Lovely place for weekend/vacation getaway!

Great place, beautiful log house with everything you need for your stay , lovely and cozy atmosphere. Relatively short drive distance to many attractions like skiing , hiking , fishing to name a few. Fantastic place for weekend getaway all seasons of the year. Would love to be back there at some point this summer !

Lots of things to do not too far (<1 hour away) - lake placid, lots of ski areas, Olympic ski jumping/bobsled, etc.

Cozy cabin

This cabin was fantastic after a day I Placid skating on Mirror lake. It’s extremely private, very comfortable, and clean. It’s a bit far from main attractions like lake placid but worth the drive.

Beautiful log cabin

My family and I came in for the Ironman and we had such an amazing stay at the log cabin. Super clean and had everything we needed. Both Bruce and the property manager were great. Highly recommend and would come back or sure!

Peaceful getaway

We absolutely loved this log cabin in the woods. Waking up to the view of the flowers on the front porch was so peaceful. We watched the stars at night. It was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again!

Beautiful property, perfect for 5-6 people

This was a gorgeous cabin and property. I want to go back in the summer to explore the land without a foot of snow! The house was perfect for 6 adults, although any more than 6 may be a tight squeeze. The owner was very friendly and fast to communicate; overall excellent vacation and house!

Log cabin in the woods

Secluded log cabin in the woods that was very relaxing and peaceful. Perfect size for 8. Traveled to nearby attractions in the Adirondacks during the day and sat by a campfire at night. Enjoyed visiting Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain. Host was very responsive and accomodating. Perfect long weekend getaway.

Beautiful house, great location, excellent host

Bruce was an excellent host. His house had everything that we needed to accommodate our needs. The location was great, we enjoyed the snow on the property. We loved the house, and its fireplace. Our kids could watch some old VHS movies and also enjoy the snow. We had a wonderful time!

Great winter getaway

The log home was the perfect size for our family of four, as we got to stay in the master bedroom upstairs and our kids (5 and 7) were happy in the first floor bedroom with two futons. We were in a great location to easily get to Saranac Lake, Plattsburgh and Lake Placid. The house was in a beautiful private setting where we could really enjoy a nice, quiet weekend by the fire. Communication with Bruce was easy and fast.

Weekend in Upstate NY

Really enjoyed the home. The pictures didn't do it justice. It is nicely isolated with nearby homes too far away to be seen through the trees. The kids loved running around in the lawn and picking up apples from the many feral apple trees lining the property. The BBQ and fire-pit were nice additions that were much enjoyed. FYI - I wasn't aware before arriving that the home is near a small private airstrip. You can't really see it from the house and we didn't hear any planes, but it confused us for a minute when I got the arrival instructions. I think one of the photos showing a view of rolling hills in upstate NY was taken from down the street. You can't see anything but trees from the house itself - we enjoyed the privacy.

Family time

The place was in a nice quiet location which we loved. There were some broken things and some missing things that were stated in listing. Only two burners On stove worked. Half the toaster worked. The coffee table is about to fall apart. The freezer leaked a lot into the fridge which got a lot of our food wet. The listing said there were six kitchen chairs but there were only four. We ended up eating all over the place which was fine. It was a perfect place for what we needed which was quiet family time and hikes we could get to easily. If aforementioned stuff was all working it would have been perfect.

Peace and Privacy in a Sweet Location

This log home in the Adirondacks was terrific. It sits in a secluded, private, wooded setting, just off the road, but invisible to drivers and without any road noise. The house was clean and the kitchen had all amenities needed for cooking. The bathrooms and bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Bruce was really good at communication, and check in was very easy. The home looks just like the pictures. The front porch was sunny and cheerful in the morning and cool and comfortable in the shade at the end of our July days. This home was a great starting point for my husband and I to bicycle through Lake Placid and the surrounding region. The roads are great for cycling, most having excellent shoulders. Many side roads have little traffic, and drivers are overall polite. For those not inclined to pedal, many beautiful lakes and charming towns are an easy drive. We ended our cycling days with a cold beer on the porch and only the sounds of crickets chirping.

AMAZING Adirondack Experience

My family and I stayed at Bruce and Kelly's beautiful log cabin recently and couldn't be happier. The property is amazing; it's not far from Silver Lake, Whiteface, and Ausable, but it felt isolated and tucked away. The views from the cabin are all of the woods, flora, and fauna, and the landscaping is lovely and rustic, exactly what you expect to see around a true Adirondack log cabin. There are walking trails all around the property to explore with incredible views, and the home itself was clean, well-maintained, and well-equipped. Every day we sat on the porch in the Adirondack chairs, and every evening we sat around the fire pit in the 6 camp chairs provided. We were a short drive away from kayaking, fishing, and shopping and only 45 minutes outside of Lake Placid. Bruce made the entire check-in/check-out process easy and stress-free and was very accessible from the time we booked the cabin right up until the day before we checked in. While we wee there, we also briefly met the caretaker when he was mowing the property, and he was kind enough to drop off fresh firewood as well. We became very attached to this place very quickly and made some beautiful memories as a family that will last a lifetime. I'm so glad we found this place and can't wait to go back in different seasons!

It’s a very nice property. There were 6 of us and we’ve stayed very comfortably.

The house is very cozy and well equipped. It’s also very warm. We’ve been very comfortable in there. It’s about 30 min. drive to the Whiteface. Wasn’t a big deal for us, but if you are not an early riser, you should consider it. Especially if your kid(s) are in the ski school ;) There is a little convenience shop within 4 min. drive, where you can buy basic stuff. The real supermarket is about 30 min. drive. Was a little inconvenient for us. We’ve only managed to go there once. Same for the liquor store, unless you are ok with beer only. The Wi-fi is 1GB a month, not for streaming. Ive used my phone, kids have had a wi-fi detox :) I knew it in advance and brought board games with us. There is also a big collection of DVDs in the house, which we’ve used almost every day. Was ok for my family, but I know it can be a problem for others. In general, if you would like to have a very comfortable quiet cabin style vacation far from everything this place is for you. If you need some excitement/ restaurants and shopping you should stay closer to Lake Placid.

“Absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. It felt homey from the start. Not only was it fully equipped (except for sheets and towels), but it was a gorgeous set up. We used the fire pit (s'mores!) and gazed at the star-filled sky, and visited Lake Placid (35 min drive). The cabin was within a reasonable distance from main attractions. The secludedness of the cabin is great! I wish I could have stayed longer! Will definitely consider renting the cabin again for future getaways. ”

“Loved Bruce's log home from the moment I walked in. The most important thing to note is that his home is very clean (this isn't always a given on rental websites), and very well kept. The property feels secluded enough and surrounded by trees, and there were even a few rabbits and birds that came to visit the yard.

The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook if needed. Everything is available to make you feel at home. The area is also close to a few interesting places. Lake Placid wasn't too far, and has a nice small town feel as well as scenic views. By Whiteface Mountain there's the Veteran's Memorial Road, which takes you up to the summit of the mountain that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. I wish I would've stayed more days, great experience.”
