The best property I have ever stayed at. The pictures just do not do it justice. Gary was also an incredible host and spent quite a bit of time to give us a tour of the property make sure we were comfortable when we checked in.

Gary, the host, is the most caring, thoughtful, trustworthy, responsive, and generous host you could ask for. He instantly replied to all our questions and requests, both before and during our stay, and he overdelivered in every category. I can't say enough about what a nice guy he is, and on top of that, the house and all its incredible amenities are spectacular! The photos don't even do it justice. Cannot recommend Gary and this house highly enough!

Amazing location with picture perfect views

This property was perfect for our large party. The location is extraordinarily beautiful. We enjoyed views of lovely sunsets and watched otters swimming and grooming themselves in the cove. The kitchen was very well stocked and the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. Definitely recommend!

The house is very well maintained, and the host is available to help with any questions or issues that might arise. We absolutely loved our stay, and give this property the highest recommendation possible! Gary, the property owner was just fantastic. Its a huge place, and he walked us through all the amenities and features, of where there are so many. We had our entire extended family stay at the home with us and it worked out perfectly. Space for lots of family and its so big, everyone can have privacy or a place to get away if they need. We can't say enough about how wonderful the stay was! Thank you Gary and VRBO!

The house and ground were nothing short of amazing!! Make sure to ask Gary about recommendations for a private chef, incredible hikes nearby and other things to do. Three better you describe your group, the easier it will be to create what might be the best VRBO start you will ever have.

The property was beautiful, and the views were outstanding! Very well stocked kitchen. Plenty of room for a big group. I think it would be helpful to clarify the bedrooms and bathrooms a little more clearly in the description. Also a few ammenities are not working or not yet completed. Overall a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend!!

Heaven on Earth

The location is superb, the house is right on a spectacular rocky point, there are views from most of the rooms in the house and lots of areas around the property - hot tubs, fire pits and paths to enjoy the natural beauty. The house is spacious and perfect for entertaining. We had 7 couples comfortably. We all enjoy cooking together and the restaurant quality kitchen was perfect for hanging out with a glass of wine while we visited with those of us who were cooking. Our host Gary was super helpful before we arrived and helped us set up a spa day with Leah Rowe and her crew from Cloud9 Mobile Spa. It was so relaxing to have your massage or facial with the sound of the surf as the background. One of the main reasons we were drawn to the location is its proximity to Point Lobos. Gary knew that we were planning a picnic at Point Lobos our first morning there and after his own morning walk, came by to let us know that the park was closed and to offer an alternate option, which worked out great. By the way, the grounds themselves are like you own private Point Lobos, so we didn't feel like we were missing out. Gary was the perfect host, available and responsive to our needs, yet not intrusive.

AMAZING STAY!

My fiance and I stayed at this property for a long weekend with several other couples prior to our wedding! Everything about our stay was PERFECT. The location convenient - it was easy to get to both Carmel and Big Sur. The pictures don't do the property justice. It is absolutely stunning. The views were unreal. It was the most serene place we've ever stayed. There was ample space for 8 couples to stay on the property with plenty of privacy. There were plenty of amenities to take advantage of (steam room, sauna, hot tubs, firepits, etc..) but we loved spending time with our friends just snacking in the kitchen and sitting in the living room taking in the gorgeous views. Gary was very communicative and helpful before, during and after our stay. He helped make sure we knew where everything was located when we arrived and clued us into tips and tricks about the house. He made every morning memorable with fresh coffee, fruit and out of this world donuts. He is so warm and welcoming, we now consider him a friend. We were looking for a great place to stay with our friends before our wedding and this place greatly exceeded expectations. I dare you find another place with such great atmosphere and such a kind host. I cannot wait to find an excuse to get everyone together again to stay at the property. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING OUR WEDDING WEEKEND SO SPECIAL!!!

So Beautiful and Beyond Our Expectation !

It is with the greatest pleasure I write this review for the exquisite property, know by locals, as the “Lodge at Seven Coves”. It is truly a breathtaking ocean front home that offers every amenity imaginable. I was looking for the perfect property for our 3-generational family to travel to attend a family wedding in Carmel. When I came across “The Lodge “, I could not believe all the exceptional qualities and historic background this property offered. It’s size, alone, offers wonderful space for a large group or family. The different gathering areas are beautiful and tastefully appointed. The commercial kitchen, coffee room and butlers pantry are perfectly stocked and a dream to work in and a great place to gather. The numerous suites are extremely spacious and provide such privacy with exceptional luxury My family and I enjoyed every aspect of this remarkable property....... the extraordinary library, the two beautiful spas, the swimming pool with cascading waterfalls, the oversized fire pit and the exercise room. But it was the stunning panoramic ocean views and the rugged cliffs, that took my breath away. Our stay could not have been more perfect. I have rented more than half-a-dozen homes from VRBO, and this home was by far one of our favorites. The quality of this home and it’s location is beyond comparison. But is was also our gracious host that made our stay so unique and special. His wealth of knowledge of the Big Sur Coast, Carmel and the surrounding areas was so extraordinary. He was so helpful with information about reservation, local activities and points of interest Gary, I can’t thank you enough for opening your beautiful home to my family. WE are frequent VRBO renters at various locations and I can simply tell you this is a one of a kind find! The home, the property, the views and the owner who met us and explained the property himself were beyond compare. We were a group of a. I dults in Carmel to play golf to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had 2 separate chefs recommended by the owner who created 2 perfect celebrations for us. After playing golf at the beautiful Pebble Beach we chose to abandon our cocktail plans there so that we could get back to the beautiful property and it's fire pit instead. I truly cannot rave more about this property and will undoubtedly return!
