Family villa with pool & spectacular views

A tastefully renovated Andalusian farmhouse, surrounded by it's own gardens and with the most wonderful views - La Luna provides the seclusion and peace required for the best of holidays. All the comforts of home are on-hand in the spacious rooms, however, if you feel like getting out, there are plenty of good local restaurants, markets and shops a few minutes away. The Mediterranean is one of the views and a short drive away for the pleasures of the beach, water-sports, diving etc. All the attractions of Marbella, Sevilla, Grenada, Cordoba are there for extended day-trips - with Malaga and Nerja even closer - but - why not relax by the pool or on one of our shaded terraces and enjoy your place in the sun.


La Luna: is secluded from any neighbours - and is on a private track overlooking the slopes of a verdant valley, covered in olive and almond groves and grape vines. The only disturbances may be the occasional farmer on his mule or goat herder with his animals. For those who love the sound of birds singing, relaxing with a good book - or an all-over suntan - you will find these and more at La Luna.

Local attractions: - - La Luna is in a collection of widely scattered rural houses at the top of a low mountain ridge. A few miles away is Lake Vinuela with swimming, boating and now with a number of good quality restaurants. Some 12 miles on is the typically Spanish town of Velez Malaga, with banks, cinemas and a major shopping centre. A few miles further and you are in the beach resort of Torre del Mar with all the usual water-parks, well maintained beachfront with bars, restaurants, discos, water sports....

Axarquia: - the south-east portion of Malaga province - is made up of mountains and the Mediterrean coastline. The mountains are largely protected national parks - somewhat wild and barren, with a band of varied agricultural lands on the slopes down to the sea. It's an old area - prehistoric man was here, the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Moors all were visitors and it has it's own deep beauty. La Luna is in the centre of all this - with ready access to Malaga, Nerja and with Granada, Cordoba, Marbella and even Sevilla close enough for a day trip.

Wonderful hillside house and great pool

We stayed at La Luna for 11 nights in August and it was just magic. Kids enjoyed the pool every day and the house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. I definately recommend this to families with young kids.

Secluded oasis

This property in the hills near Velez Malaga exceeded our expectations. The property was spacious and had every amenity that you could want. If you want peace and quiet then this is the location. It has air con in the rooms that cooled effectively when required. The outside area is where we spent most time and the pool was great. The local shop stocked everything which was a 10 min drive so good for that.

Paradise in the Mountains

This was our 10th consecutive Spanish villa holiday and La Luna shoots right to the top of our favourites.We've never been in such a 'well fitted' villa - there was absolutely nothing we required that wasn't supplied.The setting is very tranquil and private.The access road is 'interesting' but our standard hire car coped without any problems.There are numerous patios and shaded areas and the views are amazing. The pool was excellent with a constant temperature of 30C.A wonderful villa in a wonderful location - highly recommended.

La Luna

Wonderful rural villa, with amazing views, lovely different sitting areas, sparkly evening lighting in the garden and a very well equipped kitchen. If you enjoy peace and quiet, tranquility, reading and cooking, this is the place to stay. There is also a lovely swimming pool, and we also enjoyed watching the sunset every evening. There are also some lovely walks around the villa, with spectacular views of Lake Vinuela. Thankyou Josee and David !

Wonderful

The house is spotlessly clean and well laid out with a well equipped kitchen, the large double bed was so comfortable, when you are sat or relaxing outside the peace and quiet is so tranquil, the pool was warm because the sun was on it most of the day, the owners are truly lovely people who were very helpful with any questions we had, I will also miss all the wildlife including the birds, lizards and geckos, we will definitely be returning to this gem set in such a beautiful area.

Spectacular

La Luna proves to be an amazing holiday spot. Stunning views tons of privacy and lovely gardens. The barbacue/ fireplace is a wonderful feature cause in the fall it is nice to have a fire in the evening as some of them get a little cool. The pool is great and needed as it can get very hot and a little dip helps to cool you down. La Luna is cozy and definitely felt like home. The bedrooms were lovely lots of space and light. Did I mention the wicked bathroom, I loved it, there is nothing better than a nice bathroom. Also loved the kitchen. Very quaint. All in all good times had by all and I highly recommend anyone to holiday at La Luna!!!!

Beautiful place to relax and unwind

The photos on the website don’t do the villa justice, it really is the most beautiful place! The pool was so clean and warm and the children were happy to spend most (if not all!) of their time there. There are lovely shady spots around the villa to sit and relax. It was spotlessly clean with a modern, well equipped kitchen and air conditioning in every room. The views were spectacular and even more breathtaking as the sun began to set. The one thing we would improve would be to be provided with a map of the local area as we flew in to Malaga in the evening and had to find the villa in the dark along some pretty steep and narrow rural roads which isn’t for the faint hearted! Stock up at the supermarket before you arrive as the location is very rural and bring plenty of suncream and water as it is so very hot up in the hills! A perfect place to relax and unwind, thank you for letting us stay!

