About this property

Ocean front facing luxury apartment in excellent location- Roda Mar

This self catering apartment facing the ocean overlooking the promenade and landscaped gardens, is in a excellent location, for your holiday rental, relaxing, beautiful sea views. Situated on the popular Estrada Monumental, where many 5 star hotels and restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi ranks, bus stop, all within a few minutes walk. The centre of Funchal is a 5-10min ride by bus/ taxi. Or a pleasant walk along the promenade for about 25 minutes. There is a coastal promenade adjacent to the apartment complex, which also gives access to natural rock pools and two swimming complex's. Also, there is a new health club, with indoor swim/pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, tennis court, etc close by. The apartment faces seawards and with its 3rd floor location enjoys beautiful sea views. Furnished to a very high standard. Fully equipped for your every need. We are there to add that personal touch, and greet you on your arrival, and to insure you have a relaxing holiday.


On your arrival: On your arrival we can arrange for transport to and from the airport to the apartment for you, we have a father and son taxi driver's who we have used for many years, and are friendly and very reliable, and speak very good English. They will collect you from the airport and take you to the apartment where we will be there to greet you and show you around the apartment, and to answer any questions you may have. There will be a welcome pack for you on arrival also.
If you should need any extra help or advice on anything, we would pleased to help.

On arrival at the apartment, when I greet you. The tourist tax has to be paid to me, in cash. The cost is 2 euros per night, per guests. For the maximum of 7 nights. i.e. 14 euros each for a 7 night stay or more. Which I have to then pay to the local council on your behalf.

The apartment is very central, with good transport available close by, but if you should wish to hire a car, there is a underground parking space available in the building.

On your departure: On your departure we will return to the apartment to bid you farewell, and to ensure you have had a good holiday. Time of departure from the apartment on the day is flexible, depending on the time of new arrival's. The usual time of departure is 10am, but luggage can be left until your departure to the airport.

Great getaway, ideal location

Rose Marie welcomed me for a week in her apartment, which was very comfortable to stay in and superbly equipped, she has truly made this a home from home for visitors. It is in an Ideal location with convenient shopping facilities close by and excellent transport links. Abundant eateries are within minutes walk and there is a lovely sea view from the balcony. There are also spectacular walks along the promenade close by.I would highly recommend this apartment!

What an absolute fantastic apartment, excellent location, very very clean, responsive Owner answered all our questions quickly. The view from the balcony was amazing! Easily accessible to many restaurants. The promenade, where you can walk along the beach, is just in your backyard. We loved our stay there and would definitely recommend.

Lovely property in quiet building

We had a great two weeks staying in Funchal. Lovely well maintained property near coast. A good base for exploring the island and plenty of good restaurants locally.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay in Rose Marie’s apartment. The location was perfect with grocery store in shopping mall across the street. Also access to taxis and the bus stop was just out side the apartment building entrance. Lots of good restaurants nearby. We enjoyed many meals and glasses of wine on the balcony. Views of the ocean were spectacular. Complimentary maid service once a week was really appreciated. Thanks again Rose Marie. We loved Madeira

Perfect location!

We had the pleasure of staying at this property. Rosemarie is a great host, very attentive, first time I had a host greet us in person and walk us through the property. Even provided some staples for the fridge! Very thoughtful. Property is within walking distance to many good restaurants and shopping. Convenient Taxi stand in front of the property. We took a taxi to the outdoor market in Funchal and walked back. About an hour but it was a nice leisurely stroll. We will definitely stay at this property again when we return!

A beautiful apartment in a perfect location. We were met by Rose Marie who showed us around the apartment and pointed out restaurants, supermarket and bus stop etc. The apartment is like home from home it had everything we needed and Rose Marie left a few little luxuries so we didn’t need to go out, which was really lovely after arriving late in the day. WiFi was excellent and fans were available in the bedroom and living area. The supermarket is straight across the road in the shopping centre and restaurants are plentiful and all within a few minutes walk. We walked into Funchal and also into Camara de Lobos both along the promenade which was lovely. Would we stay in this apartment again? Most definitely, it’s 5 stars from us.

Wonderful stay in Sao Martinho
