The owners lives in Richmond VA and has been going to Nags Head for over 40 years. We raised two girls crabbing, fishing and playing on the beach. It is a great place for family fun and great memories.

South Nags Head is a great area. The area is quite and is within walking distance of the beach.
Things to do that are close by....
Jockey’s Ridge: The huge sand dune is a great place to walk up to the top. It is very popular for sunsets as the sun appears to set on the water of the sound. Also a big kite flying place and hang gliding.
Party/Head Boats: There are at least two head boats that will take you out for a half day fishing in the inlet. It costs about $45-$60 a person and they give you the rods and bait (squid only). You may want to bring some fresh shrimp to increase your fishing chances. You can bring a cooler, lunch and drink.
1) Ms Broad Creek Head Boat. 708 Harbor Rd, Wachese NC 252-473-9991. If you don’t catch much. O’Neils take out is in the same marina.
2) Ms Oregon Inlet Head Boat. 98 NC 12 Hwy Nags Head, NC 252 564-7905
3) There may be a head boat at Pirates Cove as well, but I don’t have that info. They all go to the inlet.
Other fun things: Jet Skis, Go-Karts, Putt-Putt, Lost Colony Outdoor Play, Manteo Waterfront, Manteo Aquarium, The decks underneath the Bridge to Manteo (turn down the road across from Pirates Cove), Manteo WWI open cockpit plane rides over the beach, Pirates Cove Marina, Walk out on Jennette’s Fishing Pier/Gift Shop, the new Adventure park ropes course (many stories high climbing course) it is right next to the outlet mall at MP 16. Closed toed shoes and nerves of steel required.

What makes this property unique
The cottage backs up to the Federal park and also has easy access to shopping, food and activities. It is very lose to Oregon inlet for boating and charter trips.
More things to do
Oregon Inlet Fishing Ctr Inc: 98 NC Hwy 12, Nags Head, NC 27959 (252) 441-6301
This is the main fishing center for the OBX north of Hatteras. If you go there between 4:00 and 5:00 you can usually see the boats coming in with tuna. You can go there to get the “head” boat, also inshore and off shore charters.
Bodie Island Lighthouse Area: The lighthouse is on route 12 a few miles south of the cottage. You can’t climb up this lighthouse, but you can at the one in Hatteras. To get to the nature area behind the Bodie lighthouse do the following: when you pull into the lighthouse road, stay right on the road and it will take you past a wooden gate. The gate is there to prevent cars going back to the duck lodge, but the road is open to the public for walking. This gate is across the field from the lighthouse, but leads to a nature trail, streams and a good place to see some nature. It’s also a good place to go crabbing. There can be mosquitoes on your walk so sometimes spray helps
The cottage is between Jennette's pier and the Outer Banks Pier. Great locations for fishing and site seeing. The Out banks pier is within walking distance and (1/4 mile) and has a great bar/restaurant on it for kids friendly meals right on the water.
