Fabulous holiday house with garden and nearby parking, close to town and beaches
Whether you want a base to explore from or a stylish, comfortable retreat to relax in, No. 8 won’t disappoint. In a quiet location only a few minutes’ walk from the bustling streets of St Ives, No. 8 comfortably sleeps six, has stunning views from the top floors and has a lovely south-facing garden – a rarity for St Ives. Within a few minutes’ walk you can be in the centre of the town, viewing the art at Tate St Ives or in the Barbara Hepworth Garden or simply settling onto Porthmeor Beach for a day in the sunshine. Parking for one car is included - you can drive to the house to unload and then the parking space is a few minutes away on a private driveway. The walk back to the house is approx 5 mins.
We have been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence due to our great guest reviews and have many guests who stay year after year. We will always do our best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Contact us with your dates and we will be as flexible as we can. If you need to cancel, we will always be flexible and will do everything possible to re-sell your dates and move your stay or refund your payment.
We have three good sized bedrooms with comfy beds, gorgeous linen and soft towels. We have a lovely new bathroom and separate shower room, also recently installed. On the first floor you will find the master bedroom with a king sized bed, exposed brick wall and views across the rooftops to the sea. On the top floor, we have one room with a king size bed and spectacular views across the harbour and a third bedroom with twin beds and a side view to the Island. The shiny new family bathroom has a shower over bath, sink and toilet and we have installed a lovely new a shower room with shower, vanity unit and toilet. Both showers provide a lovely warm, powerful shower. Although the house is set up for 6 we also have a small bunk room (with full adult sized beds) which would suit 2 extra children and is the perfect place for a travel cot as it is near to the master bedroom on the first floor. This is the ideal holiday home for families, friends or couples. If you are travelling with little ones, then we can help take the hassle out of your packing a little bit. We have: a Travel Cot (please bring bedding), High Chair, Changing Mat, Puzzles and Toys - all available at no extra charge.

The property was fantastic and parking a short walk away was a bonus. It was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!
A tardis of a house! Way more space than I was expecting, beautifully decorated and with plenty of toys and books to keep my toddler occupied. Walking distance to everywhere you would need.

So long as walking up and down the steep streets of St Ives is no problem, we highly recommend this house. A 10 minute walk to Fore Street or the beach. Excellent children’s books plus high chair etc for young ones. Lots of character. Great views from the south facing bedrooms. Back yard a bonus.

This is a great property. It is comfortable and spacious, and in a great location. We loved the comfy beds and the outside space. It was helpful to have a dedicated parking space, though it is at the foot of a step drive so takes a bit of care getting in and out. It is possible to drive to the front door to drop off luggage but it is quite a narrow approach. Overall we had a fantastic time.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 8 Bowling Green terrace. St Ives is a lovely area and this property was a perfect base to explore from.
As other reviews have suggested the photos don’t do it justice, you can literally lay in bed and see the sea!
I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to visit here.

The house is well cared for and loved. Exceptionally clean and well equipped for a holiday. The beds are very comfortable with quality bedding. The towels provided for both bathrooms are large and very soft. The patio area it is a large sunny oasis to enjoy Al fresco dining or just to enjoy the sunshine. The house is located at the top of a hill (most of St Ives is very hilly). About a five minute walk down hill to the town centre. At the end of your stay your fitness levels will have improved so allow ten minutes for the return journey.Very useful to have a reserved parking spot as parking is difficult anywhere near the town. Really enjoyed our stay and thank you to Ali the property owner. Hope to return

The photos don’t do this house justice! The house is beautiful, decoration is lovely and it feels very clean and spacious throughout. View from the top window is amazing, and the garden is a lovely tranquil spot. It is very quiet even though you are so close to town centre and a few mins walk from the beach.

Bowling Green Terrace is a beautiful house and was absolutely perfect for our family’s stay in St Ives. The location was perfect for us as we are a family that likes to spend long days on the beach and both Porth Minster and Porth Meor beaches were just short walks away, 10 mintues and 5 minutes respectively. Of course there was a lot of up hill walking, which my mother in law didn’t find easy but this is only to be expected in St Ives. We were very lucky with the weather and didn’t see a cloud in the sky all week! This meant that we were able to really enjoy the outdoor decking area, we sat out and cooled down in the evenings. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, lots of memories made and already thinking about next year!

we had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and St Ives. We can recommend the accommodation to everyone and would come again ourselves. The house has everything you need and much more, is very lovingly furnished and has a great view from the upper rooms. Furthermore everything was really clean so we felt super comfortable. The only tiny negative point is that a relatively „steep climb“ is necessary to reach the house from the harbor. If you have mobility restrictions in this regard or are older and perhaps no longer very fit, I would advise against it. My father always had a hard time and needed a few short breaks. Otherwise, St Ives is to fall in love with. Many beaches, shops, restaurants and cafes as well as galleries and many of Cornwall's attractions are within easy reach. All in all, the house and the location were a 10 out of 10. Ali is such a great host, responded quickly to all my messages and questions. If I ever come to St Ives again, I would not want to stay somewhere else. This house just made our Cornwall Trip perfect. Our dog enjoyed the time as well. All beaches were still accessible with dogs and there were so many other dogs to play with. The people we met were all very lovely and kind.

Wirklich ein fabelhaftes, wunderschönes Ferienhaus, sehr hochwertige Ausstattung, bequeme Betten und Bettwaren, tolle Lage, nah zum Strand und zu allen Geschäften. Einziger Minuspunkt war die sehr enge Zufahrt zum Haus und dass der Parkplatz beim ersten Mal nicht so einfach zu finden war Aber das haben wir auch geschafft und wir würden auch wiederkommen!

Really lovely, comfortable and well equipped house. Very near beaches and shops but in a quiet pretty street. Owner was super nice to deal with. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 8 Bowling Green Terrace. It is tastefully furnished and decorated and the kitchen and was well equipped and easy to use. The master bedroom is particularly spacious with a comfy bed and a nice view over the rooftops. The decking area was a lovely space to sit in in the mornings and evenings when the weather was warm. The terrace was generally peaceful but is also in a very good location for accessing the different beaches in St Ives as well as the centre of town. We would happily stay again.

Perfect property in a wonderful location, so close to all the beaches and a workout to boot walking back from the beach, then chill in the garden with a G&T...but not change that at all. Travelling with one dog this property is perfect, no issues with only using the beach from 08:00 - 10am and 18:00hrs onwards which suited us just fine.
Would highly recommend 8 Bowling Green Terrance as a great family staycation location to make wonderful memories ❤️

Why they chose this property
We have lots of families who come back to No.8 regularly. It's a great base to explore St Ives from, offering comfortable and stylish accommodation with a lovely sunny garden and wonderful views from the bedrooms. Close to everything, you can park your car once you've unloaded and you won't need it again until your departure day! Parking is included in a private space about 5 mins walk away. If you do want to explore beyond St Ives there are no worries about finding a parking space when you get back.
