Character Cottage with Private Pool and Mountain Views

This characterful 3 bedroom south-west facing house is on the Mother's Garden farm of Maggie Whitman, writer Martin Kirby and their children Ella and Joe Joe, known to millions from the very first NO GOING BACK documentary on Channel 4.
Martin's books, No Going Back - Journey to Mother's Garden and Shaking The Tree, has brought visitors from around the world to Maggie and Martin's door. The farm of vines, olives and almonds is in the beautiful Priorat mountains, south of Barcelona and just 40 minutes from Reus Airport, Tarragona and the beach.
And the location will appeal greatly to food and wine enthusiasts, bird watchers, walkers or anyone seeking a taste of real Spain or simply wanting a holiday with a difference. Children are very welcome indeed - and if needed Universal Studios Porta Aventura is just 40 minutes away.
Our farmhouse is just 50 metres away, and we are on hand to ensure you have a wonderful time, whatever your age.

One of the best holidays we had

We had a wonderful week at the villa and we will like to say a big thank you to Maggie and Martin for the hospitality and all the help during our stay. The villa is much better than what you can see on the pictures and it is maintained to a high standard, you feel welcome from the moment you step in, there is plenty to see and visit in the area and the sea is only half an hour drive away. Once again thank you very much Maggie and Martin from everyone in our company and we will be coming back that is for sure.

Fabulous place to stay!

Such a great house and lovely owners who were generous, friendly and helpful. We loved the pool and the terrace under the virginia creeper. Well placed for exploring the Priorat region, the beach 35 minutes away along a beautiful winding road. We had a fabulous holiday and would love to go back. Thank you Maggie and Martin!

Peace and Calm in Catalonia.

We had a wonderful week in this comfortable country home with a much appreciated swimming pool. Martin and Maggie are the perfect hosts. Their passion for Catalonia and their extensive knowledge enriched our stay and ensured that we too loved the area. Ideal for couples and families.

Everything a Spanish rental should be.

A delightful, roomy and sunny property surrounded by wildlife in a quiet location but only a few miles from a pretty village with market (Tuesdays), shops and fuel. Owners care passionately about the area and natural environment and are extremely helpful. A perfect holiday week. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family who want a quiet break with nature on the doorstep.

They and their home were featured in the No Going Back television documentaries, and Martin has written two books - NO GOING BACK Journey to Mother's Garden, and SHAKING THE TREE -about their search for time and a life closer to nature.
“More than 1000 people from around the world have made their way to The Garden, for many reasons – peace, culture, birding, walking, food,” said Maggie. “We will continue to offer accommodation at our cottage until 2016. Please come if you are interested in this different way of life.”

Martin and Maggie also run the Mother’s Garden premium extra virgin olive oil business, exporting fresh, award-winning olive oil to the UK.

The Priorat is a wine and olive oil mountain region of extraordinary beauty, culture and peace.
We call this life time travel and all visitors have appreciated the nature and also how it is also just 40 minutes from the Mediterranean and the historic and bustling cities of Tarragona and Reus.
The airport at Reus is 30 minutes away. Barcelona and its airport are 1 hour and 45 minutes away by are or train.
There is a rail station in our village.
