Beautiful villa
The villa was immaculate, beautifully presented, lovely fluffy towels, nice sheets and beds. Super clean.
The owner lives behind the house.
Was the best place we stayed in our 3 weeks in NZ. 3br, 2 bath perfect for our family of 5. Simone was an excellent and informative host. The kitchen was so thoughtfully appointed with all the little extras that are so helpful when traveling. It was a super spot!!

Glad you all had such a great stay, enjoyed all the little extras, and thrilled to be the best place you stayed on your NZ adventure! Thank you for the lovely feedback.
This beautiful, historic home is incredible. It’s history and restoration are amazing! My husband and I walked everywhere in Christchurch city center as the location was absolutely perfect! The owners are very accessible and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better stay than this lovely home.
We loved our stay in this beautifully restored home right in the heart of Christchurch. It was comfortable in every way. And Simone was great to work with and full of valuable and interesting information that she shared about the community and the restoration of her home. I highly recommend this property. Thank you Simone!
We stayed here for 9 days and it was perfect. The house was totally restored after the earthquake, and it shows. Very modern inside but preserving the classic look outside. There are three bedrooms with three new queen beds, and two bathrooms, both with showers. There is excellent off street parking (and even charging for electric cars). A full kitchen at the centre of the house, and a large TV. Immaculately clean. It is a 15-minute walk to Cathedral square and 2 minutes to Pomeroy's, a nice pub with good food. Also very close (5 min?) to the Avon river walk. The real highlight, though, is the owners, who live adjacent but very much respect privacy. We learned so much about the city from Simone. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
This is a beautiful property! The restored house is a stunner. It was super clean and comfortable. The hosts have clearly put a lot of work and heart into the home. The home has some high-end finishes I wasn't expecting (the heated bathroom floors and neat windows come to mind), that we really enjoyed. Beautifully decorated. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to dinner every night with friends and explore the city during the day without having to drive in. We stayed there with our 5 kids (ages 18 months to 14 years). There was plenty of space. Simone and Joe were lovely hosts. Simone took the time to give us some recommendations for how to spend our time in Christchurch and they were spot on (not an easy feat for a group with a broad age range like ours). If we ever get the chance to stay in Christchurch in the future we would be delighted to stay here again.

We're so you pleased your whole family had such a great stay and enjoyed all the central city delights. Thank you for staying and the lovely review :-)
It was hard to decide where to stay in Christchurch until we saw the photo of Simone and Joe's property...the red house with the blue door! Then we realized it was an historic building, always a plus for us. It looked close to downtown and turned out to be within short walking distance. When we arrived, Joe showed us into a beautiful, comfortable, perfect for us space that immediately felt like home. But the best was yet to come when we were able to talk with Simone, who (energetically) gave us invaluable information about Christchurch, and with both Joe and Simone to discuss life, values, commitments, principles, and goals for people in New Zealand, the US, everywhere. We were so impressed with their hospitality, energy and dedication to doing what will make Christchurch and the world a better place. Thanks are not enough to express our feelings.

We're thrilled you all felt at home at the red house with the blue door and were able to make the most of downtown location. The pleasure was absolutely mutual - thank you for the lovely feedback.
We had a wonderful time . It was clean and great location for our family. Simone was a great host very thoughtful and helpful with our stay. Definitely recommend!!!
Overall we had a lovely family stay (2 adults, 3 children and 1 infant) at the cottage. Great location with a nice family friendly pub a very short walk for dinner with an attached cafe for breakfast - perfect! Cottage was lovely and warm with the hosts kindly checking on arrival time so they could pop the heat pumps on ready and the boxes of duplo and LEGO a bonus. I would note though that the trampoline, playground and spa aren’t in the cottage garden but the owners next door which they are happy for you to access/use. Whilst they are very accommodating this needs to be updated in the description so you can make an informed decision as having to call up to be able to use the spa and walking across someone else’s garden in my costume wasn’t what I had planned! Overall a nice wee place.

Thank you for the review - we're glad the family enjoyed the central city location, cosy home and extras that make it easier when travelling with children. Thanks for the advice re the location of the spa, I have updated this in the description. We're pleased the whole family enjoyed using the spa, including all the bubbles!
House is nicely furnished with new items. The beds were fantastic, first time I have slept in a bed that I thought was better than my own.

We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay in central city and found it so comfortable! A pleasure to meet you all :-)
The property was very well located for access to the centre of the City which allowed us to leave the car at the property and walk into town. The house was well set up and ideally suited to families, with plenty of room for everyone to relax. Beds were very comfortable with clean, quality linen and the living area was also comfortably furnished. The owners made it easy to enjoy. I consider that the property was great value and would recommend it to others.
