Wonderful home!
This was the perfect home for our family's two week stay. The home is new with beautiful finishes and decor and was fully loaded with everything we needed (the pictures don't do it justice). It is very comfortable with plenty of space to gather. It's located very close to groceries, freeway and about 15 minutes from Mayo. Jason was wonderful to work with and always available. I highly recommend this home to anyone coming to stay in the area.

We needed a place to stay in Rochester while our house was undergoing repairs for a week. This spacious rental home was perfect for our needs as a family--big kitchen with an open concept dining and living area, exercise equipment in the lower level, and multiple bedrooms for quiet distance learning kids. The house was immaculate upon check in and everything was in perfect shape. The residential neighborhood was on a quiet cul-de-sac. Would definitely stay here again if needed and would recommend if we have out of town guests.

Thank you for the great review! We are happy that we could host you.
My husband and his brother had kidney transplant/donor surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and this house was the perfect place for them (and their caretaker/wives) to recover! A very easy and convenient drive to the Clinic, only minutes away from many restaurant options, and plenty of places that will deliver food or groceries if that’s what you need. There was lots of space, the neighborhood was lovely, the kitchen was extremely well stocked for those who choose to cook, the beds were very comfortable, the WiFi was reliable and fast, the Roku television set-up was great, the fireplace was attractive and gave off lots of heat, and the attached garage was priceless during December in Rochester. The only slight negative for us was the absence of the treadmill that was advertised in the VRBO listing, and which I confirmed would be available in an email exchange with the property manager prior to renting the property. The weather turned out to be nice enough for a little bit of outside walking, but it would have been safer and better if the promised treadmill had been there. Overall, a great place to stay while in Rochester!

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Nice property, would not stay here again due to poor hosts
The good:
The property is nice and in a quiet neighborhood and the property matched the description in the listing.
The bad:
1) We were in Rochester for about a month for an organ transplant at Mayo Clinic. At the end of the stay, we informed the host we had left the property but my sister would be by the next day to pickup food we had left behind. When my sister arrived the next day, the home was locked. I contacted the hosts, and to our surprise, the home had been cleaned and re-rented! We still had it reserved for another 4 nights! I contacted the host and VRBO support and the host credited us for the food that was lost. However, the host violated VRBO policy by double booking through another site, and neither VRBO nor the host did anything to credit our nights of double booking. When pressed, they supposedly found other accommodations for the new guests, and that we could have it that afternoon. However, they would not provide proof that the home had been cleaned, and expected us to re-occupy it. I will not stay at any of this host’s properties again given this troubling behavior.
2) When we arrived, there were 4 wasp nests, one of them massive (about the size of a soccer ball). Two were above the garage door and two were above the front entrance. We had elderly guests with us who are allergic, so this presented a safety hazard. It took >24 hrs and multiple messages to the host to get these removed.
3) Upon arrival, the home was missing some basic items such as cutting boards, spatulas, and coffee cups. We bought JetDry and re-wash the glasses as they were hazy due to being washed without. To the host’s credit, they did drop off all the items we informed them were missing, but for a home marketed as “luxury” and “executive” I would not have expected to provide shopping lists for the hosts to get the property properly stocked.
4) One evening a smoke detector began beeping due to a low battery. We contacted the host that evening, but they couldn’t come until the next day so we had to attempt to sleep through the night with a smoke detector beeping. The next day they came by to replace the battery, and left batteries so we could change them if any more began beeping. Again, we were in town for organ transplant. We had lifting restrictions, and were in no position to be maintaining a VRBO home. The hosts should be replacing these batteries on a yearly basis so guests don’t have to deal with it whatsoever.

It is too bad that others are not able to view the actual facts and communication on the VRBO platform that we had with Bryan. We went above and beyond to try and please this very demanding guest. He actually warned us with a bad review if we did not accomodate his wants. We not only bought a few more coffee cups but purchased $150 worth of kitchen items that he complained about. We were happy to do so. Yes, batteries wear out and yes we are required to change them out once a year for our rental certification and yes they were just changed out in August and inspected by the city. He called at 9:30pm for us to come and change out a battery in a room that no one was sleeping in. I was there right away in the morning and was met by his sister who said, " I don't know why you rushed over here, it wasn't bothering anyone and no one even uses that room".
We clearly did not break any guidlines with VRBO. If we had, then this listing would not even be up anymore. Bryan was very clear that they were done with the home and leaving for home in another state and no longer needed the house due to his care being completed early. Bryan though he would "get us in trouble and called VRBO to tell them we had violated their rules". After speaking at length with VRBO about the situation we were told that he had indeed indicated in writing that he had vacated the home and it was in our rights to have the house cleaned and ready for the next guest. His sister did not come and get the leftover food in the refridgerator until the day after he said she was coming. We are not going to wait for someone to come back after 24 hours of vacating the home to get leftovers. We primarily serve patients coming for care at the clinic and there is always a need for lodging. Our delight is finding a place for them.
He failed to mention that in his rage he boasted that there was over $200 worth of leftover food. Our cleaners cleaned out the refridgerator and we graciously refunded him $200 even though the cleaners said there was only a few items in there. In the end Bryan showed his true egotistical colors and my guess pushes people around way too often in this world to get what he wants. He is one of the only guests in the 8 years we have been doing this who we would never rent to again due to his poor character.
Could not have asked for a better property and host!
We were in Rochester for the months of November and December for a family member going through treatment at Mayo. This house was perfect for the patient and the multiple care givers required to support the process.
There was ample space for those who needed to work and for the patient when he needed some downtime.
When we arrived, the exercise equipment was not located in the basement, as shown in the pictures. But, one note to our hosts and new equipment was delivered and installed. This was our experience with any questions we had during our stay. They were very quick to respond and extremely helpful.
We would not hesitate to stay there again, should we need to return to Rochester!
This house worked out well for my family. Very nice clean place.

