About this property

Treescape, Seascape Getaway

Our stylish studio is set on a treed acre, down a quiet lane, close to Ocean Grove village and beaches and with a nature reserve nearby. You'll love the quiet bushland setting, giving the impression of being in the country and allowing you to relax and unwind in peace. From this backdrop, you are only 4 minutes drive to the beach, supermarkets and town centre and close to all the activities the Bellarine is renowned for. In no time at all, you could be splashing in the waves, stand up paddle boarding, paragliding, skydiving, cycling the beach or rail trail, meeting wallabies in the Nature Reserve, strolling around beautiful Blue Waters Lake, sipping wine or setting off on a Great Ocean Road adventure...

Plenty of room for boats, bikes, boards, kids and caravans. Free bike loan, breakfast, Wifi and Netflix. ️‍

We are aiming to make the studio as sustainable as possible. It is powered by solar panels and a battery; the hot water service and air conditioner are both energy efficient heat pumps; and we minimise the waste going to landfill by recycling and composting.

The accommodation is popular, with 200+ stays since we started hosting 3 years ago, with our guests recognising that we value their experience. They enjoy the "vibe" of the space and describe it as "restful", "restorative", "airy", "leafy", and "tucked away, yet central to beach and shops".

The studio is fully self-contained, open plan, freshly painted throughout and is light and spacious. It consists of:
- one bedroom with a queen bed (with electric blanket) and also a comfortable fold out double sofa bed (located in the living area).
- a fully equipped kitchen (full sized fridge/freezer, free standing cooktop/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, saucepans, crockery, plates and a variety of tea, coffee and breakfast provisions).
- lounge/dining area (featuring a lovely, cosy freestanding gas fireplace and comfortable sofa, perfect for reclining on while you watch Netflix, leaf through a magazine or have an afternoon nap)
-private, roomy bathroom/laundry (supplied with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. There is a heater, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, washing machine and trough, and clothes/wetsuits can be dried on a clothes airer or shared washing line).
-private, fenced native courtyard garden

Guests can park undercover in a secure, remote-controlled garage and walk straight into the accommodation, so no lugging heavy bags over a distance. There is also a giant carport to shelter larger vehicles, including caravans, motorhomes and boats.

Guests have stayed with us for the following reasons so far:
- skydiving at Barwon Heads and Torquay
- as an excellent starting or finishing point for the Great Ocean Road
- golfing weekends at Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Clifton Springs Golf Clubs
- cycling the Bellarine Rail Trial and along the beach to Point Lonsdale
- attending weddings
- celebrating weddings, birthdays & anniversaries
-visiting local family & friends, but having their own space
-just hanging out at the beach or getting away from it all
-staging point for international travellers (Finnish, Belgian, Dutch, German. Italian, Canadian, Irish, Spanish, American, French, English and Singaporean so far)

A warm, friendly and reliable host genuinely interested in facilitating a great stay who was also able to anticipate possible needs - maps, cafes and restaurants relevant to guest food preferences, activities fitting in with guest interests etc. The breakfast pantry is varied and includes 2 hens eggs plus bacon per morning, healthy milk, fruit to go with yoghurt, actual butter and more. Shower is larger than standard, bathroom drawers include other extras, bed is super comfortable as is convertible lounge. Fridge and freezer also have other treats included.

Fabulous Studio

Fabulous Studio perfect for a couple for a weekend away (longer stays would also work). It is beautifully styled and has lovely linens and quality towels. There is a lovely private courtyard where the chickens come to visit while you relax with a coffee, tea or local wine. The Hosts provide a broad range of yummy produce for breakfast which was very much appreciated. Lorien was a delightful and helpful host.

Great communication with property owner and some beautiful touches to make the stay a little more special: breakfast provisions, quality linen and towels, shower gel and shampoo - great shower! - and chook food for the hens for when they came to visit us! Found this gem at the last minute and Lorien was kind enough to accommodate us. A lovely quiet location with everything you need. Perfect place away from the bustle of town but close enough to everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked. The pancake mix with fresh berries and maple syrup was perfect for a lazy morning without having to leave the house.

Botanical Charm & Generosity

We loved the studio apartment. It was full of charming and thoughtful details and I loved the books and artworks! Breakfast supplies were very generous, as were the toiletries. Bed super comfortable. What a wonderful weekend we had! The studio is just perfect and super cosy at night with the fireplace. It feels like a home away from home as Lorien’s attention to detail is second to none - from the cleanliness, the many amazing books, the quality furnishings and towels, to the ample pantry of food she provides. It is a true bed AND breakfast. We loved our stay in this peaceful locale away from the ‘suburbia’ of Ocean Grove. Waking to birdsong was just what we needed. As well as walks in the nearby Nature Reserve and along the beautiful beach. We WILL be back! 😊

It doesn't get any better!!!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway and Lorien greeted us by our names, right through to the beautiful little touches of fresh herbs, flowers and farm fresh eggs, this stay was amazing. The place was exceptionally clean, provided such warmth and entertainment and listening to the birds in the morning made us feel like we were in the middle of the native bush. If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. Just a brilliant stay, with incredible decor and great quality touches - like Sheridan towels and Sukin products. Thanks so much guys! It was so rejuvenating. 😀😀

We moved to the property 6 years ago and created the studio as the getaway that we would want to go to - we haven't managed to escape there often, as it has been very popular!
