Viva Volcano Village!

Our 1933 Craftsman home is one of the 10 historic homes of Volcano Village. Purched in the canopy of the Ohia forest the songs of the ‘Apapane bird will serinade you from the tree tops around our balcony. Walking distance to stores and restaurants and less than 2 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Our home is the ideal location to launch your Volcano adventure.
The cool mountain climate and amazing hiking and bird trails are some of the reasons this area has traditionally been mostly second homes for Hawaii families living in Honolulu or other towns. Come share ours!

Perfect and cozy house for our family vacation. Store and restaurant close by to go to before and after adventuring out to the volcano park and Hilo .

Volcano visit

Convenient location and roomy property. Enjoyed Volcano Park and Black Sand beach as well as drive to Punalu u bakery. We will be back to enjoy this well appointed property.

Perfect location to visit Volcano National Park

We had a short stay, but a good night at this home. It was extremely clean and offered all the necessary amenities. The house was cozy and even decorated with a Christmas tree for the holidays. We wanted a full day + an evening in Volcano National Park and this house was perfect overnight accommodations for a family!

This property is so well taken care of and well maintained you could almost feel the love. The kitchen is well stocked for all meals, and we just love the location. The back lani is one of my favorite spots in the house, well and the fabulous tub too…

Thumbs Up for Viva Volcano Village

This property is absolutely perfect for Volcano Village. It has lots of charm, great amenities, and a perfect location. If you think you will explore Volcano National Park for more than one day, or are trying to time your stay around an eruption event, you can't beat this spot. Hilo is only 35min away if you need a beach day or some groceries. Our stay was amazing.

Old Hawaii Charm w/ Modern Comfort

Beautifully refurbished home in Volcano Village that provides convenience and comfort amidst the rainforest next to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. All rooms in the house are nicely appointed, beds are very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need...I highly recommend staying here as a base camp for this side of the Big Island.

Perfect blend of old and new Hawaii

Absolutely gorgeous property! Warm and inviting, with the feel of old Hawaii but with 21st century amenities. It's also perfectly located with easy access to VNP, eateries, and convenience shopping. Arieh was very responsive and helpful and clearly treasures this home as I came to treasure it.

Perfectly appointed, great location.

Tbh, from the outside, the house doesn’t look like much, but inside the house was tastefully decorated and kitted out with some really nice furniture and kitchen stuff. Of the three places we stayed this trip, this was the most thoughtfully designed. And it’s practically across the street from the park. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Such a cute house so close to the park

Second trip to Hawai’i, second time staying at this cute bungalow in Volcano. It’s well equipped, comfortable, and so convenient to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We loved the orchids blooming in the trees in the front yard. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Above and beyond

The owner went above and beyond for us on our trip as well as has some nice touches in the house such as candles and bath salts for the wonderful soaker tub. I would highly recommend. The property is also 5 minutes from the National park which is a big plus.

What an amazing, amazing old artisan home. Only five minutes away from the volcanic national park. The property manager was most gracious, and telling us locations nearby to eat. And what amenities? The area has plenty of room for our family which made an early arrival into the park very easy. We only stayed there one night but a very nice house and location.

Great place to stay when visiting Volcanoes National Park

This is a great place to stay. It's in the town of Volcano near Volcanoes National Park. Volcano isn't the nicest town, but this is a nice house in Volcano. Everything was very clean. The rooms were plenty big. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked great. Washer and dryer on the back porch. Loved the unit overall. Highly recommend it.

This house was amazing! It was beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable & the 2 bathrooms were very classy & clean. There was plenty of space for our group of 4. This house could easily accommodate a group as large as 6. Everything you need is there & it is within walking distance to a couple of small resaurants & a gas station. It is also less than 5 minutes from the entrance to Volcano NP. I would suggest to the host to provide coasters to set drinks on. We could only find 1 coaster so we used dishes to set our drinks on in the living room & bedrooms for fear of leaving wet rings on the beautiful wood coffee table & nightstands. The only thing I thought was weird was that we were instructed to wash our own linens & towels upon departure on the checkout list that was on the rerigerator. Since we paid a cleaning service fee when we booked, I wasn't sure why we were expected to wash our sheets & towels. Other than that this property exceeded all our expectations & Arieh was a great host & answered all our questions in a timely manner. Mahalo, Arieh! We love your house!

Beautiful, clean and well-maintained home. We were a family of six traveling by a rental minivan from Kona to Volcano village and Arieh’s home was in perfect proximity to visit the Hawaii National volcano park. Just about a 6 minute drive to the gate. Arieh is a very helpful, and responsive host letting me know beforehand that there’s only couple of restaurants around, so best to shop for groceries/any supplies in Hilo, and made the check-in process easy. We could park our van on the property. It is a unique home and we liked all the rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and lanai/balcony. Plenty of towels in the beautiful bathrooms. There is A/C and heater. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, utensils, large refrigerator, gas range/oven, coffee maker, toaster and other small appliances. We cooked some, and brewed fresh coffee from the coffee beans provided by the host—that was awesome! With all the snorkeling, and visiting beaches, we really needed to wash our clothes, and so the washer/dryer that is placed outside in the lanai was so useful. Not to mention enjoying the June weather sitting outside on the lanai chairs. The two nights we spent here was worth it. Mahalo.
