Tranquil Family Retreat

A perfect family destination or quiet get-away for one or more!!
Set on park-like grounds with room to run & play, while surrounded by vast native bush, you soon get the feeling of being miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still only a stones throw from the renowned Akaroa beach, cafes & shops and amazing restaurants.

If you're after a bit more of the Peninsula, hop in the car an take one of the many Tourist Drives around the area - visit Pigeon Bay, Hickory Bay, Okains Bay, Barrys Bay (for great cheese) or pop into some of the gorgeous local wineries all only minutes away.

This cute stone cottage has all the enjoyable necessities for a great break away.
Three comfy bedrooms with their own heaters on colder nights, a heat pump/air conditioner to keep everyone comfortable, large kitchen with dishwasher makes holidaying a breeze!
Enjoy the long summers on the veranda cooking on the BBQ and watching the native birds dart and chat in the surrounding bush.

Three comfortable bedrooms rooms provide the following layout;
Bedroom One: Queen Bed
Bedroom Two: King Bed
Bedroom Three: Single Bunks & a king single bed

Set on a mostly flat piece of section with driveway to the house makes this property relatively easily accessible for most.

Akaroa is 1.5 hours from Christchurch City, and has a regular mini-bus service operating between Christchurch City, and both the International and Domestic airports if you’re arriving from another city.

Extras:
Cleaning - $90 additional per stay
Linen - as we are a holiday home, you are able to bring your own linen (towels/sheets/pillowcases/hand towels etc). Alternatively you may hire this at $20 / person. Please advise at time of booking if you would like this option added.

Home away from home

From the moment we drove up the driveway until we stepped inside we felt relaxed. Surrounded by trees and with all the comforts of home we loved our stay will be back again.

Perfect little Cottage

We loved this little spot, hidden away from the main part of Akaroa but accessible enough to town. The Cottage was quite tidy, relatively modern and well equipped for our stay, great for kids and adults alike. Simone’s communication was fabulous and it made for a seamless stay. Would definitely recommend and look to book again. 👍🏼

What a beautiful spot!

The house was clean, modern and well equipped. The walk to Akaroa was easy and enjoyable, with several other walks to choose from as well. Children's Bay was a great place for a paddle. Thanks Simone I'd love to visit again one day.

What a wonderful experience we had staying here. The house was the perfect retreat for our holiday!

A beautiful, clean and tidy home away from home. We LOVED the location in amongst the beautiful trees with native birdsong along with the lovely green lawn for the kids to play on. The walk from there to Akaroa was so beautiful and a real highlight. The home had everything we needed and was beautifully presented. Such a special place. We would LOVE to come and stay again.

We are a family who love the seaside and the beauty Akaroa has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Our cottage has a uniqueness about it where it is safe to play and huge space to run around and play family games outdoors, as the native bird life fills the air - piwakawaka (fantail), Kereru (wood pigeon), tui, cows in the distance often heard mooing.....
This is serenity all wrapped into one amazing setting.

What makes this property unique

Removed from the hustle of town, it is quite and peaceful, yet only a short 10min stroll brings you into Akaroa town.
