Thank you for your valued review of our property. The view from the property is amazing and even after 50 years, it never fails to give me such joy, to look out of the window and see, an island, an estuary, a beach in the distance, a valley, a vineyard, and an amazing space of sky above the fields and trees.
So pleased you enjoyed your visit.
This is an extremely comfortable and well equipped property, one of the best we’ve stayed in and we are quite fussy! The view is beautiful, the kitchen is very well equipped, we cooked most evenings and there was nothing we missed. The beds are comfortable and linen was of high quality. The weather was very wet and there was a couple of days we just watched Netflix and drank wine with the log burner going, but we’re very comfortable and happy doing so. A short walk down to a lovely little beach and plenty more around. Great communication from host Judy. Thank you :-)

Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
A picture perfect place to stay. The views are simply stunning. This cosy costal getaway looks exactly as the photos. Just a short walk away you'll find the Village Inn which is worth visiting for food and/or a couple of drinks. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep to explore and the nearest beach is a 20 minute walk away. Bigbury, Bantham and Yarmer we're our favourites. Communication with the host was great. We would recommend.

I agree, the views are special, we never tire of looking out of the window, across the estuary, Buckland, Bantham and out to sea to Burgh Island.
The team work really hard at keeping a standard in the property, so, grateful for your appreciation. Thanks for choosing our property from the many!

Lovely bungalow with the most incredible view of Burgh Island and Bantham Bay. Fantastic walk across the fields and cliffs to get down to the beach. We stayed in Feb and had the beach to ourselves at times. Everything you could possibly need in the house, lovely log burner and well appointed kitchen. Comfortable beds and modern, clean bathroom. Highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs J Sullivan
I live in the Midlands with my husband. We try to regularly visit Thurlestone, our favourite place in the South Hams, as often as commitments allow. The property has been in the family for over 50 years, during this time it has been the hub for fabulous family beach holidays. I have tried to make the bungalow comfortable, a home from home for my guests to enjoy. I have repeat visitors year after year with some visitors even settling on their retirement in the neighbourhood. I would say if you love nature and walking and peace and quiet you will love the South Hams.
Why they chose this property
Tucked away in a corner of Thurlestone, but just a short stroll to the centre with thatched cottages, a Village Inn, a Post Office, a Church, and the 4 star Thurlestone Hotel. The village boasts a links golf course, tennis courts and access to the South West Coastal Path. This cosy coastal property offers amazing views across the valley and out to sea, visible from the garden and inside the property. The house is fully equipped, comfortable beds, electric heating with a log burner for those cooler nights. The garden at the rear of the property is secure, with wood fencing on both sides and a double wire fence at the end of the garden so this does not impair the wonderful view we have across the valley and out to sea, with Burgh Island being a central point. We have a private parking space outside our own garage. Shops in our nearest town of Kingsbridge have everything you need, from a fish shop, a bakers, small independent retailers, alongside large Tesco and Morrison's stores . Wonderful walks on the South West Coastal path which can be accessed from the property. Superb choice of wonderful sandy beaches, many within a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive.
What makes this property unique
Thurlestone is an ideal place to stay if you like Walking, Bird Watching, Beaches, Nature, Golf, Tennis etc. A central position to explore the South Hams, with Salcombe, Hope Cove, Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth amongst the many places for a great day out. The Bungalow provides a Welcome Book giving you all the information you will need to maximise your stay including a list of local eateries. In the Summer you may see fantastic sunsets, a perfect end after a day at the beach, sitting in the garden enjoying a G&T while the BBQ sizzles away and the sun goes down. I would not recommend the area to anyone who wants busy night life. Entertainment here is more a great chat whilst enjoying a good meal ! There are 2 local Pubs one in The Village with good food and occasional quiz nights and music nights but we provide loads of Games and Videos, DVD's for your use.
