GREAT location! We thought the lodging itself was very nice. We had to ask for a bathmat but it was there within 2 hours, so property managers were very responsive to requests. Mattress was just the right firmness. Loved the wooden floors and the sturdy furniture.

Very Cute Place
Overall, really delightful. The management just needs to sharpen-up a bit. I loved the small patio entry with table and chairs but I had to do some 'gardening' (removing lots of dead leaves) before my friends arrived. That's the entrance to the place so it really needed to be done. No dish towels of any sort in the kitchen and that was very frustrating.
The bed is super comfortable. I enjoyed myself aside from the frustrations. It felt like the little place was somewhat ignored or someone failed to do a walk-thru before I arrived.
I loved the location...so close to King St and lots of great eating places.

Hi Cleo, thank you for your feedback. I'm so sorry that you had to remove the leaves from the entry. That area does get a lot of leaves with the amount of trees there. Our maintenance man sweeps the porch and I will be speaking with him about this. Dish towels should have been provided and that should have been caught prior to your check-in. We do have a back stock of linens and towels in our office that is just steps away. We would have been happy to bring some over. I'm glad that you enjoyed the location despite the leaves at the entry and the dishcloth issue. Thank you for your review.
Perfect location if you want to be close to downtown. It is noisy with all the night life but we were expecting that. It's tucked away in a charming alley. It had everything we needed but there was no first aid kit. The bed was really comfortable but watch out for the bed frame! My husband gouged his toes a couple times and I had bruises all over my legs for walking into the sides. We aren't that clumsy, the bed is very large for the small room and the legs stick out. I feel so silly evening mentioning it but it was quite inconvenient. Overall a very charming place.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, Karissa! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our convenient location and overall had a great stay with us! We are sorry to hear that the city street noise bothered you during your stay. Unfortunately at times city streets can be noisy and we do our very best to lessen the effects from this, including providing a white noise machine in the unit. Additionally, we are sorry that you found the space difficult to navigate. The bedroom is actually quite large which is why we have a King size bed in this unit, so we were surprised to hear this feedback. We thank you for being a wonderful guest, and hope you consider staying with us again on your next trip to Charleston.
Smaller, minimalist apartment good for a couple. Bed and linens were fabulous...I ordered a bed covering that they use. Small kitchen with only basics. Bathroom on the small size. TV in living room not user friendly. No screens on windows and all painted shut.
A loud party going on next door for 2 nights, but manager called and they shut it down. Communication to manager was excellent!
Bottle of wine and chocolates complimentary.
Close to most everything we wanted to see. Small parking space provided. Good a/c and ceiling fans.
Good space for a short period of time.

Nice place, Excellent location
We had a nice stay at this location. It was a quick walk to King St., many restaurants and public transportation. That was very important to us.
Parking can be an issue if you have a larger car. They do warn you to consider renting an economy sized car, however we drove our Pathfinder there. The space assigned to the location is between two other spaced assigned to other locations. It is a very tight squeeze. There appears to be a space on the other side of the alley that at times we saw a car parked in. Fortunately we never we had to move our car with a car parked in that space. It would have been very difficult to do. It can be a little muddy when it rains – maybe some flat stones could be put down by the stairway? Also the bush could be trimmed back a bid to allow to more fully pull into the space. We always backed in.
We had a couple of minor issues during the stay and the management was quick to respond to remedy them both. They were very accommodating.
We found the kitchen well stocked and had pretty much everything we needed. The only thing we could have used was a larger pot to boil pasta. Internet worked fine. We never used a Roku before. It was adequate for us. Never use the foldout couch. The king sized bed upstairs was very comfortable. It was nice to retire to that after a day of walking around the city. The unit is fine for two people, maybe can fit a smaller child or two.

Filthy place (don’t trust the pictures!) & Irresponsible owners
-Irresponsible owners: Did not get a call/email with instructions on checking-in- - where to get the key, where to park, etc. till 50 mins till check-in time. Had to track down the owner by calling VRBO’s customer service.
- !!!FILTHY PLACE!!!- don’t trust the pictures: The floor- it was so dirty, our feet turned black with dirt sticking to it only after about 10 minutes of walking around the house. Went upstairs to use a restroom- no toilet paper was provided. The toilet paper holder was actually pulled out of the wall as it looked like. Thank God we had baby-wipes and found a little bit of paper towels downstairs. The bathroom’s floor was even dirtier with hair everywhere. The bedroom upstairs- there was champagne bottle cork and a bottle of water that someone didn’t finish on the floor to the right side of the bed. There were long and short dog-like hair on the bed and pillows. We went to take the shower- the towels were folded but looked dirty with brown and black spots on them. At night when we pulled out the sheets for the pull-out couch, there was only one pillow case- we ended up using the sham pillow case from upstairs. And THE WORST of all, the bedroom sheets were not clean and fresh! Not only they looked like someone already slept on them, there were white spots and dark oily spots all over the sheets, which was disgusting! So, thanks to that we just waited for another 1.5 hours till late night washing and drying sheets and towels from earlier. On top of that, the washer had good bit of sand it in, so we had to clean it first as well. While sitting around waiting for the sheets, decided to waste some time on-line. The wi-fi network and password provided on the property’s Wi-Fi section under the VRBO account did not work. We had to contact Daisy around midnight, but did not hear back till next morning. Next morning we woke up to make breakfast, and found dirty dishes in the dishwasher. So we had to wash the dishes before we were able to eat from them. We were charged a high cleaning fee aside from the rental cost for professional cleaning, which turned out to be a scam really . No cleaning was done at all.
We’ve done rentals from owners via the online portals about 10 times, and it is the worst experience we’ve ever had!
[ Have all the pictures and messages/emails saved to prove the above*].

