Alice, our Host, not only had a very clean, well stocked house, but also a genuine caring heart for our comfort. We experienced a power outage while at the house. A power outage that impacted over12,000 people in Carmel! Alice stayed in contact with us to make sure we were okay and to check if we needed anything. A wonderful thing about this house, too, is the location; very close to so many places!House was clean, cozy and Host made us feel like family (in a good way!)

A lovely 2 bed cottage in a super location just off Highway 1. You can be anywhere on the Monterey Peninsula within 20 minutes. Nice large comfy beds, nice bathroom & shower and a well equipped kitchen. There is a large living area and dining area also.Check in and out was very simple and Alice was very helpful and flexible when we had to amend our booking.Would definitely recommend and is excellent value for money.

Nice location. The patio/deck was very challenging. The motion light didn’t stay on line enough. No outdoor light at the front door. Inside was fabulous. Outside was run down. Overall nice place.

Not sure what the challenge was on the patio/deck. Small area with a table, chairs and lounge chairs. Motion light is in front of the house and turns off when no motion. There is a porch light right over the front door {Light switch is right by the door. Can't miss it} and a carport light. This guest never asked about the lights or deck concerns while they stayed. Not sure what they mean by run down as we clean the area before guests arrive. Winds can blow pine needles and oak leaves onto the deck on any given day. Very surprised to get a review like this as you can see from other reviews nobody has had any of these issues.

Such a fun stay!

We had the best time in Carmel! The house is located less than 3 minutes from the main hub downtown and also very close to the main highway leading through Big Sur. The home was comfortable and clean!

My husband and I teach tennis for a living. We have lived in Carmel/Monterey since 1988. My mother's family moved to Carmel in 1916 and have extensive knowledge of all the fun things to do on the Monterey Peninsula. We have created a cozy, private environment for your enjoyment while you visit Carmel/Monterey Peninsula. We hope to provide the "Home away from home" feel for all of our guests. We live locally and have 2 wonderful sons.

Ruthie's Cottage is a family property that we have completely remodeled. We have provided all the amenities that you would find in your own home. We are located close to all major events that happen on the Monterey Peninsula. We are minutes away from some of the most famous golf courses in the world, fabulous beaches and fine dining. Big Sur is within driving distance from our house.
