2 kings was a big plus!), cozy gas fireplace, huge fully fenced-in yard, and a very well stocked kitchen. The host, Chris, was very responsive and accommodating. The house is in the Sierra Meadows neighborhood, which is mostly flat and very close to historic downtown Truckee. The house is down a long driveway, so it's private and nice and quiet. We would definitely stay at this beautiful house again!
Best location for walking to local restaurants. Private yards with a private driveway. The house was surprisingly stocked with everything we needed. Dog friendly, which was a plus for our family. Would stay again!
Our second family ski stay at this home. It's ideal for our group of four adults, one teenager, two kids and two dogs. Everyone had a bed and the yard is huge. Home is well maintained and comfortable.. Will always be our first choice for our ski or summer trips to Tahoe.
Location is centrally located.

M/y favorite VRBO so far
This house had everything my family needed. The house seemed really new and everything inside was really nice (good linens, towels, sharp knives etc). Having two bedrooms with a King size bed and a "bunkbed room" make it perfect for two families. Very convenient area and getting in was easy with a digital code entry. The only thing that would make this absolutely perfect for us, would be if you could get to the fenced backyard from the deck (it is a closed deck with no stairs). We had our dog (thank you for being pet friendly) and had to walk out through the front door and open the side gate-not a deal breaker since everything else was perfect! We will definitely stay here again-I'm already trying to plan our next trip! Thank you Chris:)

Quite and spacious. Very well organized, cleaned and low maintanenace for a nice weekend getaway
Very quiet neighborhood with spacious areas in the kitchen, living room and balcony for a nice BBQ. Very cleaned and well organized throughout the house. Very reasonable price and nice getaway for those who has a large family or would like to have couples only-getaway.
Bedrooms are comfy and spacious again. Very clean and well maintained throughout the house. Wifi and TV work fine. Kitchen had all tools you need along with utensils to have a nice big dinner.
Only nitpicking I have is that the owner was difficult to reach (maybe went out of the country during Labor Day weekend since all my calls when directly to the voicemail?) when called for the direction to house (not listed in the instruction or e-mail confirmation so had to do a little Google Earth search to match pictures to find the address myself).
If the issue above did not occurred, I would have given a full five stars.

Property was beautiful and house was beautiful!
Property and house was beautiful, however, no access to fenced backyard from back door. This was a pain with a dog and kids! Had to go out front door and walk around to backyard to take dog out. Could not sit and relax on back deck with dogs and kids playing , as they had to go around and in house for drink, snack, etc. etc. and we didn't want them in front without us there! This really was a pain and not a relaxing week.
The other problem was heavy Gopher holes and tunnels in yards- could not walk without sinking in a Gopher burrow or hole. And the dog next door kept trying to get in the yard. The fence is falling apart. We had to put rocks in front of wood planks. Fence does need some good repair.
The house itself was beautiful and well equipped with super nice everything- from appliances to the linens. Top quality and comfort IN house. Well stocked- needed nothing. Great , deep jetted bathubs too! BUT, despite big yard, not great for dogs and kids.
This house was really amazing! It was very comfortable with a beautiful kitchen that was well-stocked with everything we needed. The dog loved the huge fenced yard. We would totally recommend this house!
My family stayed in Ponderosa Palisades for 10 days! Very nice, spacious for 9 people house, well equiped with all you need (we cooked everything from scratch), in great and queit neighborhood, close to Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. Easy communication with owneres. We would definitely come again! Thank you!
Awesome home. Great neighborhood, quiet and close to all. Super clean and well stocked, not overly so. Big backyard for relaand room for the dog.
Recommend this property and will return.
Chris’ place was great! Beds were super comfortable and the layout of the house is perfect. Enough space for everyone in your group and you won’t ever feel crowded.
We had a fantastic weekend! Chris was very accommodating and communicative. Even with a mix up/miscommunication he just rolled with it and made adjustments!
We would definitely love to stay here again!
I love staying at this house. This is our second time staying here and we just love it. The neighborhood is quiet and very conveniently located. The house is comfortable, well stocked with everything you need and we love the huge fenced in yard for our kids and dog. Beds are super comfy and house was spotless! Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cabin again.
Wells stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes, cutlery and utensils.
Ample supply of plush towels. Very quiet neighbor that is also centrally located for exploration of the North Tahoe area.
We loved staying at this house, located in a quiet neighborhood in the woods only a 5 minute drive from Truckee. The house was large and very comfortable. The fenced-in backyard was huge! It was well-equipped and had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here!
Great neighborhood property within short driving distance to downtown Truckee and Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. Host was very helpful and responsive. House was clean (very important to us) and comfortable. Would stay here again!
It is very clear that the owners of this property love dogs. I appreciated knowing I could bring my dogs and not worry about them. This property is clean and the check-in/out was very easy.
My only suggestion for clarification is one informational email said check out was at 2pm and the second email said 11am. It didn't really matter because we had to be out early. But if we didn't I would have wanted to enjoy the house to the very last moment I could.
We loved Chris's house for our weekend ski trip. The home is very spacious with 3 large bedrooms and a very large living/dining/kitchen area. The house's location is also great - only a ~15 min drive to Northstar and less than 10 min drive into downtown Truckee. Fifty Fifty brewing is also only half a mile away which was a highlight. Would definitely stay here again!
Newly renovated, hardwood living room, everything is very clean and new. Breville espresso machine, tons of utensils and dishes. Huge fenced backyard made the dogs merrier than ever! Chris is very responsive and brought us a giant shovel in 30 min after we asked for. It was very pleasant and memorable trip for my family.

Why they chose this property
We've long loved this area and finally purchased a home here after too many rentals and hotel stays. The location suited our needs to be close to town (30 minute walk, 5 minutes by bike), the river, running and mountain bike trails, and a short drive to world-class skiing. The fenced-in yard gives our dogs a safe place to run and chase each other while entertaining friends on the patio.
What makes this property unique
The house is set back about 100' from the quiet street in a nice residential neighborhood. We love the serene setting and convenient location to Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, Northstar, Downtown Truckee, and wilderness in every direction. The single-floor layout makes every room accessible for all our family members.
