Drake's Escape Cottage #1, Ideal location for Oneonta/Cooperstown

Please note: During "Baseball Season," I can only rent for the six days that you are scheduled to play. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Newly constructed, enjoy your "country stay in city limits" while sleeping in these cottages in the shape of a barn! Barns include a porch with roof and the largest yard in the city. Total of 2 cottages and one house to rent under Drake's Escape, Ideal choice for people who want to stay together. In each barn there are two bedrooms upstairs, two bedrooms down and two baths. Living/kitchen is combined. 900+ square feet! The pavilion is ready for your use to BBQ and have gatherings. Be aware the pavilion is a shared space for all three properties. Be prepared to make new friends. There is plenty of space for all!
Located only 7 min. from the All Star Village.

Drake's Escape was the perfect place to stay during our Cooperstown trip! The location was perfect - less than 10 minutes from the field and we were able to make few late night food runs for the boys when they had late games. We had grandparents with us and it was great to be able to go back to rest in between games and to minimize their time in the sun. Linda was the best host - when we accidentally locked ourselves out - she came by in less than 10 minutes to get us back in. This is the perfect spot to stay for Cooperstown!

I’m so happy that you enjoyed your stay. Our location makes it easy to jump on the main highway and go completely around the city which leads you right to the baseball field. Perfect for taking a break when you’ve had enough baseball, or heat or rain as well of course. I never knows what the weather is going to , especially these days. I’m always available to come help out if needed. I was happy to help you and you locked yourself out. My goal is to make sure everyone has a wonderful time on a vacation and is able to create some terrific memories while staying in a very clean nice home.

Great stay for baseball tournament!

We had a wonderful week in the cabin! Our family of 3 as well as two sets of grandparents had a very comfortable visit. The place was clean, convenient and spacious. We used the pavilions a few nights for team get togethers and it was so fun! Definitely recommend this place!

Linda was awesome and very responsive to all my questions. This was a perfect stay for our baseball families. The outdoor bbq patio was great and we used it several times even with the rain we were able to enjoy it since it had a patio top cover. I would definitely recommend Drake’s Escape for the perfect Cooperstown trip!!!

Perfect setup!

Drakes Escape was the perfect location and place to stay when your child is playing at All Star Dreams. You are close to the fields, close to downtown Oneonta, and the pavilion/area for kids to play is absolutely perfect! We did a bbq one night and got our whole team together and it was a blast! I would highly recommend Linda and Drakes Escape! Linda was always there to answer questions if needed and provided us with anything we needed!

Perfect CASV group accommodations

Drake’s escape did not disappoint. We were only 10 minutes from CASV with lots around us (grocery and restaurants). Our cottage was perfect for 2 families. We had our own space plus shared space. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The owners were amazing. Attentive and informative. With the 3 places on one property, this is the perfect location for team families to rent together. We enjoyed the shared pavilion each evening to finish our days. If you have a group looking to be close together, check this place out!

Cooperstown All Star Village Event

This property is perfect for a family who likes to eat out and stay in to cook. It is practically brand new. It's only about 12 minutes from All Star Village and only 5 minutes from the downtown area that has some great places to eat. It's important to be close to the fields since you'll be driving to/from the fields several times a day. This house also has a washer/dryer which is CRITICAL. Your clothes will be so dusty and dirty after days at the field and your son's baseball clothes will stink! We would absolutely stay here again.

What a terrific place to stay!!!

Last week we stayed at the Drake's Escape Barn for my son's tournament in Cooperstown. The house itself was brand new, clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. We were fortunate enough to meet Linda (the owner) in person, who is very nice and incredibly attentive with her communication and obviously cares very much about the experience people have in staying at her rental. I recommend this listing without even the slightest hesitation. Further, it should be noted that she has two adjacent properties (soon to be more) that could be used for the purpose of having a lot of your team together on the same property. There's a pavilion so the team could have a great picnic and BBQ. Thanks for a great week Linda!

Quick to Cooperstown All Star Village

We originally booked at a local hotel. When we got to the hotel, it was a nightmare! We quickly started looking for a home and found Drake’s Escape. The owner, Linda, responded to our SOS immediately! She gave us the address to drive by and she even met us there. Her hospitality and kindness was amazing. We thoroughly loved our stay. Our last night, we used the BBQ and sat outside for our last dinner at the house. We comfortably fit two families of 3 and had room for maybe 1 more family. We were there for Cooperstown. The identical house next store is also hers and the entire property is large enough for a few baseball families to stay together and enjoy the huge yard and BBQ.

I am a bank of information for directions and fun things to do around here. We love to travel and I have some of my photographs in the house. I hope you enjoy them.

Why they chose this property

I purchased this land in 2018. The large yard connects to the home where I raised my three children. Newly constructed cottages in shape of a barn gives you that country feel in city limits! They are spacious inside and has plenty of space for the children to play or for you to relax.

What makes this property unique

Once you wind your way down the streets to these barns, one forgets that you are in the city of Oneonta. My children learned to ride bikes on the dead end street next door. It was a place that they could run and play outside and I didn't have to worry about them. These barn cottages, combined with the other home, have the largest yard in Oneonta for your family to enjoy.
Oneonta and surroundings offers a lot of entertainment. Some examples are: Oneonta Tigers (minor league baseball team) games in the park down the road, two beautiful parks, Orpheus Theatre, Franklin Play Company, Glimmerglass Opera, many small lakes to visit, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame (of course), The Farmer's Museum, The Fennimore House, and much more!!!!!!!!!
