The Other World is so relaxing, you won't ever want to leave. You'll first enter the private lush grounds through a security gate. Next you'll discover an open-air living area featuring native stone columns and archways as well as eclectic/global furnishings and artwork. The villa has two air-conditioned enclosed master suites, each with a bathroom, TV and french doors that open up to the views. A fully-equipped kitchen/bar area combined with a HIbachi table and large layout patio/deck. You will experience immaculate views as far as the eye can see makes for a perfect happy hour, (which is all day on St. John.) The villa also features a refreshing pool under roof... awesome for aches after a long day hiking or water activities on one of our many beautiful beaches. With a convenient location just 8 minutes from downtown Cruz Bay, this villa has everything for your St. John experience.

We just recently updated everything from bedding to pots and pans, to ensure you will enjoy the stay with us!

This Other World also features a large bonus room downstairs with a king bed, two sets of bunk beds, a couch, TV and bathroom. The lower level has 4 sliders opening to its own deck. Please note: an additional guest usage fee of $75.00 per night / per person will be imposed for each guest staying in the bunk room.

Family Getaway

Beautiful location!!! House was perfect for our family of 4. The open air design was so unique. Plenty of mornings out on the gorgeous deck. Kitchen was well appointed and the bedrooms were large and very comfortable.We had a wonderful time!

Another great stay!

We love the location of this house and the convenience to town and the best beaches. The decor is unique and warm. The owners and managers make things so simple. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great property. The booking listing and process via VRBO made for some miscommunication on total people and bedroom need… but it was quickly resolved. Great property that allows you to truly enjoy the warm climate. Would recommend.

Spacious and unique

The Other World is a very spacious and well appointed property. The neighborhood is safe with a nice paved road for ease of travel and walks. Check in was simple and all our questions were answered. Our family enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

Fabulous Bay View!

We had an amazing stay at this house! The highlight was definitely the fabulous porch overlooking the bay, where we spent most of our time relaxing, soaking in the views, and stargazing at night. It was truly serene and a perfect spot to unwind.The interior of the house was equally impressive. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The living room and kitchen were modern, well-stocked, and made it easy to feel at home. Everything was thoughtfully designed for convenience and comfort.Overall, we had a wonderful visit and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning views!

Lovely spot and n Maria Bluff

Once we were checked in, this house had a lovely view and worked well for our family. The home had a lovely deck and nice silverware and plates. Dishwasher and washer dryer worked well, nice showers and cool bedrooms. Only comment was we did not have the address or an idea of when to check in until about 45 minutes after check in time and were not shown the full property which we figured out later. Ok as we are veterans and have been to the island but a first timer may have been unnerved by this

Amazing week!

We had a fabulous week on St. John!! The pictures for this villa don't do it justice. The villa and the views of Great Cruz Bay were spectacular. The property manager, Chris, was extremely helpful even stopping by on a Sunday when we couldn't figure out the tv remote to watch the soccer finals. Additionally, Chris set up a fun charter boat trip with Captain Nate. The week couldn't have been any better and we look forward to returning in the future!

Safe, Clean & Gorgeous Property

Close enough to town for convenience of grocery stores, beach access, ferry and car rental but far enough away to feel extremely private and secluded. Kelly met us at the ferry dock to show us to the house and give us tour to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The open air living room and under roof pool made this home unique and airy. Our beds, bedding and pillows were super comfortable and we truly enjoyed the deck overlooking Great Cruz Bay. Kelly was available to us to answer questions, help with arranging a beautiful boat for a day out on the water & anything else we needed. We had a truly magical vacation staying at The Other World Villa and will absolutely be back soon.

Gorgeous Rental w Amazing Views

We stayed here in Feb 2024 - 2 Adult Couples and 2 teens. It was a great location, layout for everyone to have space and perfect public spaces to hang out. While we did encounter an issue with the dehumidifier not working for the kids rooms - the owners were quick to address and had a new one working and installed the next day. We also were a little disappointed with the construction next door - but we were gone most of the day exploring and having fun - so it wasn't too bad. Overall a beautiful place and we would definitely go back again. Note: because this is open air living... bring bug spray!

Wonderful Property

Great location minutes from town & Beach. The house was clean. Beds in both bedroom were very comfy. Didn’t spend a whole Lot of time in the house because we were out and about during the day, but when I did, I was on the patio, which was extremely comfortable, and that view! Amazing. Some construction going on at the house next-door. But nothing loud. It didn’t bother me at all. I was a little nervous about renting this property because it’s outdoor living and has no wall's in the living room and kitchen. I left the house with only 4 mosquito bites. I would definitely recommend this property. It was a great family trip.

The Other World Villa

Well appointed, good location, construction next door not mentioned in posting, bugs are a problem for those with any sensitivity, no screened in outside area which is where you want to spend time. Kitchen and living area are both outside without screens, only bedrooms are safe from bugs. Dishwasher marginal, we took to hand washing dishes, toaster needs to be replaced. One of the bedroom mini splits needs to be cleaned as it has mold on and in it. Otherwise a very convenient location and an interesting villa. Internet worked very well, we didn't use the TV and didn't sit in the living room much because of bugs. Good view, nice deck area.

Wonderful!

