83 New West Rd is a quirky and unique cottage in the popular seaside town of Port Lincoln. There are great views of Boston Bay from the kitchen, lounge, and spacious front balcony. The sunny aspect is cheerful and the home gets plenty of sunlight plus summertime breezes.
The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed plus ensuite and walk-in robe. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, vanity and toilet. The second bedroom also has a queen-sized bed plus a single sofa bed. A third bedroom has a cosy double bed. The separate lounge room has a double sofa bed.
Built in the 1940s, this home retains a lot of vintage charm. Lovers of retro will love the original details plus there are modern comforts. The original bathroom has a huge retro bath, perfect for a soak after a day at the beach. The second toilet is separate, located off the laundry area.
Yummy takeaway food and groceries are available from Possums, only a few minutes walk away. The property is a short drive from the front street and has elevated views over the town and out to the blue of Boston Bay. At night you can see the town lights and during the day the ocean views are endlessly soothing. The sunny front balcony is a great spot to soak up the sun and relax with the views. A sheltered patio area has a barbecue.
The yard is fully enclosed with high fencing. There is a sheltered back patio area and the laundry is able to be secured for pets at night.
The elevated position of the house at the very top of the New West Road hill means that both of the two drive-ways have a steep section. Just take it slow and it will be fine - I trundle my little sedan up and down no worries. We stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time. This place is affordable, spacious and has everything you need, it felt like home. So grateful to find such a lovely, pet-friendly place to use as home base for our adventures in this stunning part of the world. It also has a lovely view of Boston Bay. Recommended.
What a wonderful property. The perfect location to relax and enjoy the stunning views and all that Port Lincoln has to offer. Would definitely stay again.
Homey, neat, spacious, excellent facilities, nice view of bay-basically can't fault it. When coming to Pt Lincoln it would be my choice of accommodation.
stayed for the long weekend. very comfy, was very cold and wet but there were plenty of heaters to keep us warm. nice set up. No major issues. hosts were very quick to respond and help out when needed.
Quite like this house especially since you got rid of that horrible floor of rocks in the bathroom. We have a dog and its good that yard is secure. Will probably stay again.
The location and communication was great, very outdated and quirky,
could do with a revamp,
dodgy lamp in the bedroom we had to disconnect
however it gave us what we needed
Wow, if you love retro and the the fact you are in a time warp, welcome.
The main bedroom was roomy with onsuite and walk in robe.
The other bathroom has no powerr point, bath and separate shower, another toilet in laundry..... we really wanted no more, and our 2 schnauzers were very at home.
Convenience Store and take out food, literally 5 mins away.
We would stay again.
We stayed in June so it was cold. The house was spacious and heating was needed. While every room had a heater and electric blankets were available it was a cold house. However living areas had reverse cycle airconditioning which worked well. Kitchen facilities were very good and supplied with incidental cooking needs spices, condiments etc. It has a good view of the town from the good size balcony and a short walk to the local shop. It does need some maintenance done especially the sliding doors which were a constant nuisance as doors needed to be kept closed for heating purposes.
We found the property overpriced for the age --certainly needs an upgrade on all rooms -- the shower hot water in ensuite did not work -- the hot water tap came off -- seating is not for the aged --far too low -- steps for me were hard to manage as i have arthritis --

I'm sorry you weren't happy Margaret - the ensuite shower works fine, if you had any problems I would have been happy to assist you - you saw this when I attended 15 minutes after your message saying you had trouble with the televisions. Or when you needed extra assistance with understanding the booking details weeks before your booking. All our furniture is a standard height, as are the stairs which are detailed in our listing. Yes, our property is an older, vintage-style home, all very clearly explained in our listing and photos. We hope you and your beautiful dog still had a great time in Lincoln.
