About Fountain of Youth

Step inside from the deck, complete with chairs and loungers to enjoy the beachfront view, and you’ll immediately feel at home in this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom escape. Warm wood tones draw you through the open floor plan, living room to the kitchen, where you can whip up a delicious breakfast before starting the day’s activities. You and seven friends or family members can enjoy staying in the Fountain of Youth, with two queen beds and 2 couch sleepers serving as comfortable spots to rest after a long day at the beach. 

Inside, an open layout awash in calming colors and beachy themes contains a spectacular master suite with a queen bed and a private full bath. This home also has the benefit of being pet-friendly, so even your furry and four-legged family members can come along on the tropical vacation of a lifetime

Owned by Becky Harris, Fountain of Youth is handily located close to several other Harris Properties vacation rentals, including Catalina and Bellingrath. If you’re traveling with a larger party of family or friends, reserving these vacation rentals in addition to Fountain of Youth will give you and your guests the option of staying close to one another without sacrificing space, privacy, or comfort in order to be together.

Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!

We had a great time here! Loved the location on the beach. House was clean comfortable. Didn’t realize the front door was located in the front bedroom and there was a noticeable draft the few days that were windy and cold. The front bedroom door didn’t shut correctly. This was not an issue for us as there were only two of us, but if privacy is needed it may be. Overall the place was great!

Fantastic location

We had a great stay at the Fountain of Youth. The only downside was the damage to nearby houses, and all the storm debris around the beach. Harris were very responsive

What a wonderful place to vacation in. Million dollar views of the Gulf and white sand beaches. The home was perfect! Walk off the deck onto the beach, walk a few feet more and your in the Gulf. Home is bright, clean and airy. Amazing home to stay!

Memorial Day on Ft. Morgan

Ou stay was fabulous. We didn’t cook much, but the kitchen seemed well stocked. We did not have any issues to report, but communication with the management company was easy. The star of the stay was the location and the beach!

Overall a great time. The views are wonderful . Pet friendly. Interior could use some updating. Paneling coming apart, stained bedroom ceiling, sofa & loveseat, pillows dirty.

Fort Morgan is the last of the quaint beach’s that hasn’t become commercial and loves dogs. I wish that wouldn’t change. Fountain of Youth is a perfect size for a small family. Harris Vacation Rentals takes care of any needs that arise. Their maintenance person Reed was extremely helpful and gave Harris Vacation Rentals excellent representation. Cute Dog Friendly Beach House

The house is right on the beach. This and the fact that it is a dog friendly rental and the beach is dog friendly made it a great place for my family. The house was clean. Nice appliances and showers. The house could use some updating with blinds and minor cosmetics. I would recommend this rental. Things to remember though: Don’t plan on using the sleeper sofa. (Very uncomfortable). Bring everything needed for cooking (salt, pepper, coffee, filters, dish cloths, pot holders, etc), as it does not have any extras in the cabinets. It is well stocked with dishes and cookware. Tacky Jacks is close down the road (about 5 miles) and a cute ice cream shop is there at the marina as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fountain of Youth. I had read some reviews that said the house smelled like pet urine, it smelled fresh and clean when we arrived. It was a much needed getaway and the weather was great. The only issues we noticed with the house was the toaster didn't work, the refrigerator did not cool and the ice maker hardly made any ice during the time we were there. The back door has quite a bit of rust on it but being on the beach that is expected. There are some issues with the plugs in the house, the electrical housing in the outlets could stand to be replaced as anything we plugged in such as phone chargers would fall out. Again those are just small things but over all we had a great time and will consider booking again.

House NOT Clean, Smells Like Urine

This beach house was right on the sand, but there was one BIG problem. It smelled like urine. Granted, it is a dog-friendly cottage (and that's why we rented it). But this cottage smelled so badly of urine we purchased cleaning supplies and mopped and cleaned the countertops / tables, lit candles, etc. (it still smelled bad!). Even our clothes, blankets we brought and suitcases/tote bags smelled AFTER we left. The management company offered to come and spray air freshener. We did that ourselves (it didn't help). Owners should know this place needs TLC and major cleaning! I didn't even invite local family members over b/c I didn't want to subject them to the smell... I would never rent it again. VERY DISAPPOINTED (and I never write bad reviews!!!)....

Overpriced For NO reason!!

I don't usually mind paying a pretty penny if it's worth it. The description says there's a private drive however there's not! & No numbers on the house, so when I pulled up at night it was sketchy with about 6 cars in the driveway for the neighboring house (but looked like this house was occupied so I had to squeeze in). I just had to take a chance and try the door code, which worked. On the second day I drove 30 minutes away for groceries for dinner & breakfast only to find out the stove was broken & I wasted money on groceries & had to drive far away again just to try to find something to eat. On top of that there was a loud high pitch noise coming from the toilet. The view is the only good thing about this place, which you can get somewhere else cheaper with a working stove I'm positive. I've paid half of this for mountain houses with gorgeous views and hot tubs. Beach houses as well. This place is a rip off.

Location was perfect but

On the second day I went to wash towels And the tub of the washing machine was tilted . I washed the load and it banged and made lots of noise . I sent the property manager a video. They said they were sending someone to check it out . Honestly don’t know if they even came . She said they did and the foot peg on the washer was adjusted . Well … it did not, of course, fix the problem. Three more days it went on and I sent more video of the washer banging and making all kinds of noises . Then the day before we left they brought a new washer . I asked for a pot holder and a standard broom but never got one . The mattress on the pullout couch in the living room was nothing but springs. My son took the pillows from the couch and placed on top of it to have somewhat of a decent nights sleep (6 nights) we loved the location but the home definitely needs improvements.

Right on the beach, natural gas platform views

Good things: House is away from the bustle of town, quiet and right on the beach. No crowds! Easy check in and parking. House was clean, refrigerator was clean. The deck is spacious, and having extra bed linens was helpful! The property manager checks in occasionally which is nice if you need anything (although responding is different). The wash station for sandy feet is great! Very much appreciate the washer and dryer. Nice size kitchen table. Less than Ideal: house layout is a bit awkward. Entry door (in the back) opens directly into the the bedroom. Very few hooks for hanging anything throughout the house. Hook broken in the bathroom. Electrical outlets loose and don’t hold plus well. Drain stop missing in second bath - toothpaste cap fell down it we reported this and manager did not come to fix this. It is very close to the house next door and it has a musty smell which improves with opening the windows. They only provide 1 roll of toilet paper per toilet (2), which feels really stingy! The bath towels appeared dirty, so I washed them prior to use. Something is funny with the plumbing because one of the pipes in the second bath make a very high pitched squealing noise that didn’t stop… very annoying. Requested service but property manger did not respond. Deal Breakers: Older apartment size electric stove is difficult and frustrating to use, and the house does not have a grill which is totally ridiculous at this price point for a rental!! There are several natural gas stations out in the distance in the gulf, and it really kills the aesthetic.
