River Cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains (Land Harbor)
Nanny's river cabin is located in the community of Linville Land Harbor. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 bathrooms (one is a basement bathroom). The two main floor bedrooms each have a queen bed and there is a large loft with two twin beds and a queen bed. The living room has a cozy cabin feel. There are televisions in the living room, master bedroom and the loft. There are cable boxes on the main floor TVs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking/eating utensils. We have a pack and play with mattress, side rail to add to any bed in the house, chair top high chair, and bath chair available for families traveling with little ones. Relax and take in the fresh mountain air on one of two decks. Sit on the back deck and observe nature with a view of the woods. It is the last house on a dead end road so there are no neighbors to one side. At the end of the road is the lake and the river. Peaceful and private. Birds, hummingbirds, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, and rabbits are some of our most common visitors. There is a fire pit in the side yard. From the side yard, take a short trail through the woods to the river. There is a bridge that goes over the river to a beautiful area next to the lake with tent platforms, tree platforms, picnic tables, grills, and a fire pit. There are walking trails and amenities all throughout Land Harbor. You can visit the Land Harbor website to see all of the amenities. With an elevation of 3600 feet, the weather is great year-round. Summers are cooler and the winters are mild compared to other areas of the country. Linville Land Harbor offers a wide variety of amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Amenities include: golf course, Junior Olympic sized swimming pool, recreation center, hiking trails, lake, rivers, covered pavilion with grills, tent platforms and tree stands on the lake, playground, basketball court, children's pond, and more. You can feel safe while staying at Land Harbor with its own North Carolina Certified law enforcement agency which serves the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please note: The fireplace is currently not available for use but there is a fire pit in our yard and just on the other side of the river behind the cabin. It is recommended for a 4 wheel drive during times of snow/freeze. The pool allows 5 guests at a time. Fishing in the lake requires a permit that we call in prior to your stay and is a fee per day through Land Harbor. They have rules on what bait you may use. The river behind the cabin does not require a permit and there are other places in the area to fish as well.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean & the perfect size. Definitely Nanny's Cabin with it's older style & features as well as the personal touches. The only thing we were a bit disappointed in was some of the Linville Land Harbor amenties required additional fees that we were unaware of. We still enjoyed the free access to the game room! One other item to note is that due to the devastating flood, the bridge mentioned in the listing that you can use to walk from the cabin over to the park is no longer there. Otherwise, we loved our stay & appreciate the prompt communication with the owner.
My family had a wonderful 4 day stay, there was plenty of room in the cabin with everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed walking our dogs in the neighborhood going to Linville Winery the leaves were so beautiful to. We will definitely be staying again.

Thank you so much for the review. Loved seeing this!
Loved the location. Convenient to everything! Very cozy. The upstairs needed a light bulb but with only the 3 of us we just used the two main floor bedrooms. The river was pretty and in walking distance, we took some beautiful pictures there.
We had a great time escaping the chaos of life for a few days. Loved the location of the cabin right next to the dam and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains nearby.

Thank you for your review! So glad you enjoyed your time!
We loved the areas around the cabin- within the neighborhood there’s a nice hike around the lake, a children’s pond, playground with big open field and a bocce ball court. Also close in proximity to area highlights.
Cozy cabin with everything you need to have a great experience. Well stocked kitchen made cooking easy. Loved the fireplace. It was the perfect family getaway vacation place.

Loved reading this! Thank you so much! Hope you come back soon!
Cabin is dated but clean and comfortable. It is stocked better than any other place we have stayed. Grounds are beautiful. I would have preferred to be closer to Blowing Rock but overall, we had a great vacation.
Well-loved family cabin in wooded area was private but had easy access to highway and local restaurants. Especially pretty neighborhood in autumn! Kids would love it, but close to the lake, so young ones would need supervision.
My friends and I had a great time. The view and neighborhood surrounding the home was absolutely stunning. I would definitely come back some point in the future.

Thank you so much! We would love to have you back!
The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was stocked well and had everything we needed. It is close to a dam overflow area which provided a soothing background sound, especially when sleeping. It was a peaceful getaway.

Thank you so much for the review and the sweet gift you left for future guests and us to enjoy!
This is our second stay at Granny's Cabin and again it was a peaceful get-away for our 20th anniversary. The location is quiet and peaceful and easy to access (outside of the fog and mist!). Everything was as advertised and listed and we had no trouble at all. Great place and we'll be back again.

Thank you so much for the review! We’re so happy that you enjoy the cabin and will stay again!
Had a very peaceful stay. The stream behind the house with the dam made it seem like you were deep in the woods. The dogs had fun walking in the edge water.

Nanny's Cabin is awesome!
We had such a wonderful time at Nanny's Cabin. The location is very quiet and private at the end of the road. You can literally walk out the back door to cross the bridge to the river trail. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. Thanks Rebecca!

I am one of three grandchildren who currently own Nanny's Cabin. We have enjoyed it for over 30 years and have a lot of great information to share of things to do and places to see in the area.
Why they chose this property
Location. Location. Location. Our Grandmother, Nanny, fell in love with the property and designed her dream cabin. She loved nature and was an environmentalist. The property is great with trails accessible in walking distance. It is the last cabin on a dead end road which ends on a lake. Land Harbor is a resort community with numerous things to do. This cabin is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and close to many area attractions, including: Linville falls, Grandfather mountain, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, Blowing Rock, Boone, Hawksnest Ski Resort, Linville Cavern, Alpine coaster, Tweetsie railroad, and many more.
What makes this property unique
It has a unique Swiss cabin appeal surrounded by woods. Wonderful community with lots of amenities. Lots of area attractions.
