Fantastic Value
Bull Ray House surpassed our expectations for the price range, with the added bonus of linen and towels included. The house is compact but perfect for a family of four who needed a home base. My only comment would be to put the BBQ on the deck. Sally is an excellent and efficient host.
We had a very pleasant two weeks at Bull Ray House which is lovely and airy, up high on stilts, with two great balconies. The local magpies came to visit us every day and we were comfortable and happy. It was nice to have sheets and bath towels provided, and a dishwasher and washing machine to boot.
There were a couple of downsides to the property though, aside from the lack of wifi (which was certainly not compensated for by the very slender DVD collection). One was the rather basic kitchen equipment (eg. no wooden spoon, small frypan, or whisk for our Christmas cream). The other was the shower which ran at more of a dribble than a jet, and which ran out of hot water rather quickly. It’s surprising how much you miss a decent shower at the beach!
Frankly we thought the price was a bit steep for this place (having stayed in some other very well appointed places in Currarong for less in my 20+ years of going there for summer holidays), but nonetheless we were grateful for all its upsides.
