Something is said about returning guests. This was there third time renting our Mountain Home. I know this family will be back again. Once you find an awesome rental with so much to do in the area you would be back too. Thank you for your five star review. Your host John & Maria
Great place to stay while visiting, hiking or just see the sites. Clean, quiet, and nice views. The cabin is well stocked and comfortable beds. We did some hiking and site seeing and came back to a quiet relaxing place. The host was great. He gave us a lot of information about the area. We wish we could have stayed longer.

1:This is the first time I never received a text or call from the host to see how my stay was going2: Still waiting to get my security deposit back from the owner. It has been two weeks now.3: At 5:00am, we were woken up by 2 very loud dogs behind us that would bark for 3 straight hours everyday of our 4 day stay. Yes they are full time residents. We also take pictures upon our arrival and departure to make sure everything is the way it was when we arrived.

Dear Michael,
We are sorry that pets within the beautifully forested Ausable Acres where the Mountain Home is located on a full acre, bothered you. As you may recall, I sent a welcome email prior to the day of your arrival with my contact information, and in addition, left a card and gift on the kitchen table welcoming you and encouraging you to contact us with any concerns. If you had had any concerns during your stay, it would have been responsible of you to contact me immediately so that I could have solved your problem. It is of utmost importance to me that guests enjoy their stay at our Mountain Home. Pets barking in the neighborhood is not a reflection of the care of every detail we put into our home for our guests comfort.
I do see that you were refunded your security deposit from VRBO which is VRBO's refund, not mine to make.
And we would certainly hope that guests leave our home in the beautiful new condition that it is.
This is a 5-Star Rental Home~. your review is quite unusual.
Your host, John
The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable! Lots of pillows and warm blankets for the bedroom for the colder nights (we’re from Florida so 50 is cold for us), we didn’t need to turn up the heat too far for good sleeping nor for being up and about the house. Surrounded by natural forest and neighbors that are far enough away that it feels private and is very peaceful.
There’s a porch that wraps around the half of the house that faces woods and the fire pit/bbq area, so during the day you’ll catch beautiful sunlight through the trees and some chipmunks that appear at times. At night, it’s very dark unless the moon is out so you’ll be greeted with the wonderful sounds of crickets and such while the glow from the inside lights gives you a different view of the woods.
When you go up the steps to get onto the porch, there’s a latched gate so that any bigger forest residents can’t get onto the porch; however while we were there we never even saw anything bigger than the chipmunk. Still, the gate provides nice peace of mind.
I highly recommend John’s house for your vacation stay! There’s a grocery store, a Family Dollar, and some other businesses not too far away for your needs. I found that there are a very limited number of places here and there in the area that only want cash, so it’s a good idea to plan accordingly. (I know, weird in the 21st century to take only cash.)
The mountains are calling!

Thank you David for your beautiful response of your stay. Early this year when I was building in the winter the temperatures went down below -22 degrees. Enjoy your weather in Florida. Your Host John
