About this property
Linville Land Harbor Resort Home, Linville NC, Mountain Getaway, Great Lake View
Linville NC Mountain House for Rent, Beautiful Mountain Home in Linville Land Harbor resort community overlooking lake (beautiful lake views from home interior and 2 decks) and a few steps (5 minutes) away from Linville River (great stocked trout fishing in river and lake). Strictly NO PETS. They will be reported and you will have to leave. NO PARTIES (the Sheriff will be called). Located in Linville Land Harbor Resort (about 25 minutes south of Boone, 10 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway & Grandfather Mountain). 3 Bedrooms plus sleeping loft (like a 4th BR), Master BR on main floor has queen bed, 2nd BR on 2nd floor has double bed, Sleeping loft on 2nd floor (2 twin beds - like a 4th bedroom but no door), 3rd BR is private room (bunkroom) on the deck - with a separate entrance (comfortable double bed and twin bunk above which is probably best for a child, this room is separate from the main home. It is on the deck, about 10 feet out the back door. The home sleeps a total of 8 comfortably, (2 of the bedrooms have closets, the bunk room and sleeping loft do not), 2 full baths, fully furnished kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, 2 coffee makers, toaster oven), laundry room (washer and dryer), 2 decks, propane gas grill, wood burning stove (fire wood furnished). The home has electric baseboard heat controlled by thermostats (including bunkroom on deck). Dishwasher, 4 flat screen TVs with cable, 2 Ruku streaming devices with guest mode, free WiFi. Max stay is 28 nights. Recent upgrades include granite countertops and matching backsplash, new couch, new lighting, and more!
**There is No Air Conditioning, but usually you don't need it in the mountains (cool nights and mild summers). Towels and linens (sheets) provided. All you need to bring is food if you want to cook. Upstairs ceiling slopes down so the ceilings are quite low on one side of each of the upstairs rooms (head hitting hazard).
15 minutes to beautiful Linville Falls. About 20 minutes to Sugar Mountain snow skiing and close to Beech and other NC ski areas. Resort amenities include: trout and bass fishing, beautiful 18 hole golf course, free swimming in heated pool, game room, lake kayaking (two kayaks and a stand up paddle board are provided and the resort has paddle boats), biking (bring your own), tennis, hiking trails, playgrounds, horse shoes, soccer, etc. (some activities are seasonal and some have a fee).
NO PETS! (they WILL be reported and you will have to leave). No smoking or vaping. No illegal substances. No parties (the Sheriff WILL be called). Google "Linville Land Harbor" for more information about the resort and amenities. All paved roads to the home (4 wheel drive is usually NOT needed). 24/7 resort police. The community of Pineola, one mile away, has several "hidden gem" restaurants (Mexican, BBQ, Seafood, Italian). Newland, 10 minutes away has more. The lake view from the deck and home is hard to beat (some call it a million dollar view). High speed wifi suitable for remote learning/work, zoom, streaming, etc. Note: resort heated outdoor pool (and some other resort amenities) open in summer only.
****VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: after you submit your reservation request, please log back into VRBO and check your messages inbox for an important message and reply. We can't make a decision on your reservation request until you reply to this initial message.****
Release of liability: we go to great lengths to ensure your stay is enjoyable and safe. Guests are responsible to conduct safety checks of recreational equipment such as kayaks and paddle boards before use, and use is at own risk. The home contains stairs and low ceilings on the second level (head hitting hazard). The home is in a natural setting with a steep hill behind the home (and a lake down the hill). One example: bears, while rare, have occasionally been sighted in the resort. When guests book their stay, they and all group members agree to waive all liability in case of personal injury or accident. Owner is not liable for accidents or injury.

About the host
Hosted by mark hubbard
I've been coming to Linville Land Harbor since I was a teenager and my parents built the home here. I grew up fishing here in the summers. Kim and I have been coming since we got married 32 years ago. We and our 3 kids have enjoyed fishing, swimming, walking/hiking the local trails, waterfalls, biking, kayaking, and seeing the sights of the local area (Linville, Linville Falls, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, Newland, Boone, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the rest of the NC Mountains). After 27 years of traveling the country and the world as an Air Force Officer, I'm very happy that we've settled in NC!
Why they chose this property
The beauty, the cool weather in the summer, skiing in the winter, waterfalls in the summer, great biking, fishing, golf, swimming, tennis, kayaking, basketball, etc. We were blessed to inherit the home from my parents. The view from our deck is hard to beat. I'm relaxed as soon as I see the view of the lake from the home. In the summer there are a lot of activities at the resort, or you can just relax in the home. It's nice and quiet. My Mom named it "Tranquility."
What makes this property unique
Beautiful lake views and walk along the Linville River and lake. Lots more to discover for yourself. The Linville River is a 5 minute walk from the house (great fishing). Linville Falls, one of the prettiest waterfalls in the east is about 20 minutes away. Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 10-15 minutes away. Newland is 10 minutes away with local shopping and restaurants. Boone is 25 minutes. The little community of Crossnore, one mile away has some hidden gem restaurants. The resort has a heated pool (free to guests), 18 hole golf course (be sure to play the back 9 for fantastic scenery), tennis, hiking trails, paddle boats, recreation room, bean bag toss, horseshoes, lake/beach, playground, picnic areas, basketball, volleyball, community activities, and more. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is 15 minutes away. Free wifi in the home and the den and each bedroom has a flat screen TV with cable. There are board games, some DVD movies (and DVD player), and a few books in the home.
