I did not stay there! Within 5 min upon arrival it was evident that this was a disaster, mice droppings, mold on walls, filth (was not cleaned) & stench, I have 22 photos to document these incredible statements. VRBO & Evolve the companies representing this property have been intentionally stalling dealing with this issue. The photos on VRBO website still list this property with fake photos. No photos they list are real. Beware of the site in Kelseysville. VRBO & Evolve are not credible much less helpful in trying to resolve this travesty.

Lora, we sincerely apologize for not rising to your expectations and standards during your brief visit to our property. The condition you encountered upon arrival, is certainly not reflective of the standards we strive to uphold. This is our home. We love it. Three generations of our family, including three toddlers, spent several very enjoyable days there shortly before your arrival. A very small section of the wall was indeed damp from the very heavy rains. We observed some surface crumbling but no mold. Regrettably, it could not be fixed before your arrival but has been fixed now. The mice droppings looked to be more like coffee grounds. There is no evidence of any mice or mice droppings on the property. Our Evolve vetted and recommended caretaker toils three to four hours to get the property ready for arriving guests. We are not quite sure what you mean by “filth”. She is not known to leave filth of any kind behind. The kitchen has been recently revamped with new flooring, new countertops, state of the art Jennair oven/ microwave, and cooktop. Old furniture replaced with new furniture. The pictures on the site have not yet been updated to reflect the many changes in progress. Outdated perhaps but definitely not “fake”. Arriving guests will certainly enjoy the improvements. Only as a gesture of goodwill, your demand for a refund was honored. It is not our intention to profit from unhappy guests. Any delay in your receiving the refund lies entirely between you and the agencies you dealt with. I too am distressed with the indifferent response as it has cost us potential new bookings. I am informed this is due to “high call volume”, corporate America’s most misused cliche and excuse. This has not been a good experience for either of us. We understand your frustrations and the desire to buttress your claim for a refund. A more reasoned, temperate review would have been more credible and achieved the same result. Our caretaker has thoroughly inspected the property to ensure there is no evidence of rodents. Any areas of concern have been meticulously cleaned and sanitized. Without exception, all our guests enjoy the spectacular, unobstructed views of the lake, the stunning sun and moon rise, the turkeys, the deer, the birds and the rabbits that roam, besides the tranquility, peace and quiet. We regret you were unable to enjoy all this.
The house is in a lovely spot with amazing views of Clear Lake. It is adequately provisioned for a rental. Nothing fancy - just the basics. Our first night, we noticed a few roaches by the kitchen sink. The next morning there were more. I contacted the prop manager who told me they were aware roaches were in the house and that there was bug spray in the garage. She did not however, seem interested in making a site visit. I sprayed. The bugs just got worse. I contacted the property manager again and she apologized, and said they'd book an exterminator for after we checked out. The bug problem just got worse - eally an infestation. We ended up leaving a day earl.

Anthony, We regret your vacation did not end as we would have hoped Hopefully, the generous refund will have mitigated, in a small way the inconvenience.
- We had the exterminator make 3 successive visits days apart to ensure the upcoming guests would have no problems. According to the exterminator, the cockroaches were introduced by some guests as the species is not native to the area. The house appears to be free of pests now but is being monitored continuously.
I'm sorry you had this problem, but we truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Location and Driveway Issues
We chose this home for the view and it was as published. Gorgeous.!The home was clean and sleeps many. The view and inside were as anticipated. What we did not know was: the location is 25 minutes or more from any conveniences (food/gas) and the driveway was not fun. If you are going to the home to stay put, all is well. The home is located high on a hillside. Several winding streets are traveled to get there. If you are prone to car sickness, this is not the place for you to stay. You wind and wind, up and up at least 20 minutes from the main road. The pre-arrival stated that the driveway was "rather steep." That was an understatement. It is also very short to the garage. You drive off the "cliff" down two car lengths and then stop before hitting the garage. You will be completely "blind" when exiting unless you back in. Yes, it is doable and an all wheel drive car handled it well. For us, it was very stressful in a rental car. We left after the 1st night simply to avoid the in and out of the drive as well as the winding roads, and the distance from our planned activities. We did let the Manager know, and she informed the Owner who was willing to provide a refund. Both were receptive and understanding as well as quick to respond. However, Evolve, their Property Management Co. would only allow a very small refund for our troubles. Once again, if you are going for the view, rent away! Enjoy the patio and the spacious comfortable house. If you are prone to car sickness, do not like steep driveways or want to be closer to activities in the area, this may not be the home for you.

