After booking this condo and paying for three nights — I was sent a email cancelling my third night.
I contacted the owner who said she had reserved the third night on a competing booking service to somebody else. I was refunded only the charges for the room, but not 1/3 the total cost.
It turns out VRBO doesn’t refund its fees, but I shouldn't have to pay the difference, since it wasn’t my mistake.
The owner never volunteered to cover my loss from their mistake!
So it ended up that the total cost of the room each day was far too expensive.
