Short break in glorious Staffordshire countryside

Woodview Barn was perfect for our short break to the South Peaks and Leek. It is clean, comfortable and spacious and is located near the edge of the Peak District National Park. It’s just over a couple of miles from the interesting market town of Leek.If we come back to the area we would definitely stay again.

More than expected

The converted cottage is full of character and everything has it's purpose. Modern central heating, placement of sockets and lighting completed overall good impression. Easy access to interesting locations makes it a great point of start for area exploration. Place to revisit definitely.

Great property

We travel a lot and have to say this is one of if not the cleanest property we have had the pleasure of staying in.No dust on any surfaces or any of the usual missed webs or spiders anywhere, immaculate throughout.Plenty of room for two and all the kitchen untensils needed if you want to cook together with a table top freezer to store meals. You could smell the central heating fuel in the kitchen but was not a problem (heating housed on other side of kitchen wall under outside stairs).Plenty of storage in bedrooms, double bed mattress could probably do with replacing at this point but was fine for a two night stay. Water pressure in shower great, (always a plus).Great views from the property and private parking, the photos do not do it justice.Lots to do and see locally for all abilities and plenty of nice eateries near by.Would happily stay here again.

Clean and comfortable

Love this property. This was our second stay. As mentioned before the only improvement would be a bigger T.V screen and a fire in the fire place, just for the effect of a warm cosy glow, even on damp dreary summer days!

Summer holidays

Absolutely brilliant little cottage for our family. It was perfect for what we needed for 5 nights. The location was great, lots of local pub/restaurants within walking distance. Lots of things for family to do within 40mins drive too. Great price for 5 nights for family of 4. Would definitely recommend. The only thing is there is no wifi ( which didnt bother us, suits us better that the kids are not glued to screens whilst we were away). The owners provided some dvd's for entertainment, which our kids enjoyed. Overall, loved the place!

Great property

Lovely clean and full of character. The only improvement would have been a wood burning stove but the heating warmed up the place really quickly and much appreciated on a frosty weekend in October. Great base for exploring towns and countryside. Local pub within 10 minutes walk. Great communication with host

8/10 Good

Beautiful cottage in lovely location but in need of some updating.

The barn has been renovated to a very high standard but the furnishings let it down. The sofas and chairs are covered in throws and are not really made for relaxing in for any length of time. The mattress on the double bed is old and uncomfortable and the bed feels small.( We put the duvets from the bunks under our mattress protector to make it more comfortable.) The kitchen has everything you could need but the breakfast bar ( the only place you can sit to eat ) doesn't really work if there are more than two as there is a wall cupboard above it and you bang your head when you bend forward.. The heating in the cottage is very efficient but the cottage is crying out for a fire in the lovely fireplace. Even an electric one would work . Side lights in the sitting room would also be nice.. The shower is great and the bunk bed room spacious. Unfortunately our weather wasn't that good but I imagine sitting out in the garden would be lovely. The local pub ( in walking distance ) is great and serves lovely food. It was immaculately clean and well resourced but in our opinion it needs updating a little.