Response from owner: "We thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. We are glad that the house, bar the driveway, met your expectations.
-As stated in the cancellation policy, guests who check out early are not
entitled to a refund. As a gesture of sheer goodwill, Evolve and the owner
provided a not insignificant refund. We regret that it did not meet your
expectation of a full refund.
-Riviera Foods is a top-class grocery store located 3.5 miles, a 7 minute
drive, from the property on Soda Bay road. They also have a gas station.
There is a coffee shop, a pizza place, and an Indian restaurant in the same
mall.
-Konocti Harbor, 1 mile away, has a small convenience store and a bar and
grill restaurant.
-Guests coming from the Bay Area - the best place to fill up is Twin Pines
Casino right on Hwy 29 in Middletown on the way up. It has the cheapest gas.
-The property is at an elevation of 2000 ft on Mt Konocti, thus offering the
spectacular, unobstructed views of the Lake that guests long for. It is
located 5 miles from Hwy 29 and Soda Bay Rd. intersection. Only a 3.5 mile
section is windy but not an onerous drive, taking just 7 minutes.
-There is a parking space on the side of the road, at the top of the
driveway. which would have eliminated the need to back in.
Suggested remedies for those prone to car sickness - focus on the road
ahead and take the turns slowly.
In closing, Evolve and the caretaker are always available to answer any questions and provide local information to make the stay more enjoyable!"
Unbeatable views with all the space and peace you need
This property is fantastic - We came here looking for a quiet getaway weekend where we could just chill out and that's exactly what we got. Lots of open space in the main living area to lounge around (carpet is very soft). Big open windows to feel the sun and see the views at all times. The kitchen was very well stocked and the layout was ideal. The island and bar chairs made it so whoever was in the kitchen could have some company without anybody in their way cooking. Hanging out on the deck for sunrise, during the day, and in the evening were high points. TV's are great with roku's hooked up for access to all your apps.
Couple comments of caution:
- Driveway is very steep, but straight.
- Getting to this location requires driving on some pretty windy roads before you get to the community -> recommend doing this during daylight
- Furniture looks and is a little worn, but still perfect for your needs and we were very comfortable!!
-If you do choose to rent this place out, remember it's run by a property management company - we were charged a pre-determined "cleaning fee" that was more than renting the place out for a night. This was absurd, especially when it was just two of us - both mature adults that cleaned up after ourselves.
The view of the lake is just amazing, with a nice large deck and spacious living room and kitchen. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, and there’s a market and coffee shop about 10 mins drive away. Overall it was clean, just a couple minor things—there was an empty pack of cigarettes and small container of cigarette butts left in one of the bedrooms (luckily no smell), and it seems like it may be time for a new dishwasher as all the glasses had spots and some dishes/silverware didn’t look quite clean. If you have little ones, just know there isn’t seating for meals for them inside (just bars stools at the island in the kitchen), but we brought a travel high chair so that worked fine. I tried to email the property manager to ask if we might be able to check in early but never heard back (we ended up getting there after 4:00 anyways so everything worked out). A beautiful home!
The house was amazing beautiful view awesome kitchen stephanie was a great host. The only bad thing was the driveway it was super steep you have to reverse ur car in the drive.. Other than that it was great! brand new oven micro combo thay works awesome supet quiet neighborhood.
Things to beware of prior to staying here.
Things are broken; oven and huge telescope. Very disappointed we had no oven to use. The whole reason you rent a house vs hotel is to be able to cook. House advertised amazing views with this telescope which was not working.
Got a complaint about using the deck in the evening; we loved the deck and that was the selling point of this rental but you are not allowed to even speak back there past 9:30 pm. My parents in their 60's and myself talking was not allowed. Got a phone call the next morning. Yet the barking dog next store and partying neighbors were okay. The house also featured two decks, the lower deck was unusable due to spider webs everywhere and not being cleaned. House definitely needs a deep cleaning.

