This house needs some work. There was a leak from the upstairs shower to the living room, the dishwasher was broken, the refrigerator was missing shelves and ran like it was dying. The house also was not clean, especially the kitchen.
The Main House was the perfect lodging location for a group of guys looking to enjoy an outdoors weekend. Ample space, quiet, well provisioned, clean, easy and prompt communication with our host. Highly recommend!

Golf weekend
We had a great time, 12 guy group golf trip and the house fit our needs perfectly. Great location.
Inside of the house was clean and updated. Nice house. The outside needs some clean. The grounds were not taken care of to well. Tons of weeds and overgrown bushes. Not well mainly at all. Hard to use the firepit since outside was so run down. The deck and furniture needs to be redone. Very old and broken.
As of August 2023.
This property reminded me of my house, numerous projects that need to be done at some point, but is fine for dwelling in. The difference though is I would not charge anyone to stay in it. Unfortunately, the listing pictures make it seem way nicer than it is.
The property is sufficient, but it has the potential to be amazing with some extra care and attention. The space size is decent with numerous bedrooms and sleeping areas. It no longer has the bunk bed that is in the listing, which complicated sleeping arrangements for the kids. Also, the office is now converted to a bed room.
There were two issues we communicated with the owner about. The main level floor had a large pool of water dripping from the upper level bathroom. There is a sign by the shower to indicate that this could happen, but that is not included in the listing. And so stepping into the puddle in the middle of the night was alarming.
Second, the window AC units are not sealed and closed off properly, which let in a lot of bugs. My wife and I woke up every morning with new bug bites.
The location is great for walking downtown to the many restaurants and stores.

Pictures do NOT tell the Story
Saw the pictures online and was blown away as to how nice the house appeared - until of course when we arrived in person. We had a group of 8 individuals golfing at local courses in Gaylord, and we wanted to spend some downtime as well. I was drawn to the deck with the table and lights, etc. as we wanted to play some cards, etc. after golf, except that was no table on the deck or chair cushions for that matter - the chairs were leaned against the house. I read that the smaller house next door had window AC units, so I assumed central air - wrong again. Each room had a window unit, but no A/C on the main floor, and we tried to get some cross-ventilation (as it was 85 deg), but one of the door walls was painted shut. The eating area was ample for 8 people and was a plus for the house. However, no window treatments (blinds/shades) on the windows in the eating area, so unless you want your neighbors to say hi to you in your skivies, make sure you wear shorts and a shirt. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, and the AC in the rooms was more than adequate. Bottom line is the place needs some TLC - just a few little things to spruce it up a bit. For instance, the kitchen sink window sill had leaves and maple helicopters from the previous season - seriously, vacuum them up cleaning people!! Put some window treatments in, get cushions for the chairs and install an AC unit in the main floor. Double check the gas stove as it was hit or miss on it working as well.
This property is in a perfect location, walking distance to downtown bars, gift shops and restaurants and a short drive to golf courses, ski resorts and Otsego Lake. The home is updated inside with plenty of comfortable bedrooms and gathering places for family games, meals or just lounging around. We loved the large kitchen with bar stools and extended large dining space - plenty of room to eat or just gather for fun and games. The backyard has a large fire pit and deck that we enjoyed, even in the winter. We had an amazing Christmas Family Reunion in this warm and inviting home!
Walking distance to downtown. Short drive to the Treetops courses. Had everything we could’ve wanted for 8 guys. We loved the big dining area and the backyard fire pit. 2 full baths.
House was very clean and well kept. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Location was also close to all the downtown restaurants and bars. Would certainly rent this house again and would recommend 100% to anyone looking to rent.
