About this property

Comfortable 1 Bedroom Cottage set in rural setting 10 mins from New Plymouth.

Comfortable holiday home is set with a small wooded garden area in a rural setting in the grounds of the owners home. Off road private parking only a 5 minute drive to the beach, less than 8 minutes drive to Oakura and 12 minutes to the center of New Plymouth. The cottage is bright & comfortably furnished with the bonus of a conservatory seating area for cooler days. There is an open plan living area with a modern kitchenette that has a fridge, bench top oven, slow cooker, electric frying pan,mini counter top oven,slow cooker and microwave to prepare meals and snacks. BBQ facilities are also available for guests on request.
Comfortable Queens size bed in the bedroom with a built in wardrobe and sofa bed in the lounge area offers a separate sleeping areas or space for a 3rd guest. A heat pump offers heating and cooling in the unit and a new 40'' TV provides wireless internet with Netflix and You tube facilities for entertainment during your stay. (Rural internet connection which can be slow & interrupted)

A cleaning fee at $35 is charged to cover covid cleaning protocol.
We do ask that you leave the property as you found it, by removing all rubbish, wash up any kitchen items used prior to departure.
If you wish to bring your own linen and towels please mention in your booking request and I will remove the added fee.

3rd adult/teen guest (Over 12 yrs of Age) fee may apply with
Special Events in New Plymouth ie Womad and Concert weekends plus Public holiday supplements may be applicable for long holiday weekend ie Monarch’s Birthday & Labour weekend

Great quiet cottage

We spent a week at the cottage. It's outside of town about 10 or 15 minutes. Lovely rural road but close enough to pop into New Plymouth quickly. Very comfortable and clean, good wi-fi, and even Netflix on the TV. I really loved the sunroom and sat out there every morning. A very relaxing week for us.

A home away from home. Clean, comfortable and true to online description and photos. Quiet, cozy and peaceful surrounded by greenery ensuring privacy.Lorraine and Glynn are excellent hosts demonstrating warm welcoming care through all communications and upon arrival. They were super considerate about communicating location, directions and key availability if for evening arrival. Ample off-road parking and generous consideration for our wee whānau and two vehicles.We were there for seven days and the kāinga was a sanctuary with ample cooking facilities, filtered water and kind gestures of tea, coffee, milo condiments and milk in the fridge. Highly recommended hosts and lovely accommodation. Definitely a kāinga we will book again upon returning to Taranaki. He mihi nui, He mihi mahana.

Lovely tranquil location with short drive to the city. Cottage had everything you would need, except for a washing machine, but with a laundrymart just five minutes drive away it wasn't a problem. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.😊

Perfect out of town quiet location

We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous cottage. Only 5-10 mins out of town made this a lovely spot for a getaway! The property was warm, and had a well equipped kitchen for cooking needs. The host was easy and efficient to be in contact with and provided lots of brochures for activities to do. I highly recommend this property and host.

A wonderful 3 night stay, and was a perfect base to explore New Plymouth from - with the mix of peaceful countryside, whilst being close to the city. Lorraine went out of her way to accommodate us by putting up an extra single bed in the lounge. Thanks for a great stay!
