The house pictures don’t do the property justice, so much space, well equipped and everything you need. Well supplied with paper products, trash bags, soap, shampoo, etc.Our family enjoyed our stay at one of the best properties we’ve rented.The house manager was very responsive and maintained communication thru our stay.I would highly recommend this property

Stayed here for our friends ski trip. The house was in a great location and fit 6 adults and 6 teenagers very comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped, even had 2 ovens upstairs and a third downstairs!!!

Three of six families celebrating a memorial for a deceased nephew stayed here with 7 adults and 3 children. Grandparents to grandchildren enjoyed the spacious, well equipped accommodations, and fun in the game room. The setting provided beautiful views of the surroundings as well as unhurried privacy.

Our group was wowed by this home in the best way. It was extremely clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of space for 9 adults and 4 kids. The kids were entertained by the game room and the adults enjoyed relaxing by the fire. The hosts were extremely responsive and had the home prepped for our arrival, the driveway was plowed, porch lights were on and heat was turned up. We look forward to another trip!

Two sets of grandparents and a family of 5 with 3 children under 6 years old had a very comfortable weekend located close to other family members staying at nearby properties while coming together for a nephew's memorial service. This house worked perfectly for our family/friend President's Weekend Ski Trip. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved having their own space in the basement. Great Northern Michigan Retreat

This property was perfect for our group - 2 families, comprised of 4 adults and 5 children. We had plenty of space, and having the full basement with game room was a huge bonus for our stay! The house was clean and the amenities were awesome. We loved the double sided fireplace and we were able to totally disconnect and relax. We will definitely keep this property in our rotation.

Extended family getaway

Three generations enjoyed a winter break weekend. The house was beautiful and well laid out. Each bedroom has plenty of privacy. We unfortunately left a small item behind, which was noticed and reported to us the same day. Our only suggestion would be to have another large pot in the kitchen. We were a little disappointed that the resort indoor pool was closed for rennovations. The pool at the inn was available but was busier.n.

Nurture the Spirit

Seven women gathered at Rustic Northern Retreat for our third annual retreat. The setting was a perfect place to deepen our friendship, commune with nature, God, the unseen and each other. With two well-stocked kitchens and excellent cooks, we were well fed. We hiked at Grass River Nature Preserve and on the grounds, spread out for yoga in the downstairs, and gathered around the fire circle for singing, conversation, stargazing and laughter. An ideal outing that we hope to repeat next fall.

Winter Wonderland

The property location is perfect. Nice home with plenty of room for 3 families, all 12 of us. The only negatives were the horrible sewer smell outside the home. We build a fire outside in the fire pit but the smell was soo bad we couldn’t enjoy. The property description indicated that the indoor pool at Shanty Creek was included and it is not. Overall we enjoyed our family ski weekend.

This house was big enough to bring our high school and college age children and their friends. It had several area's in the house that people could talk or watch TV. We didn't feel crowded and the kitchen was massive. We have stayed here in the summer and we get to the Dockside on Torch lake in about 20 minutes or to Bellaire in about 10 minutes. The ski hill for Schuss is only few minutes away at Cedar River Lodge. We will be coming back to this house again!

Bugs, mold, broken appliances and water leaks in the ceiling

This is was was an awful stay. The Water heater was replaced during our visit and the water was shut completely off and the handymen were permitted to in the house with us guests despite us being assured they wouldnt be inside the house. A bug resembling a cockroach was found walking along a bathroom sink. The fireplace wouldn’t turn on. The refrigerator froze everything. There was also a water leak in the ceiling in the basement. And multiple drop ceiling tiles were moldy in the basement. But for our “inconvenience” we were offered to stay two extra hours. It was a bad joke.

House was PERFECT for Group Outing

8 friends from law school got together for 3 days of golf and boating. House was amazing with lots of space to eat, drink, talk, enjoy the views, and late-night game room competitions. The host was VERY accommodating and helpful with where things are around the house. The firepit and games and activities were fantastic; really made the house fun. The backyard overlooks the green of a Par-4 hole and it was cool watching groups come in. Less that 15 minutes to restaurants, bars, and the marina where we rented a boat on Torch Lake. Played 2 golf courses on property; this place was great.