This is a luxury home with everything you’d ever need. It is in a quiet and safe neighborhood.
You will not be disappointed! This house was beautifully decorated, had a well stocked kitchen any chef would love to cook in! We were here for the clinic and couldn’t have been happier with its proximity to Mayo.

Fantastic Property & Experience
Hands down great experience. Great furniture, comfortable beds, fast WiFi, and fantastic newer high end neighborhood with lots of kids. I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was our first experience with VRBO. Jason was awesome through the entire process. My family had some difficult variables to plan around and he’s was nothing but accomoadating and professional through the entire experience.
Thumbs up/ A+/highly recommended, whatever fits your fancy...it’s a great place with a great manager behind it. Thanks again!

Great house less than ten minute drive to Mayo Clinic.
Very comfortable home less than 10 minutes away from Mayo Clinic. Pretty and safe neighborhood. House was in great shape EXCEPT for the kitchen appliances, which need to be replaced. We would definitely rent here again if we visit Rochester in the future.

Met all of our needs - including comfort
We had an extended stay with my husband’s medical treatment at Mayo. This home made us feel like we were… at home. It was spacious, conveniently close to drive to Mayo, beautifully decorated, new, and clean. Set back in a very nice neighborhood, we were able to take extended walks, enjoy meals from the gas grill on the back deck, and enjoy our surroundings. Money well spent. Highly recommended.

Excellent house providing maximum comfort
Hi Jason,
Our family stayed at your home in Rochester, MN for a visit to Mayo Clinic. We stayed 2 weeks at this house and found it to be very comfortable. Only a 10 min drive from the Clinic, you will need a car if you rent this home. The kitchen was stocked for cooking. The home was maintained very well and super clean and the construction of the house was total quality. We enjoyed the deck in the back as we were able to see many deer behind the house. A few suggestions to improve the house: Selection of more channels on the TV. We were at the house a lot in between procedures and surgery so it would have been nice to have more channels. Maybe even an international option such as DFH would expand your ability to rent to families from other countries since this company covers stations world wide at a reasonable cost. We live in South Texas and have it at our home. Also, more seating in the living room would be great with 4 or more people. The fitness center in the basement allowed us to keep up our exercise. It was great to have a company clearing our driveway immediately of the snow making it easy for us to get in and out of the garage.
We highly recommend this home as an alternative to a hotel in Rochester, MN if your stay is more than a week. My mother in law is not too mobile using a walker and it was very convenient for her, as well. Jason, we appreciated your prompt response for our stay there for health issues. We would highly recommend this property for others and would stay again if we come back to Mayo Clinic for other reasons in the future.

Perfect home with everything provided
We stayed at this property for two weeks for a family wedding in the midst of winter. We found it easily accommodated our adult family of six and also a couple of overnight visitors. There was plenty of space for everyone. The heating was perfect for the very cold conditions outside.
The kitchen was a wonderful space to work in and all utensils were there, as well as spices, coffee and sugar etc.
The whole house was beautiful and clean, with everything in new condition. The bedding and linen provided was very good quality and ensured that everyone was comfortable and relaxed.
We felt very safe and secure and found it easy to get anywhere, although at this time of the year a vehicle is definitely needed.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone needing to stay in Rochester.
Thank you.

A Perfect Home Away From Home!
My husband had a liver transplant at Mayo Clinic/Hospital in Rochester on Nov. 22. For the transplant recovery, we needed to stay in Rochester for about 4 weeks. Instead of staying at the Gift of Life house, we thought it would be nice to rent a house for us, his parents and any other family that will stay with us over the month. This house was PERFECT!
LAYOUT: The layout was great. The master bedroom and attached bath with walk-in shower were perfect for someone recovering from surgery. The main floor also has 2 other bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, so those were perfect for his parents and other relatives. The kitchen, dining table and living area was also great for everyone to be together while cooking dinner and hanging out throughout the day. The basement has 2 additional bedrooms and a beautiful living area with a wet bar, full-size refrigerator, and lots of cupboard space.
AMENITIES: This house is brand new and has all brand new appliances, TVs, etc. The TV in the main living room is a smart TV, so we were able to watch Netflix (if you have an account), Amazon Prime, etc. There's a DVD player as well. The master bedroom has a TV and the basement has a large TV. There is a washer and dryer on the main floor which we ended up using a lot during our month stay! It's also very well supplied with cookware, small appliances, towels, blankets - everything you would need! We were lucky with the weather in that it only snowed a couple of times. When it did snow, the driveway/walkway to the front door was plowed/shoveled right away.
LOCATION: The location is great. It's a few miles north of the Mayo Clinic and is very close to a grocery store, Shopko, and a movie theater. The neighborhood is also beautiful and safe. The house is at the end of a hill, but even with the snowfall, the hill was nicely salted, so we didn't have a problem getting up and down it.
A couple of other things that took this place above and beyond other rental properties: The owners welcomed us with a basket of a few things that we may have forgotten (toothbrushes, a razor, etc.). So sweet!! We also were welcomed with a beautiful 6 foot decorated Christmas tree. We would HIGHLY recommend this house if you're staying in Rochester for any reason, but it was perfect for our home away from home for a month. Thank you!