Hi Tanya,
First off, I would like to apologize. I will say that during the time of your reservation we had two separate staffing issues (one in particular with the cleaning lady we employed at this time). However, that is no excuse. We provide the check-in document 30 days prior to the check-in date and make contact with our guests 48 hours prior to the check-in date. The fact that you did not receive the pre check-in document prior to the date of your check-in confuses me. We do warn our guests that the e-mail occasionally goes to the spam folder. We use a laundering service for all linens, and have never received a complaint since using them. I have taken the matter up with them. We would have been happy to bring you fresh linens. We have a back stock of clean sheets and towels in our office that is steps away. I apologize for the wi-fi network name and password confusion. The wi-fi network name and password is listed on the pre check-in document and also printed on the router that is in the living area. I understand that you sent a text at midnight about this. We stay in contact with our guests throughout their entire stay but do sometimes miss texts messages or calls that come in after midnight. Again, I am sorry for the cleanliness issue, what you have described is completely unacceptable. We appreciate your feedback and have taken all things mentioned into account.

Comfortable Stay with a Few Flaws
We enjoyed this place but it had a few flaws worth mentioning but none of them are major. The bed was comfy, the towels were nice and the air worked well. I really enjoyed having separate living room space apart from the bedroom. It’s an old property so there were some expected things like really steep stairs, etc. The light switches were also crazy and most switches we found did nothing. Lots of trial and error to find the lights but that’s not a big deal. The kitchen is not great if you plan to cook. There is no salt/pepper, no cooking spray or oil or anything to help you cook so you will need to bring everything you need outside of the cookware, plates, utensils which they had available. There’s a firehouse nearby so occasionally we awoke to sirens but again, not a big deal. We missed having regular broadcast TV as the Olympics were on and we struggled to watch it using the Roku system. But it was a good location, close to many places while at the same time being a bit tucked away off the street. It was clean when we arrived and the tiny patio was a sweet spot for morning coffee. Overall, a nice place in the heart of the city.

Thank you Amy for your review. We went ahead and stocked the kitchen with salt and pepper and a few other things. Our stay
Carpet in bedroom appeared not to have been vacuumed before our stay as it was dirty; not a stich of food in kitchen (e.g. salt and pepper, sugar, nothing); no knife in the kitchen to cut anything; soap dispenser in bathroom didn't work, used a bar; the apartment was very cold when we arrived at 4:30 pm and after some head scratching and my first call to Fallon, I determined thermostat wasn't working because it needed a new battery (at closer look the screen was flashing "Low Batt"). I phoned Fallon and she asked me to figure out what size battery it needed. I couldn't readily see where the battery was, so she asked me to take a photo of the actual thermostat and send to her. You'd have thought someone would have done a walk-through before our arrival to check on it's status, or at least I'd assume that. At this point, we left and went to my daughter's apartment... because at least it had heat.
Muriel B.
Response from VrboOwner on 6 Mar, 2020
Hi Muriel,
Thank you for your feedback. We did replace the thermostat during your stay and the heat then was working in normal condition. The downstairs can be a bit drafty which is why we provide a space heater for the downstairs. Some guests use it; some do not, it really just depends on the guests preference. The reason we asked for a picture was because neither of the property managers were downtown at that time and one of us was able to come back after hours and replace the battery. I do apologize that this put a damper on your experience. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Great place to stay
I loved this property. It is an excellent location. The condo is spacious enough and very clean. The parking was a little tight for a minivan but I made it work. If you plan on cooking in the kitchen you will need to grab cooking oil, salt, and pepper, but that would be the only negative I can think of. We definitely plan to stay there again

Great location, nice place
This rental is not perfect, but the excellent location, parking space, comfortable bed, and responsive property manager all make it worth the price and stay. It is much better suited for 2 people, given that the pull out couch is not comfortable and the couch itself is not the cleanest. Overall cleanliness was pretty good, but a tad dirty in places. The kitchen is stocked just enough, and really for 2 people, not 4. Was missing a few things, like sponges to wash dishes by hand, but overall was stocked well enough. The place has nice character, especially the high ceilings, nice hardwood floors and wooden beam ceilings, but the living room ceiling has a bit of water damage. Overall would definitely stay here again, but hopefully they invest in a new couch soon.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 Mar, 2020
Hi Jonathan, thank you for your review. We typically do not keep sponges in our rentals since they don't seem to stay very clean and need replaced frequently. We will take this into consideration. We do provide paper towels and dishcloths. Thank you for your feedback on the sofa. This is the first complaint we have received and will definitely start looking for a replacement sofa. The water mark on the ceiling appeared recently after Hurricane Matthew. Luckily, it is not an active leak. Our maintenance man will be repairing that small area of the ceiling. Again, thank you for your review. We hope to have you back in the future!

Great location
My wife and I booked this house for a long weekend and were very happy with the property. The location was great being so close to King street and lots of bars/ restaurants. Also, the unit itself was very clean and in good condition. The only minor drawback was that there was a lot of overgrown bushes at the entrance of the stairs that blocked them and you had to duck under to get in. I'd certainly book this property again.
