About this property

Large detached house in Bude, garden and space for the extended family

Our large family home has recently been renovated in most parts of the house. It has gardens on the south and west sides and a large west facing terrace from the kitchen is perfect for summer evening BBQs. If there is ever a wet day, the games room provides ample entertainment, with pool, darts and a TV. On the ground floor, Sunnymeade has a new kitchen/diner, a large and a small sitting room, shower and two toilets. Upstairs there is a family bathroom, two large bedrooms with en-suite showers, and one further bedroom. The next staircase leads to three more bedrooms, with extensive views over the town to the sea. Summerleaze beach, visible from upstairs, is less than a kilometre away, and together with Crooklets beach is Lifeguarded in the summer. The house has been in the family for over 35 years, and it has been home for our family to grow up in. This is an ideal family retreat. The ruggedly beautiful North Cornish Coast Path leads walkers away from the two main beaches. Bude is amply equipped, with supermarkets, independent shops, pubs restaurants take-aways and sea pool.

We had a fabulous holiday in Bude. Rachel and Ryan were great hosts and their house was wonderful. We were a party of 10 and it felt spacious and comfortable. The games room was an added bonus and was very well used. To be able to walk into Bude and to the beaches in less than 10 minutes was brilliant.

Great space for our large family

We loved the space, the games room was a huge bonus with our large family. The kitchen is really well equipped and the living room comfortable, we were lucky with the weather so enjoyed the garden and patio area. Walking distance to the shops, bars etc and also the beach. We would definitely stay again for a large family gathering - the house was everything we needed

Family holiday

Wonderful place very relaxing lots of room for our 5 grandchildren. This is not a criticism because our holiday was perfect but a mop and bucket and dustpan and brush would have come in handy with 5 grandchildren. Excellent location 5 star all the way

Family Holiday

The house was exactly as describe and the whole family enjoyed staying there. The garden was great for the children to run around in and the kitchen was a lovely place where we could all socialise. Another bonus was the proximity to Summerleaze Beach, the shops and several restaurants, which were all within walking distance. Thank you Rachel and family for allowing us to enjoy your home.

Lovely Spacious Home

Lovely home for our family of 12. The property is very spacious, the pictures do not do it justice. Lots to keep you entertained on rainy days. Welcome package was well received. The property is in a great location, walking distance to the canal, beach and town. Rachel and Ryan are excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We had a super holiday in Bude.

Spacious house within walking distance of Bude

This lovely house was very spacious for our group of 11. We were grateful for enough seating for our group at the table and in the lounge.The games room had plenty of use. We enjoyed the easy walk to the town centre for food, drinks and browsing. We did park one car with all our beach paraphernalia at Summerleaze Beach with everyone else walking - again an easy walk. The parking spots are quite tight if you have an SUV type vehicle. Would highly recommend this property and we would definitely seek out this property on our return .

Sunnymeade, Bude – Five star plus

Planning to take a party of 10 to Cornwall during half term, we booked the first available accommodation we could find. Thankfully, it was Sunnymeade and it ticked all the boxes: ample bedrooms (more than we needed), sitting rooms and, more importantly, bathrooms and plenty of places to find peace and quiet. The house is extremely large, clean, well equipped and located within easy reach of shops, restaurants and beaches. We were fortunate to have sunshine all week so made good use of the large gas barbecue and the garden, which was ideal for a family game of cricket. Most evenings found us in the games room, playing table tennis, pool and darts, leaving little time to take advantage of the many games and books provided. The owners, who live next door took pains to ensure we were happy with the accommodation and clearly cared that we had a good holiday in their home. In short, it was everything it said on the tin, and more. I would heartily recommend Sunnymeade, which is the best self-catering accommodation I have had the privilege of staying in.

A wonderful home in a gorgeous location

A perfect holiday home for all the family. Beautiful home with everything you need. Comfy beds, plenty of bathrooms, gorgeous kitchen. A fantastic games room and a lovely garden. Something for everyone (even great for games of hide and seek) All set in this lovely Cornish location. Perfect for beaches, walks, food and drink. We also visited Bodmin Jail; well worth a visit.. Perfect holiday home. Great communication from the hosts. Thank you for a much needed holiday.

Great Stay in Bude

We were a family of 11 (8 adults, 3 kids) & stayed at Sunnymeade for one week in August. The property was great for us all with lots of space to enjoy ourselves during the stay. The games room was a big hit & we appreciated the extra fridge/freezer facilities which are always needed for a large group. The house is in a great location and is ideally situated to walk to the town or local beaches. Excellent house to choose for a lovely week in Bude.

Three generations on holiday!

Very comfy beds, bedding and sofas. Games room a bonus! Ideal outside space….plenty of inside space. A quiet house!…..floor boards etc! Easy walk to Coop store……and town. Kitchen equipment could be better….bigger pans, sharper knives. Not much space for food storage….lots of half used packets and jars in cupboard!?!?!?! More wardrobe hangers would be good too. 10am departure quite early for a full house of mixed ages.

Excelllent location

We arrived to a clean and wonderful house and met host who was friendly and very helpful. The house is in an excellent location a few minutes walk from the beach, pubs and restaurants. Had a totally relaxing week exploring the area, dining out and in the wonderful garden. Highly recommended.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful house

A beautiful house, with plenty of space for our 2 families. With 5 teenagers, the games room was a big hit, and they enjoyed playing pool and hanging out there in the evenings. The kitchen was very modern and well equipped, and opened out on to a back terrace and large garden, where we enjoyed sitting overlooking Bude, with a glass of wine. The whole house was spotlessly clean and it was very handy to have plenty of bathrooms. We were lucky enough to have the best weather all week and so took advantage of the lovely local beaches. Some great restaurants in the town, but make sure you book well ahead if you’re visiting in the summer. Thank you to Rachel and Ryan for letting us stay in your gorgeous home and for making the whole experience so enjoyable.

Lovely House

The house was great for our large mixed group. The grandchildren loved it and happily took a stroll down the beach. It didn’t rain but had it done so there was ample entertainment available in the house. Would definitely come again

Beautiful house....beautiful gardens!

We have just come back from our week at sunny mead! Only downside to the holiday is it went far to quickly 😂. The children loved the huge garden and massive house! We played hide and seek, hubby lost me in the house many of times 😂 we had day trips out... the children just wanted to get back to the house tho!!!..all 12 of us could sit around the table at meal times which was lovely! Evening games of bingo in the kitchen and the main lounge was big enough for us all to sit together at night. Games room was popular and great size too :)

Sunnymeade has been in the family since 1986, it is now owned and run by Rachel and Ryan. We live here in the winter and run it as a holiday let during the summer.

Why they chose this property

You will love being in this house. It's very sunny and warm, it's very spacious, which is what you need when you holiday as a large group. The 3 reception areas allow you to take time out. The gardens provide space for children to use their energy and quiet areas for adults to chill out, all while the sun is shining on you, as well as plenty of shade if needed.
If the weather isn't too good, then the games room will provide plenty of entertainment, and there is once again plenty of space inside to play games and share each others company.

You actually could holiday here without even owning a car!
