Funky, charming and pleasant!

We rented the house for a long weekend to mountain bike in the central VT area. The house was great for our group. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. The house is unique - the layout is very open, with two living room areas on either side of the fireplace. It would have been nice to make more use of the deck, but we were gone most of the day.

An amazingly quirky property to meet all your needs!

Right away, before even arriving at the Chalet, Vicky made me feel extremely welcome at their family house. There were no unnecessary or bothersome phone calls or messages, just a welcome contact phone call a few days before my arrival with my friends. She was very helpful and friendly, suggesting things to do in the area that may be of interest and also reinforcing the idea that we were welcome in her home and also encouraged to use anything there in the house if needed. I received an email listing the few things that needed to be done upon arrival as well as before leaving (and let me tell you, my wife stayed at another home across town listed on VRBO and my list was MICROSCOPIC in comparison, even though we both paid the same cleaning fee price) Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome basket full of local items including maple syrup, wine, and jam. A card was also enclosed with a warm welcome. Eerything was very clean and neat and the house was well stocked with anything you could need from pots and pans to a coffee grinder/maker and we LOVED the barbecue grill. The crows nest was a wonderfully fun feature for my friends and I, and the openness of the floor plan was fun and perfect for our needs because we could have some people sleeping while others were hanging out in various parts of the house and one could still feel a part of all conversations if you were awake. Lots of board game options. The kitchen table and patio came in handy as the kitchen seated all 10 of us when needed but we could go out on the patio as well on warm nights or if we barbequed. Tons of blankets, pillows, and towels were made readily available, and the house even had small amenities usually seen in hotels such as personal shampoos or soaps or lotions of all types, even a sewing kit if you found yourself forgetting certain items. The refrigerator and kitchen were incredibly convenient for not having ten people eating out for every meal. The town store had everything needed for food selection, and upon later inspection there is even a small Shaws grocery in town as well. I would very highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the atmosphere described. The house is very well described on VRBO and fits the description you expect upon walking in. No surprises. Lovely owner, and a lovely area with a wonderful house will complete anyone's experience nicely. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.