Loved La Luna

Arrived at La Luna ,for our first day after a challenging drive in our small fiat 500 , a city car, the winding road got better and easier as the days went by, next time we would get a better car, The villa was like home from home, with great views, the pool constantly 30c we took a early morning dip, and a late night dip, never being cold once, and a well kept pool, one of the best, We had every thing we needed in the villa, and more, a great big range cooker, and BBQ to cook all our meals, air conditioning in all rooms, and what a difference it made, especially on them very warm nights, The bedroom very spacious with a more than adequate bed, lots of bedding, towels, a very good walk in shower, Wi-Fi worked perfectly in doors and out no problem, The pool are is spacious, with cover from the hot sun, and plenty of sunbeds, and the view was stunning, a very private, peaceful area, The dinning out side was fantastic, and at night with all the solar lights such a romantic setting, Overall a very very peaceful place to stay, the best maintained pool we’ve experienced at all the villas we have rented, every thing we needed was there to make our stay feel like home, We are planning a second visit

Petit coin de paradis

La villa a beaucoup de charme et est très bien équipée, il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour se sentir comme chez soi. La piscine est parfaite ainsi que la vue imprenable. Concernant l'accès à la villa, c'est un peu sportif et chaotique mais rien de méchant. Les hotes sont très réactifs et répondent rapidement au moindre soucis. En bref, nous avons passé une semaine magnifique avec ma femme et ma fille et je reviendrais volontier à la villa "La Luna".

Genieten in een groene oase

We hebben hier twee weken genoten van de rust van de locatie, de fantastische uitzichten en het comfort van het knusse en persoonlijke huis. Het grote bed en de airco stonden garant voor een goede nachtrust. Het was warm, maar de bomen en struiken gaven veel verkoeling en natuurlijk het heerlijke zwembad ook. Het huis biedt alle inventaris die je nodig hebt, al is sommig materiaal wel aan vervanging toe. Onze puberzoon zat graag op de lekkere hoekbank (niet op de foto’s) te chillen. Er stonden veel potten met prachtige planten en bloemen buiten. De huisbewaarster komt die eventueel water geven, maar wij vonden het niet erg dat zelf te doen. Het is wel aan te raden om een goede lotion tegen muggen mee te nemen. Wat dat betreft, zijn de zwaluwen, vleermuizen en wespen (niet agressief, hou de waterbak gevuld voor ze) je vrienden. Deze komen dagelijks langs om zich te goed te doen aan de kleine ellendelingen. Zowel het contact met de huiseigenaar als de huisbewaarster was goed en vriendelijk. Handig om te weten: het poolhouse zit niet bij deze huur in en het licht in het zwembad werkt niet meer. En zoals je in vorige recensies kunt lezen, is het laatste stukje met de auto redelijk spannend over de bergweggetjes. Al met al is dit huis een aanrader als je op zoek bent naar rust, natuur en comfort. Bedankt dat we hier mochten verblijven!

Un paraíso en la montaña, muy cerca de la playa.

Marie Josee es encantadora y en todo momento dispuesta a facilitar la estancia. La casa está en un paraje impresionante, aislado y con un acceso algo complicado. Encontramos la casa muy limpia, tiene el baño y la cocina reformados y con todo el menaje y útiles que puedas necesitar. La piscina y la zona exterior son un paraíso, nos pillo plena ola de calor y había muchos mosquitos. En veinte minutos estás en Vélez-Málaga y también muy cerca hay varias playas. Está fenomenal para aislarte un poco y disfrutar de tranquilidad y un paisaje precioso.

Fantástico lugar para recargar energía

Fantástica casa ubicada muy cerca de Vélez-Málaga y Málaga. La casa súper bien equipada. Aire acondicionado, ventiladores, una cocina espectacular donde se puede preparar prácticamente de todo, barbacoa de gas, piscina, unas vistas espectaculares, en fin, un lugar ideal para descansar con tu pareja o familia. Hay algunas casas cerca, pero lo suficientemente lejos como para tener tranquilidad y privacidad. Los anfitriones, súper amables, y muy atentos a lo que pudiéramos necesitar. Repetiría sin dudarlo!

Lovely house

The kitchen has everything, makes cooking a joy. The pool area with views are stunning. Pool is good sized and quite deep (guessing 190-200 cm or so) kids had lots of fun in it. The house is quite large (don't think the pictures quite made it justice) Road to the house is a bit from the main road, about 8 minutes on steep, narrow, partly dirtroad of varying quality. A standard car will handle it if going carefully though. Other than that it is really an oasis away from Everything. Of all the houses we have rented in the last 10 years on trips this is probably the best in terms of kitchen, aircon, pool area etc. Can't really complain about anything, we had a great stay!

Fantastic place

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this rural villa. We spent most of our time in and around the pool with the water a constant 28°C. The weather was perfect and the villa had everything you could possibly need. The local caretaker, Joerg, was friendly and helpful. Contact with the owners was good - thank you.

Corner of Paradise

What more can one say that hasn't already been said about this fantastic property in an idyllic position and having rented villas for the past 16 years this was up there with the best of them. The accommodation was spacious and the outside areas providing both shady and sunny places to sit and relax with views to die for whilst the pool provided a cool relief from the heat of the day. Facilities were second to none and the kitchen had everything – and I mean everything – that you could ask for with the rest of the property being extremely comfortable and homely with large rooms and the bed being the biggest ever! It would have been very easy just to have stayed put and shut ourselves off from the rest of the world for two weeks but for those who like to go sightseeing then there are plenty of places within easy reach. This property is well recommended and our thanks David and Jose for allowing us to share their corner of paradise – we had a great time. PS Watch out for the 'goat' man!!

Idyllic

What a lovely relaxing week we spent here. A real get away from it all peaceful holiday. The villa is cosy and comfortable with a lovely well equipped kitchen. The pool area and garden were lovely and we spent most of our day moving from pool to shaded terrace to kitchen and back to the pool again. The views are beautiful across the valley and its very easy to just do nothing! We did venture out for a couple of day trips to Comares (the hilltop village) and Cutar - both of which can be seen across the valley, and also a day trip to Cordoba and a visit to the Mezquita - which was stunning. All in all, a fantastic time - we came back refreshed and chilled and ready to face an English winter! Thanks very much.
