Beautifully restored home in Wilmington Historic District with pool

Enjoy the charm of this historic cottage home. Located among the many attractions of downtown and within an easy drive to the beaches, this historic yet modern home makes for the perfect spot to enjoy everything Wilmington has to offer. And if you just want to escape and relax, you have private access to the beautiful pool oasis right outside your back door. (The pool is not heated and generally too cold to be in from late September through mid-May, but the pool remains open and the pool area can be enjoyed year round.)

The historic but completely renovated home includes a comfortable living room, a dining room that seats eight, a well-equipped kitchen, and a large back deck. The two bedrooms each have their own en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. Additional sleeping is available on the fold-out sofa in the living room. The front porch, deck, courtyard, and private pool areas offer great outdoor space for enjoying coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, as well as a great place to soak up the sun or lounge in the shade!

All of historic downtown Wilmington is an easy walk from the house. There is off-street parking for two vehicles. All linens and towels are provided, including pool and beach towels.

This home is not only in a prime location to enjoy Wilmington, but has everything you need to make for a relaxing getaway!

Because of the outdoor space, guests often want to invite others over to join them. Small gatherings are permitted, but we ask that you inform us first if anyone not staying at the house is coming over. The house is in a residential neighborhood and we ask that our guests be courteous of our neighbors. Therefore, we don’t allow groups of more than 12 and ask hosts to monitor noise levels, particularly after 9:00pm.

Please note that we are no longer able to accommodate pets in our home.

We live right next door to the property, so if you have any needs or questions while you are staying, we are very easy to reach.

Perfection in all aspects: cleanliness, kitchen equipment, location, style and comfort; all exceeded our expectations. All of us loved this house and are planning to return this summer to enjoy the amazing backyard pool. Highly recommend this house because the host has thought of everything!!

Perfect in every way

Chris and Matt were unbelievable hosts. This downtown oasis is designed to perfection and is full of character. The house and amenities were in great condition and remarkably clean, and it was located within walking distance to just about anything you need in downtown Wilmington. The communication and flexibility of the hosts was also unmatched. We will definitely be returning for a stay in the future — and would be permanent guests if we were able!

Long Weekend

The house is beautiful. The pool and outdoor areas were so enjoyable. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, everything you would need is here. Perfect location within 15 minute walk to everything! Hosts were amazing. Would definitely stay here again! If you’re thinking about booking this place just do it, you won’t regret it.

Best & most comfortable in stay in Wilmington!

Our stay was exceptional. The house, rooms, family room were the best we could have imagined. The furniture was very comfortable, great quality and a perfect match throughout the house. The bedrooms & bath were very clean, well lit and all the comforts of home. The pool and the pool area were amazing, clean, landscaped and so comfortable. Best stay ever!

Love it here!

We booked this vacation home fornour wedding weekend. We had the best time and the house was so beautiful. It looked beauiful in the pictures but it was even better than expected. The location is amazing. The backyard is so relaxing, as soon as I got there I couldnt wait to just relax and enjoy it. I can't wait to stay again soon!

Love our Wilmington weekends

My husband and I come here every year for his birthday and we love this house!!!! It's become our home away from home while here. Fantastic location, wonderfully decorated. The kitchen is amazing---everything you could possibly want. Although it rained the entire weekend this year, we look forward to coming back next year when we can enjoy the outdoor space and pool area.

Wonderful Home

The property is ideal, the home is perfect for a family or in our case two couples. Matt is a great host who left no detail unattended. The pool area is an oasis, it was a struggle each day to leave the wonderful pool area and explore the town. Highly recommend, it will be our go to spot every time we go to Wilmington.

Historic Charmer

We loved "the little yellow house"! From the private backyard paradise with small hidden alcoves, to the beautifully appointed decor, and the upscale kitchen, we could not have enjoyed it more. The city had so many wonderful things to see and do but coming "home" each day to a neighborhood full of historic homes was enchanting! Chris and Matt could not have been better hosts. They were so kind and helpful!

I want this home at my home

Matt and Chris’s cottage is beautiful and provided a perfect home away from home for me, my husband, college-age daughter during our short stay in Wilmington. We so appreciated being able to stay in a stunningly decorated, clean and conveniently located property that is dog-friendly and allowed us to entertain relatives who were staying in nearby Wrightsville Beach. (The property’s furnished swimming pool space is a luxurious bonus room.) I have land enough for a backyard bungalow where I live. If I ever create one, I’d model it after this historic, thoughtfully renovated home.

Wilmington Haven

This property is a resort like retreat in the middle of a beautiful historic city. The historic house with ten foot ceilings and some original windows is beautifully refurbished and spotless with all the amenities to make you comfortable. The backyard is fabulous. The hosts are wonderful and get back to you instantaneously when you have a question. Walking distance to the River Walk and many great restaurants. It was a fun relaxing work/vacation. Thanks for being wonderful hosts. We will return!

Wilmington Historic District’s Finest for Family Gathering

We chose this beautiful property for celebrating our daughter’s graduation from UNCW. We were taken aback from the moment we walked in the front door. Decorated with just the right touches of era elegance, comfort and coastal living. The space was so inviting. The extra high ceilings and floor plan created a volume that made it feel 2x its square footage. The dining and great rooms were very accommodating and the kitchen was so well laid out and properly equipped that we felt we had entered into a chef’s dream. Then…..we visited the outdoor living area, it was like entering into another world. A full size cabana, multiple loungers and shaded seating all around. The artificial turf and water feature really set it off as a level above extraordinary. Never a concern about parking with ample street side and space for two in the driveway. To top it off the property is a 10 minute walk to favorite eateries and entertainment downtown. Definitely a place to which we plan to return!

After about 30 minutes in Matt & Chris’ home, my husband said “I think this is the nicest rental we’ve ever stayed in!” I totally agreed. Pictures don’t do this beautiful home. It was beautifully restored, so tastefully decorated but warm and comfortable, and so thoughtfully stocked. The owners clearly put a lot of care into anticipating their guests needs and fulfilling them before the guests even asked. First class!

This is my favorite place to stay on the East Coast. The house has historic charm mixed with modern appliances and fixtures. The elegant decorations are the perfect touch to make it feel coastal but not “beachy.” The backyard/pool/cabana is the perfect hidden oasis for daytime fun and evening relaxation. The hosts are amazing and super responsive. 10/10 would recommend!

Another great stay in Wilmington. We found this beautiful house a couple years ago and it seems to never disappoint. The house is so well appointed, comfortable and has all the amenities needed for a great weekend. Add a great resort style pool setting and it’s the perfect runaway location. Another great stay!