We had a great time during our first, but not last, trip to the island. The house has stunning views, and mornings and evenings were so peaceful (we were out enjoying the island during the day). The cool water of the pool was perfect after a hot day, and the open-air format of the house meant we got to enjoy some of the nature of the island too. We made some hermit crab friends on the deck, and very cheerful birds were our alarm clock every morning. The location is great - just far enough from town, but not far from a main road - so getting around the island was simple. Chris, the Property Manager, was a great help and guide throughout our trip. He arranged our boat rentals and even captained for us one day. If you have young kids, ask about the mermaid experience with Katie. You'll get some great pics!

The Other World Villa

This place is awesome for a family or 2 couples. I don't think most adults would be comfortable in the bunk room but it could work if you had 3 couples needing a room. The kitchen is nicely stocked with extras such as spices, coffee filters, and condiments. The beds are very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom to one of the master bedrooms is missing a window so the bathroom gets very warm. You'll need to keep the door shut at all times so that the bedroom stays cool with the room AC. The pool is nice but has a leak so we had to add water every other day. Communication with management was very average. He was slow to respond and when I sent him a text message he did not respond at all. Overall we would stay here again as it served us well.

Paradise Found

From the moment we walked thru the property with its magnificent view of Chocolate Hole, that extended from sunrise well past sunset with lights from across the bay lighting the hillside like fireflies and clouds so low we thought we could reach up and touch them , we thought this was a truly magical place. Upon entering the villa, we quickly noticed the attention to detail from every angle with signature robes, to totes for our using, a well stocked kitchen, ample soft white bath towels and the signature scents of the shower supplies ,luxury awaited. The architecture of every space had such a timeless Bali vibe, you can’t help but relax and escape here. The worst part of our entire stay was leaving. 8 minutes from the car ferry, 12 minutes or so from downtown restaurants and shopping this was just far enough to feel removed for privacy, yet close enough to enjoy all the conveniences of snorkeling and diving, shopping , and dining. Can’t wait to visit this villa again and again. We will back!

Fantastic house - property needs some maintenance

Beautiful property - absolutely loved relaxing in the outdoor living room and sun deck. Used just a bit of bug spray daily to ensure no issues. Reasons did not give 5 stars: 1) Major: Bathroom toilet leak (mentioned in previous reviews) - had to wear shoes in bathroom and shower to avoid the we rug/floor (and it was "used" toilet water - very stinky) 2) Upon arrival, kitchen and dishes needed cleaning - there was dried food on surfaces and dishes/silverware along with quite a few dead bugs on the surfaces. After cleaning ourselves, no further issue with bugs. 3) Minor: Multiple minor areas where repair needed such as broken ceiling fan and burnt out bulbs

Retirement Trip

The home was as advertised with spectacular views and fabulous outdoor/indoor living. The pool was perfect for post beach relaxation prior to dinner plans and the air conditioned bedrooms suites were perfect. It is a great base on on beautiful island.

Lovely Home

The home is in a fantastic location and we absolutely loved the indoor / outdoor layout. We were very appreciative that the manager, Kelly, got us Checked in earlier than the standard check in time. We’d rate it an extra star if not for: house pool was dirty the 4 out of the 5 days, the sonos speakers were broken, plumbing in one of the master bedroom stinks was clogged and had a sewage smell, and lastly the property owner made a damage claim that we are 100% positive was not a result of any of our family’s action (the claim was apparently a burn mark on the bathroom countertop from a curling iron that my wife and daughters did not use during the entire trip - our family completed a thorough review of the house prior to checkout and did not notice anything). Other than those items, we really enjoyed our stay and Kelly the manager was very helpful.

Chillax in Paradise

We had a perfect week at The Other World. The space is gorgeous and the views are even better. We LOVED the open air living space and spent much more time there chillaxing than we would have thought we would - - it literally competed for beach time in our minds. Everyone had their own private space, but we could also spend time together as a family. And the location on the island cannot be beat: lovely neighborhood, close to town, easy access to beaches and Coral Bay. The hosts were so friendly and professional. They met all our needs, putting us in touch with a no-hassle car rental option in St Thomas, meeting us at the car ferry, arranging for provisioning the villa so that we did not need to worry about a thing after a long travel day. Next time we hope to also spend a day on one of their sailboat charters exploring the islands by water. Can't wait for our next trip to St John and The Other World!!

Amazing property!

Absolutely beautiful home with spectacular views of Cruz Bay. Loved the open-concept of the living/dining/kitchen area. Our son enjoyed the covered pool after long days in the sun, we enjoyed the serene setting and lovely view from the deck. Overall a wonderful place to stay-even though we had to leave a day early due to tropical storms 😭 10/10 recommend for couples or families!

Amazing Home! Gorgeous views!

The pictures dont do this home justice, it was "from another world". It is everything from the description and more. Chris was amazing, he met us up at the ferry to guide us to the home. Gave us a detailed tour of the home so we felt really comfortable throughout our stay. We never really needed anything while we were there, but he was readily available to respond to any messages. We would absolutely recommend this place and we would love to stay here again.

Beautiful view

Overall our experience was great! Love the location, short driving distance to Cruz Bay, beautiful views and prompt response from the rental company when needed. The living areas of the home, including the kitchen, are open air which took a little bit getting used to. The bedrooms were nice and air conditioned. This experience was a nice addition to our many family memories spent on St. John!