Response from VrboOwner on 28 Jul, 2020
Jennifer, the homeowner would like to pass along the following message:
'We are truly sorry your stay did not live up to your expectations. The oven is indeed not working as it should. Due to COVID-19, many businesses have shut down and the remaining are overbooked. We did provide a smaller, tabletop oven. Perhaps that did not meet your needs. The house is not advertised as providing amazing views with the huge telescope. The huge telescope is used to observe the stars and not take in the views. It needs some level of knowledge of astronomy to use. We provide two smaller telescopes to view the stars and three binoculars to take in the amazing views. There were two complaints about loud noises and singing till 1.00 am. The dogs were barking because the noise agitated them. They don't normally bark. The neighbors are elderly couples and retired veterans. They do not party. The property management company was informed of the complaint. They took action as appropriate. We are not in a position to differentiate between the two narratives. However, the house on either side and the back is flanked by two large vacant lots. There is considerable distance between the neighbors. Being a wooded area 2000 ft on the side of Mt. Konocti, it is possible that occasionally a couple of cobwebs form under the eaves of the deck, despite the spraying. At no time has the 750 sq ft deck been rendered unusable because of a couple of cobwebs. We understand your frustration and hence, the urge to post a very negative review."
Excellent balcony size , decor and two levels. Beautiful sunrise view with birds chirping.
Parking was downhill on a tricky slope. Must need two people or rear view camera
Utensils were a bit unclean. Oven was out of order. So also the big telescope as shown.
Spider webs were there at many places.
However it’s still a great place. Will highly recommend
We really love this place. It’s kid friendly and the views from this balcony are absolutely amazing. Great views from both decks. You will see rabbits and deer walk through the garden/Vineyard area. My kid loved it. It’s right out of Peter Rabbit.
Contrary to a few other reviews, I thought it was pretty clean. I did a quick wipe down of all the door knobs and handles because I’m Covid obsessed. Other than that, I felt at home and peace from the moment I walked in.
There is a full kitchen with plenty of appliances that are not on the VRBO amenities list. Don’t bring anything except food. Everything is totally taken care of.
I plan on coming back and making it my Clearlake spot!
The driveway was so steep that we had to park on the street and hike down & up. If the weather was as originally predicted (29 overnight) we would have "skied" our way down.
The house was spacious and well equipped, with a great view of the lake; great wi-fi and there was Netflix, though we didn't watch it.
It was dirty, with cobwebs and dust you could (and did) write your name in, and the carpet had not been cleaned in memory. We called the property manager and left a message on her voice mail, and have yet to hear back from her. We were charged a cleaning fee, which was a complete rip off, as it hadn't been properly cleaned prior to our stay and we would like a refund on that portion of the rental. I doubt that will happen, but it is what would be right and fair.
The sink in the lower bathroom was clogged. The outlet in the lower bathroom did not work, nor did the fan.
It was listed as a premium property, but it was far from that. We would not stay there again.
This property is as good as it gets if you are in the clearlake area. Sweeping views of the lake from 2 separate decks! The living room has huge windows that capitalize the views. Very comfortable for our party of 6. My parents truly enjoyed the stay as did my kids, beautiful sunrise and moonrise. Close to clear lake state park as well, the owner gave us tips on where to shop for groceries and dinner. The pantry is also well stocked, lots of pots pans and utensils, kids enjoyed trying the guitar, harmonica and the keyboard. Roku in living room and 2 other rooms downstairs. Appliances are dated, but work well, so we had no issues. There is a new refrigerator in the garage, so maybe the owner is in the middle of a remodel. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we would definitely want to come back when in the area again.
Spacious sized rooms with fabulous views of the lake from both the lower and upper decks

Great lakehouse with amazing views
Spacious cabin with ample natural light, huge deck with unobstructed lake views.
We received directions to check in well in advance before the trip. Sunil (our host) was mindful to check with me if we needed an early check in. The directions were precise and the house was easy to locate. The house was clean when we arrived. Heater was turned on before our arrival so the house was warm. All cabinets in the kitchen were labeled making everything accessible and easy to find. The host also gave us courtesy late checkout hence our check out relaxed and smooth.
I highly recommend staying at the lake house and look forward to visiting again.

Gorgeous views of Clear Lake
The property is as described, clean and well maintained. The views of Clear Lake from the decks and Living Room are remarkable. Great location and the owners and manager were very friendly. We would recommend the property and hope to visit again.
